~Vote Desertfalcon/Emerick March 2009~

Yesterday I said in an interview that I had selected Emerick as my VP. I am here today to officially announce that I have in fact selected Emerick as my VP. It was quite difficult to find a VP candidate this election since most of the top candidates were either running for president or running as somebody else's VP. I decided that my best option would be to try and get Emerick back into the U.S. so that he could be my running mate. Now this was a bit of a risk as Emerick had been in Japan for the past two months however before that he was a very prominent figure in Eamerican politics (and is still active on the forums and in IRC) he used to be in congress and was the party president of the Libertarian party for a few months. I managed to convince him to come back over and help and that's how this all happened.

Now what separates Emerick and I from the rest of the candidates is that together we have contacts within every country, combined our experience totals more then two years in the game. In March foreign relations are going to be a huge issue with the war that is about to break about between Romania and Indonesia in Asia and our current standing within Atlantis. America, we need a president who is not afraid to make a stand on the issue, the past two presidents have spent their terms just hoping that Atlantis would work itself out. Guess what we have waited two months and the alliance is still vastly unorganized with everyone pointing fingers at each other. We have just recently seen the problems in Atlantis with our invasion of Mexico, first off other Atlantis nations started getting onto us about not giving them full notice of the war and demanding that we pay a fine, which is understandable because we made an agreement saying that we would give 48 hour notice. However Atlantis has let this fine slip with nations like Romania and Spain who still have not paid. Not a dime till Romania and Spain pay the fine! Then in two out of the three battles in Mexico the heroes came from nations in Atlantis!

There is no reason for us to be in this crumbling alliance any longer. All it does is give us undeserved association with other nations and dictates our foreign policy. Think about the upcoming war between Romania and Indonesia, who are you pulling for? If your an American probably Romania because they are in Atlantis right? Now lets just pretend for a second that neither country is in an alliance, who are you supporting now? When you look past alliance affiliation your view of other countries in the world will greatly change. The truth is PEACE is no more imperialistic then Atlantis as much as many would hate to admit it it's true.

I have long hoped Atlantis would get its shit together and I have tried to bring attention to the issue countless times however every time I have tried I just end up getting attacked by one of the founders of Atlantis. This alliance is going nowhere, and quite frankly we don't need it. What we need is a few good allies who we know have our back not a bunch of allies who point fingers at each other. If we do leave all our neighbors are not going to gang up on us like other Atlantis nations want you to believe. They said they would punish Argentina a couple of months ago when they left and then nothing happened. We will still need allies but we will not need a large alliance bloc like Atlantis nations claim that we do.

Revival of Old Programs and Creation of New Programs

Another thing I promised in my last run for president was to reinstate some old programs that were effective back in the beta that had died out over time. Most of these were good ideas however they became harder to manage in the population boom which is really the time we needed it the most. One program I would like to see resurrected is the big brother big sister program. For those of you who do not know what that is its basically a program where new people can find a mentor who will help them out with the game and show them how to be more productive with their Erepublik life. This is going to take a bit of work to reinstate however I plan to get this program off the ground within my first two weeks.

I also plan to expand the Department of Education by assigning more people to work under Tiacha. One of the things I would like to see is a committee in the DoE that will chronicle and archive events that happen within this country and release non biased reports about what has happened in the past month, this way we can get more people involved in the game and get a fair unbiased history to look back on. I would like to see them research the past year as well as other then news articles which are often biased we don't have an accurate account of past events. I would also like to bring back the Citizen Expansion Program to an extent once we get our current population more active.

Another program I want to expand is the CIA. Now we had one of these a while back when one of our citizens attempted (as a joke) to get several southwestern states to secede. Obviously the attempt failed and out of fear and panic president Roby Petric created the FBI and CIA, the problem with this is that it did not have much of a point back then and we have not taken full advantage of it If I were president what I would like to have is an agency that would pay close attention to what is going on internationally by sifting through other countries media, checking their statistics page, and keeping tabs on what their congress and president is doing. It is vital to have the proper intelligence when dealing with foreign nations and if they are leaving key information out in plain sight I don't think we should let it go to waste.

Those are just the major programs I want to create or expand. My goal is to get more people involved in the workings of this country, this will be a challenge given our large size but if we are to truley become a world power we need to have a strong and active population. I will keep the bi-weekly war games through RWs as well.

What I Bring To The Oval Office

Emerick and I have the leadership ability that other candidates seem to lack. This is the most important thing for a president to posses, and I am not one to sit around and just let things happen. I am going to follow the same philosophy I have followed for my entire life if I get elected, that is to set ambitious goals and then move heaven and earth to achieve them. Emerick and I won't just present you the facts, we will present you with the facts and tell you what we plan to do and how we plan to do it. If you don't like it then don't vote for me. The president needs to be someone who can take a stand and defend his position, not someone who diddle daddles around the key issues to please everyone.

Sure we have the top population in the game but America's success is a journey, not a destination. I have the fire in the belly to get this country going strong and that is what I plan to do. So if you want a stronger America then when you go out to vote on the 5th makes sure to vote for Desertfalcon, you won't be disappointed.
