[WRP] - A view from Parliament - Issue 14

Day 1,882, 11:22 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Huey George

Preamble

In issue 13 of "A view from Parliament", there were two outstanding votes. In this article I’ll update you on how they ended. I'll also update you on 8 completed law proposals, yes our fine members of Congress(Parliament) have been really earning their gold recently. I will end by letting you know how I’ve voted on the one (at the time of publish) outstanding law proposal.

Law proposals

The outstanding law proposal from last article were;

VAT & Import Taxes: Weapons

I voted YES. This is because I saw an overwhelming consensus among my constituents for this. The money raised from this should benefit our younger/less established citizens if used effectively by the government.

However we must be mindful to safeguard against making weapons un-affordable and a population reliant on hand-outs of weapons through schemes such as CTA or from MUs.

The vote ended;
25 YES votes to 7 NO votes

Income tax change from 3% to 5%

I voted NO. The law proposal to change it from 5% to 3% was not passed long ago. Therefore not enough time has passed to test the system or allow the average citizen to feel the benefits of the change.

The vote ended
14 YES votes to 17 NO votes

Completed law proposal are;

VAT & Import Taxes: Food
Value added tax (VAT) from 10% to 8%
Import Tax from 99% to 70%

I voted YES. This is because in these difficult economic times, our citizenship will benefit from slightly reduced prices for food. There was also a fair amount of general consensus among my constituents in favour for this.

The vote ended
23 YES votes to 13 NO votes in the UK

VAT & Import Taxes: Iron
Value added tax (VAT) from 0% to 0% (Attention: No VAT tax for raw materials)
Import Tax from 6% to 99%

I voted YES. This is because it will benefit domestic Raw Material (Iron) Producers as this change in import tax will discourage foreign producers from selling in the eUK markets. Additionally this could generate additional income for Government if foreign producers still decide to sell in the eUK markets with extra revenue generated from the higher tax rate.

The vote ended
24 YES votes to 9 NO votes

Income tax change from 3% to 1%

I voted YES. It's been a long standing policy of my own and the Workers' Rights Party to reduce income tax to encourage spend, Less to the Government, more to the hard worker. It is only a marginal increase to daily wages however again even a marginal increase will mounted up over days, weeks and months.

The vote ended
12 YES votes to 21 NO votes

President of United Kingdom proposed a mutual protection pact with Bulgaria

I voted YES. Bulgaria is a vital ally and I can think of no reason not to continue our MPP. Bulgaria aids us in our battles and I’m sure will continue into the future. The MPP should also continue to allow our citizens to aid them in their own battles.

The vote ended
29 YES votes to 4 NO votes in the UK
26 YES votes to 5 NO votes in Bulgaria

Do you agree to transfer 250000 GBP from the country accounts to Bank of England?

I voted YES. This will create a budget for a new war stockpile of weapons. It’s also forecast to generate a greater amount of income from the Monetary Market when provided to the MoF to use.

The vote ended
31 YES votes to 3 NO votes

President of Hungary proposed a mutual protection pact with United Kingdom

I voted YES. Hungary is a member of the “TWO” alliance with us therefore vital to continue a MPP with. Hungary aids us in our battles and I’m sure will continue into the future. The MPP should also continue to allow our citizens to aid them in their own battles.

The vote ended
32 YES votes to 2 NO vote in the UK
36 YES votes to 1 NO vote in Hungary

Law proposal currently under the vote;

Norway has been proposed as Natural Enemy.

I voted YES. This is seems to be the will of my constituents and provides our citizens chance to earn True Patriot medals and fight directly for the UK. It’ll also make us a stronger and more useful ally by providing our citizenship battle experience and military co-ordination practice.

The current vote stands (as of 10:42 Day 1,882 of the New World)
32 YES votes to 2 NO votes in the UK
The counter NE vote stands;
16 YES votes to 0 NO votes in Norway

As always I welcome the view of my constituents. Please feel free to comment or personal message me.
