Election Results and Cabinet

Gnilraps wins with a majority of the vote

Following an intense media heavy campaign, President Gnilraps won re-election last Saturday, beating out Tyler Buublar and several other candidates on the strength of a term which has included the continued, and glorious, subjugation of Canada and maintaining 10/10 resources for all Americans.

We at the WHPR can only wish Gnilraps best of luck with his second term and look forward to reporting on America's continuing success under his leadership.

Forums in disarray; Congress Update
Wooky Jack

Well, eAmerica, remember that government shutdown that happened a few months ago in RL? It appears Congress is plagued with a new blight where there has been some intermittent connectivity on the eUSA Forums. While this may not be a cause for alarm for most two-clicking zombies it has been detrimental to activity and halted basic Congressional function. That's not to say people are inactive, but just that the reliability of the site has been questioned for the past couple weeks and many are frustrated.

There has been a lot of cynicism towards the website. About Mid-March some Congress members began to notice how slow the site’s performance was and most were assuaged with their own assurances that this could be simply fixed with a server reboot or something. I asked an eOld man for some perspective on the situation, your current Speaker of the House; Cromstar.

WJ: Who owns, runs the eUSA forums? Why are there issues that continually cause intermittent connectivity? Are they under attack by Servians? Would you be able to elaborate on what has been going on so far?

Crom: The forums are owned by former ePOTUS PigInZen. The problems, from what I understand, stem from the server code itself and ongoing issues PIZ has with the server/hosting company he uses. The issues come and go and aren't always the same.

WJ: Does PIZ need help or is he beyond help?

Crom: If the problem can be fixed, PIZ will fix it. That's really all I can say.

WJ: Is an emergency migration necessary or are people just wetting their blankets over nothing?

Crom: People are over-reacting right now. If the forums go dark, we'll deal with it like we did the last time. This time people have back-ups of the forums, so even if we do lose it, we can recreate it as-is pretty easily.

WJ: That's good news. Do you have any other information to share, Mr. SoH?

Crom: Noooooot really on this topic, no. Basically, people just need to calm the hell down.

WJ: Thanks Crom, we appreciate your candor.

In the Public Congressional Proceedings Congress is congressing about a new forum to conduct daily activities. http://eusaforums.com/forum/index.php/topic,31079.0.html Is it necessary? The jury is still out on that one, but nothing has been pushed into full swing. Such suggestions include simply creating a free forum. Others have mentioned moving to the http://fedparty.forumotion.com/. Even Cromstar has offered up his services in hosting a forum just to keep things going. Whatever the case may be I’m sure Pig in Zen can enlighten us:

“GODDAMN IT OBLIGE STOP BREAKING THE SERVER”

*Insert fat, beached whale joke*
No worries at all. I have not tracked down the issue and nor am I going to place blame on anyone other than myself. The forums WILL BE MAINTAINED and any issues will be resolved even if that means moving to a different hosting service. I am not convinced that is what is truly needed, computers don't usually break on their own. There is a root cause to the decline in performance over the past few weeks and I wish to solve the puzzle rather than blow it up and put it back together as some are advising.

I appreciate the patience and completely understand people's frustrations. It didn't help that this coincided with a spring break family vacation.

Hope this helps.
-PiZ

Thanks PigInZen for not blowing out of proportion.

American Hero: Melissa Rose and Custer
TellUrGrlThx

Welcome back America to another term!

Today, we honor not one but two great American Heroes. These two individuals are well known for their Media presence and their excellent writing. Both heroes worked continuously every week to keep our WHPR a top notch newspaper last term and truly deserve this recognition. Today’s American Heroes are….

Melissa Rose and George Armstrong Custer! As our Co-Secretaries of Media last month, they both showed dedication and focus to keeping our government’s media as best as it could be. Although after a long and busy month, MR and Custer have decided to step down and let another take on the task of leading our Media staff. These two amazing writers will always be remembered for their amazing work in WHPR and their dedication to their country. We thank you and congratulate you both on being true American Heroes!

Wild Owl as MC of Sirus
Trickstir

Trickstir- WHPR in Bold
WildOwl- MC of Sirius in Italics

So you are the MC of Sirius?

Yes, the Military Commander of Sirius

What exactly do you do overall?

I have to approve all military moves made by our member states and determine daily priorities for Sirius countries.

That sounds like a ton of strategizing to ensure the alliances position.

What are your thoughts on the battles in Baja? With us paying rent?

Baja RWs are almost always started by Asterian and LETO forces to drain our damage, in conjunction with RWs in France and Canada. They generally work, as Baja is a must win region for us, and tends to be the only place where Mexicans can hit for TP damage, but we've been lucky in holding Baja so far.

Is Sirius happy with our current state of Greelingada?

Sirius is content with us holding Canada. It shows the extent of our domination in North America and any wiped LETO country is a good thing.

Where are we head in the month ahead, so long as you are not leaking any info?

My month as MC ends on the 9th, but I have to say that I'm quite pleased with how it went, achieving Congress for all pro Sirius countries and denying Congress to 3 LETO members and Montenegro. Our only big loss was our failure in getting a Congress for Brozil.

We should continue our hold over Greelingada for as long as time will allow

War Map and Analysis

"What the F*** is that Spot?" Gnilraps screams at his Generals.

"We will have that taken care of in about 48 hours, sir" replies the Secretary of Defense.

"You F***ing better, or it's your A**!" derides Gnilraps.

Europe has only seen a couple of changes over the last week.

1. The United Kingdom has finally taken care of her Finland problem. They have repelled and ended the war. Now that Norway has RW'd a couple of regions back in the way, the UK is safe. For now.

2. Albania was kicked out of Europe but remains safe with BiH in the Middle East.

3. Ireland continues to be a thorn in Slovenia's side. Ireland has now managed to hang out in Europe for almost 22 days. Ireland has now won six battles in a row. GO IRISH!

4. Portugal is moving through Venezuela fairly easily. Hopefully, SIRIUS or Aurora can focus there when it is necessary.

5. Belarus and Latvia seem to be locked in an endless battle. They've been fighting back and forth for a couple of months, possibly longer now. Belarus has wiped Latvia as recently as a month or so ago. It would be nice to see her stave off being wiped again.

Looking the map over, things have been rather stable for the last week. We shall see who makes the next major move. Perhaps another Argentine airstrike will spice things up. Who knows, perhaps Spain has something more interesting planned?
