[UKRP] Its all about you

Day 2,385, 13:28 Published in United Kingdom France by Madacaion

In this issue:
- Update on CP Race
- Congressional Corner

Sir Humphrey Appleby will be the UKRP CP candidate. Already publishing his first statement the UKRP campaign looks like its off to a good start. Forming an alliance of the small(er) parties Appleface is looking to uphold the ideas of UKRP while sitting in the big seat.

We are the third way in eUK politics. We are looking to treat others like humans, to give second chances and above all - the prosperity of the eUK must be maintained. We have an opportunity, together as a community, to throw off the two sided bickering and reclaim what made us great: Ideals worth standing for.

I’d personally like to thank WRP/PCP/UKPP for their support of Appleby and the UKRP principles in general. It should be a good race this month.

I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome anyone who has any questions, either about the CP elections or UKRP, to send myself or Appleby a PM and we’ll endeavour to get back to you. If the above sounds like something you’d be interested in, why not come along and try out UKRP for yourself? Make yourself known on the feeds or join us at #UKRP on the rizon server. eUK Congress is actually fairly interesting at the moment - and shows signs of quantum activity. Its both productive and un-productive at the same time. We had a very good UKRP turnout for congress and we have 6 congress members representing the party. As such its only fair that you have a quick update on whats happening in congress.

Firstly, the speaker. Many moons ago the speaker position was created due to the forum/in-game ‘debate’ on how to communicate within congress. The speakers job was to ensure that the PMs were created, if possible they didnt go too far off track and, due to the limitations of the game 2 mass PM’s are needed to get everyone to talk, write a small summary of the interesting points in both PM’s to ensure everyone is on the right page. Finally once these have been made up, its a simple case of proposing and counting votes. Simple right? Apparently not. The speaker, hotfuz, has managed to mess up every mass PM, tried to implement a warning system (which has been completely useless and indeed subject to much ridicule/division already), failed to get two important votes going, is yet to write any form of summary in either PM and has managed to get congress to try to discuss 3 different topics at a time during one thread. While this months congress may not be the most compliant, the failures of the speaker has compounded the issue. Now I must admit, at the start I indeed voted for him, as he was mainly non-vocal in comparison to the other speaker during the P/A/Feck/TO.

I’d like to offer hotfuz one more day to:
1) Work out what system to use
2) Implement it
3) Remove any notion of warnings/minimum numbers etc
4) Try to get people to talk about 1 thing at a time (iAdrastos had a good suggestion)

Failing that - lets get a new speaker. For the sake of my sanity./rant

In terms of discussions, presently I can tell you that we’re in the middle of voting about using the forums again for discussions. A vote on which i’ve abstained on as we’ve currently just had a bit of a shouting match about ingame/metagame/fookdagame and not really came to any compromises. While posting a few suggestions neither ‘side’ commented on these, or if they would help. Seeing as, without agreement, the forumers can’t force the in-gamers to participate and vise-versa I feel its a bit of a moot point.

There are a number of other discussions going on right now. All of which are super sekret but should be announced soon!

Lastly I spoke to a few of our congress members about congress and asked for their opinions:

That's it folks - as ever, feel free to ask any questions,
