Elections, Elections, Read all about it!

First, congratulations to Josh Frost who will once again be serving as eUnited States President. For those new to the game, this is Frost's fourth term, though nonconsecutive, so the eUS is in good hands. He also made the mistake of putting the WHPR back in my hands, so this should definitely be an interesting month to read the whpr. Frost faces a daunting month, the eUS is rife with challenges, but given his track record, there's no reason to doubt this month will be anything but extraordinary.

Frost won with a commanding lead, but almost more interesting is seeing Talostastic coming in in second. Talos ran a joke campaign, yet, due to a later effort, was still able to defeat the AFA candidate. We're making progress America.

Frost's cabinet can be found here:

President: Josh Frost

Vice President: Colin Lantrip

Chief of Staff: Molly Emma

Secretary of State: Artela

Secretary of Defense: DmJohnston

NSC Director: HeapSeppo

Secretary of Interior: Othere

Secretary of Education: TanishQ

Secretary of Media: Paul Proteus

Secretary of Homeland Security: MelissaRose

Secretary of Treasury: Evry

Earlier Frost released a Presidential Statement detailing his goals for the start of the month.

Here's to a great month of keeping you informed o7

A Word with Josh Frost
Deputy Secretary of the Media NewAzazel

Frost sitting down with NewAzazel

It’s a new day in the White House, and as such, we have a new leader and a new administration. I sat down with new president Josh Frost to discuss the plans for the upcoming term. Frost is a veteran, having served in the Oval Office before, and he came in with a vision of changing America and fixing some longstanding problems. Frost’s cabinet is a mixture of old players, Oblige veterans, and some new faces, and Frost has extreme confidence in all of them.

His main goals this term include getting us back on the map by reclaiming some regions, and improving our foreign relations with both our allies and our adversaries. He believes a military solution won’t be easy, something that will require a bit of money, along with a mix of strategy and guerilla warfare. With regard to our foreign affairs, Frost has no intention of diminishing our commitment to our alliance, and this term we will work to improve both the eUSA's situation along with CoT's. Along with all this, Frost intends to maintain a media presence, both on his own and through the WHPR’s continuing publication.
He also recognizes the continuing problem of the PTO attempt. While the movement has been hit hard, it’s not out of commission, and Frost would like to give them another wound, and the kill shot is on the way. Frost has come into his new term with a commitment to reshape America and its citizenry. When asked what is expected of our contribution, Frost states: “I think the infighting has to stop. I want to see people proposing new ideas and talking. We need to start working together as parties, people, and MU's. A lot of American politics has been predicated upon self-interest. It needs to stop.”

Frost holds a lot of faith in this country and its people. He wants to see the best in us, and wants to have the best for us. But Frost also needs the citizens to give him some faith as well. In his closing thoughts, Frost told me this: “I just hope they can be patient. I know they are frustrated. It took us some time to get us to this point and it’s going to take us some time to get out of it. I know we will do it though.” I thank Frost for the time he committed to this interview and look forward to an interesting month.

Room for Debate

Some of you may remember this was a segment Civil ran last time he was Propaganda Minister, and well I liked it, so I'm bringing it back \o/

Quoting the last article which used this segment, "Room for Debate is a very simple concept. Every week or so, we’ll take a topic and post it in the WHPR. Individuals will be encouraged to write about a paragraph answering the question, and stating their opinion on the topic. Those individuals will then have their opinions published in the WHPR, and hopefully we’ll have enough disagreement to make it interesting. The point of this segment is to foster discourse amongst casual citizens, and give people a platform to discuss their views on pertinent topics."

Today's topic was citizen's view of the recently controversial work tax:

"Taxes have always been a necessary evil of running a nation in this game. Reserves are built up through taxation and used in national defense and other national programs. While taxes make it harder to survive as an individual, this was never a game built for individuals. It is built with a community mindset. We are all struggling together for the benefit of the nation as a whole. Suck it up and be a patriot. "
-Inwegen, Former POTUS and everything else

"The tax is going down without a rate change soon, so 7% is short sighted at best. It'll result in lower revenues than 5%, where we were already running a deficit, though a small one."
-Talostastic, WTP PP

"I've never been one to concern myself with domestic policy due to my obligations abroad. The work tax has no effect on me, but I understand its impact upon MUs. I think the parties it impacts, the MUs and the national government, need to work for a solution that benefits both parties: MUs are more productive and the government has a clear revenue to fund the USAF and combat orders. "
-NewAzazel, DepSecMed and Former Secretary of State

"It's not pleasant, but it's necessary. As one of the congressmen determined to utilize it to rebuild our reserves, rebuild the nation, and who is defending the 10% rate against naysayers, I can honestly say that I'm not enjoying it either. One must keep in mind, however, that if even EZC--a very large private MU--does not want to see it dropped unreasonably low, perhaps there's good reasoning?"
-Kortanul, Congress Member

War Analysis
Veteran War Reporter Mourning Star

Well folks,
If it seems we have been losing state after state... we have. If it appears we are backed into a corner and up against the wall... we might be. As a nation are we out? Has the towel been thrown in? Are the gloves being cut? Certainly not!
America will always prevail. Always!
The Polish dogs can take our states and the Spanish pigs can take our bonuses but they will never take our will to fight, or our will to come back. We remain steadfast in our vision to reclaim what is naturally ours!
I know it can be tough to see the contiguous United States and it's outlying territories slowly being conquered by Poland, but hope is not lost. Plans are in the works. Orders are being funneled to military units. Troops are being mobilized and equipment is being passed out. With resistance wars and land swaps always popping up, the US can slowly gain another foothold. The US will come back. We must come back!
It is now more important than ever to follow and vote up orders daily!
Fight only when necessary, fight only DoD.

eNPR: Oval Office Radio

Hey. You. Yeah, you. You should tune in Friday night to eNPR. It's always a great show. Guests from the highest levels of government talking candidly about what's been going on this week, in eAmerica and the eWorld. Sometimes these episodes are so awesome "the man" tries to take us down.

"But Talos," you say, obviously a little confused. "What about the Tuesday show?" That's a great question. I'm trying to change up the format, and temporarily trimming eNPR to one night a week, so that I have plenty of time to think of new and awesome things to do with eNPR (and my schedule is a bit prohibitive of doing the Tuesday show right now).

Do you miss the Tuesday show already? Have an idea for a show topic? Want to try your hand at perhaps co-host an episode with myself or Melissa Rose? Feel free to send me a PM with the subject line "eNPR"!
