[VOTE] Issue 13 – A World That Turns (November 8th – Day 719)
A WORLD THAT TURNS
This week the world has turned into a new month, and with it, a new presidency! The Presidential Elections staged this week were a fork in the road of normal events; that is, it was not the usual election some expected. No doubt this may have been due to what happened, but first, let’s look at the results!
#1: Cerridwen Voeland of the Trube Blue Party (supported by the Australian National Party, Australian Independents, Procreate and Populate Party and Australian Communist Party) with 330 votes (53.48%)
#2: patti11 of the Australian Democratic Socialist Party with 210 votes (34.04%)
#3: Brian O’Donnel of the National Pirate Party with 46 votes (7.46%)
#4: Etheodoria Vulpine of the Australian Zombie Party with 31 votes (5.02%)
Of course, don’t forget to check out H.Nelson’s excellent report on the elections here.
Now, when I said “what happened” previously, this is what I meant:
For a start, this election welcomed two candidates from parties which until now have not played a very large role in eAustralian politics; the NPP and the AZP.
Secondly, there was some commotion in the ADSP as party president Xavier Darkmyre decided to overrule the primary vote for which candidate to support in the election. Although Cerri was the choice made by the ADSP, Xavier instead decided to support patti11 as he felt that the event of all Top 6 parties supporting one candidate spelled the end of eAustralian democracy, a decision which he himself admitted may bring on the end of his political career. Godspeed
. (See here for the official ADSP article by Xavier Darkmyre on the matter)
Finally, Cerri has become the first ever female Prime Minister in eAustralian history! A very big congratulations to Cerri for making eHistory, and good luck in running the country over the next month; you’ll need it considering the negative impacts of WA’s liberation which we’ll be feeling soon.
That brings me to our secondary news topic; the turning eWorld. The ruckus from WA’s liberation is finally settling down, and as I said before, we’ll be feeling the negative effects of the liberation soon. However, PEACE recently launched an attack on Croatia and other countries, which dragged quite a few other nations into it thanks to allied fighting (whether WA was the cause of this is beyond me, although it seems logical) and numerous Resistance Wars began as well. The cost of alliances has also been raised from 30 gold to 100 gold, as admins feel this will make countries think twice about which countries to ally.
EDITOR’S COLUMN
Well, lately, I’ve been busy with real life, so I’m sorry to say that some editions of this newspaper may not make it off the press in time. Also, thank you to all of my subscribers who take the time to read my walls of text, I appreciate it even if you can read a brick off the wall. As for myself, I may be able to run for Congress this month, should things go the way I hope.
