[What is Fun]Parameter Overload: Cannot Compute
There are definitely various types of players in Erepublik. Some of us enjoy the controversy of Political gains, some of us the conquest of the military. Some of us actually enjoy the hours of countless diplomatic talks, while others mainly laugh at how they perceive diplomacy to be utterly boring and uneventful enough to spend the kind of time required to be good at it.
Either way, there is definitely a fine line between what is, and isn't fun in Erepublik to many people.

The Statesman
The Statesman is the man or woman, usually appointed or elected to represent a country. They probably aren't the greatest business mind or military tactician in Erepublik, but rather can convince an Eskimo to buy Ice, and that it's the best investment said Eskimo will ever make. He/She is convincing, heartfelt, and prefers to spend long hours in both forums, IRC, MSN, and other forms of communication. They usually proclaim an Alliance, MPP, friendly relations, or even perhaps a negotiation on the behalf of a third party as their greatest achievement in Erepublik. There are probably very few true Statesmen in any country, and a few in "Training".

The Tactician
Many of the people in Erepublik, whether they are daily citizens or Statesmen as outlined above forget that strategy actually does play a part in Erepublik. There are tactical manuevers, regional planning, conflict assessment, and other various strategies placed by the "Tactician" type Erepublikan. Many of these types of players aren't as widely known throughout the General Halls, so to speak, but those in Power Corridors know them well. They are usually behind mass attacks, large scale defenses, and meaningful battles, although from time to time they may be asked upon for smaller, or less planned Resistance Wars. This is usually a very select few, if not a single person in each country.
The Grunt
The Grunt is, as the name goes, the Worker Ant of the Colony. They are given orders, whether it be politically motivated, economic (coordinating workforce), voting in ATO/TO Squads, or just generally representing their country or group. They do so through forums, working, training, fighting, etc. Wherever an order needs to be carried out, the Grunt does so happily. This section usually makes up a Minority, however a large Minority of the country.

The Two Clickan - Now includes more dead people!
Yes, the Majority of every country is either two clicking due to boredom, or dead. They just work, train, and barely learn to follow basic orders. Many of them, oddly enough, barely bother to fight. Most countries busy themselves trying to catch the attention of two clickers to make them active, or catch young players before they leave because they do not understand Erepublik. This is an overwhelming Majority of almost every country in Erepublik.

So where do you draw the line?
Well, the Majority of us are going to be having the most fun during conflict. Case in point: X invades Y.
The Politicians of X are going to be politickin to defend their position of invasion, justifying it for one reason or the other. They'll spend countless hours on IRC, forums, etc talking to allies and enemies alike, looking for "conflict resolution", whether that's total annihilation or diplomatic peace.
The Politicians of Y are going to politickin to defend their country, gather MPPs and countries willing to defend with them, etc, with both allies and enemies alike.
In short, the Statesmen actually have to represent something during conflict.
Tacticians will be planning strategical attack, withdraw, and counter points during the conflict on both sides. This is obvious.
Grunts will be..well....doing grunt work. In short, they'll have something to do.
Two Clickers will have 8 more clicks. How fun is that?
Fact is that most of the time, outside of direct conflict 98% of every country does nothing but work and train, while they are represented by 2% of the population. During times of conflict, everyone has something to do, whether it's represent their nation, talk trash, troll incessantly, or otherwise. Enjoy the Ride.
Cheers
