[USWP] Candidature for Party President

Day 2,210, 05:15 Published in USA Poland by Wild Owl

We’re a country on the mend, America. Whether it is regaining the entirety of our states or our increasing damage output witnessed by our allies in battlefields as we bring the hurt to our enemies, we’re rebounding from what was a bleak situation for our country only a few months ago. The United States Workers Party, has also witnessed its fair shares of ups and downs in the year. To continue our growth as a party, I’d like to offer myself to run for the post of Party President of the USWP in December.

Under my leadership, the USWP will continue to expand its recruitment efforts. I intend to get a large number of people involved in our recruitment program, that will involve mass mailing, so that there is no real burn-out for a single player while we enjoy the benefits of increased membership. Current USWP Party President, Gnilraps, has worked extremely hard on helping us shed our “Zombie” theme and develop us more as a “Workers” Party. This is something that I completely agree with, and intend to build upon. As eRepublik players, we’re all bound by the fact that we work daily ingame. I intend to unite all USWP players as Workers as we constantly seek to reinvent and rejuvenate ourselves.

While we have generally been an extremely strong game-mechanics oriented party throughout our history, we have struggled from time to time in the media department. This will be fixed this month, with regular articles by the party leadership and incentives being provided to the memberbase to write and publish more ingame. We will also be looking at ways to improve and increase our forum roster and have discussions there.

I’ve always been interested in having a clear party policy. Most of the growth, media, activity stuff that I’ve said in this article will probably be said by many other PP hopefuls in many other parties as they seek to gain office. A while ago, a friend of mine, Evry, wrote an article in which he called on parties to take a stance on some issues. Some of the questions that were asked were:

1) Do you believe in a fiscally conservative budget that prioritizes saving money for the reserves? Or would you rather spend a bit more money in order to receive more damage on the battlefield or fund social programs?

2) Where do you stand on the Work Tax? Should it be just high enough to cover our budgeted expenditures? Or should it be high enough to allow us to save a little extra?

3) Should we start wars for the sake of starting a war, and keeping our citizens appeased/entertained? Or should we reserve our war-making for when our national security actually depends on it?

4) Should we attempt to become allies with a greater quantity of nations? Or should we instead focus on making better, stronger relationships with just a few allies?

5) Should we focus on teaching newbs how to do things for themselves? Or should we just send them free stuff?

I’d like for us to answer these questions as a party and build some consensus as we move forward into 2014. Parties may be increasingly looked upon as social clubs of individuals, but if we as a party can develop a coherent party policy, it’d be a good start for the rest of eUSA to do the same. To be involved in these discussions, join us on the forums and make your voice get heard.

The USWP has rebounded well, from a slump in the earlier half of the year. I hope to seek your vote as I continue to improve our party, making it better, stronger and more influential. Given the fact that the highs of USWP have generally coincided with the highs of eUSA as a country, you really cannot go wrong by supporting the USWP.

Sincerely,
Wild Owl
