[UKGOV] MoFA: World War VI

Day 2,122, 15:11 Published in United Kingdom North Macedonia by Foreign Office

Today I (Boh) will be looking at the opening moves of what has become termed ‘World War VI’ or ‘CoTWO War’. For many months our two blocs worked closely together to defeat the worlds longest lasting alliance; EDEN. This was finally achieved earlier this year with the defection of Romania and Greece effectively ending the final core of what was once EDEN: Cromania (for those unaware, this stands for Croatia and Romania reflecting the closeness of the two nations. There are others in the world who are closely linked like this, such as Spoland and SerbHun). Victory over our old foe brought about the start of the split between Circle of Trust and The World is Ours.

How could this cause a split? The answer lies in the movement of nations including Croatia, Greece, the USA and Romania. With EDEN unable to win the war these nations who were suffering heavily from occupation and constant invasions sought a change seeing Romania and Greece move towards TWO while the US joined CoT. Due to alliance rules, as both Romania and Greece were enemies of CoT they could not longer hold MPPs with TWO nations who had these MPPs. This resulted, in particular, the end of the UK’s MPPs with Bulgaria and Chile after their refusal to re-sign when we forged an MPP with Romania.

However, this is not the only cause of split. Due to historic grievances between Serbia and other TWO nations and the USA the acceptance of this nation into CoT was considered a cause of split between our two alliances. Finally, this breakdown in relations erupted in the invasion of Serbia by America and the start of World War VI. For your pleasure, I even gained an interview with the Secretary-General of TWO at the start of the war: Talon Karrde.

Talon Karrde taking on the challenge

So Talon, tell us a little about your involvement in the UK government and wider alliance politics for those of us who know nothing about you.

Hey there. I'm Talon, named after my favourite character from Star Wars. He's an information broker with a handy habit of being able to talk his way out of situations, and that's something that has also come in handy during my erep political career! I'm a 4 time CP of the UK and a two time Secretary General (Supreme Leader) of TWO. I've also held multiple lesser roles during my time and been involved at the highest level for a lot of time now. I'm also the man that started the CoT war and had a big part in killing EDEN!

A few months back, you held the title of ‘Supreme Ruler of the World’ or, in more common parlance, ‘Secretary-General of TWO’. That month was also the month WW VI between TWO and CoT kicked off; can you let us in on any reasoning behind the war on your part?

Do you want the political answer or the real answer? I could say that TWO was beginning to stagnate a little and needed a new challenge. I could say that CoT had added the USA as a full member and they're our enemy. I could even cite resources or outside pressure. All, while perhaps A truth, would not be THE truth. The simple fact of the matter is that both myself and a group of friends that killing EDEN, stealing its best members, and starting a huge world war with CoT would be really good fun. And so in the months before mine we prepared, and in my tenure as SG that's exactly what we did!

I suppose this has been answered in part already, but what would you say was the greatest legacy resulting from your time as Secretary-General?

Yeah the obvious answer is the glorious victory resulting from our little war, but I'm actually going to focus on something different. That something is the addition of Greece to TWO. I always knew they were good, but just had no idea how good until the last couple of months. One of my Greek friends is SC of the alliance this month, and a few days ago Serbia were in trouble. I saw him snap fingers and about ten crazy Greek tanks all turned up and won us the round in D4. They didn't ask for any special treatment and were willing to spend their own energy bars and rockets to help the alliance. It was quite a sight and I was proud to have laid the groundwork for Greece's entry that day. They're great and I am proud to call them my friends.

Circle of Trust has recently made major gains in Russia and the States, many claiming this is the ‘end of TWO’. Do you agree or do you see it differently?

I certainly agree that they've made gains, because they've become more organised as an alliance. A simple truth is that no single country can stand against multiple others at once in a resistance war, because players are too selfish to move and fight for allies without masses of supplies or combat orders. But is it the end of TWO? Not even close. When the TWO CPs accept that we're weak in RWs and make up for it by starting more direct wars we'll do much better. Citizens still fight via MPP plenty, so if we take the fight to the enemy as we did under me and others, we'll soon find ourselves on top again. I still think we're doing better diplomatically too; there are ex EDEN elements that we can better utilize, and our core is much stronger diplomatically than theirs.

Seeing as nearly every CoT nation has been wiped, which one do/did you get the most satisfaction from seeing wiped, and out of all of the CoT nations which one would you pick to switch sides?

I don't really get satisfaction from anyone being wiped, that's not the game I play. I guess the USA was the biggest achievement, simply due to the number of regions they have. As for switching sides that's a really easy question. Indonesia are my old friends and I miss them, (Ilmimi ) so I'd choose them out of all of CoT. Beforehand I would have said Lithuania and my good friend ZygaLTU, but I already persuaded them to switch!

Thanks for that Talon. Are there any closing thoughts you would like to share with us?

Just that I'm really proud to be a citizen of TWO. As a founding CP it's a great pleasure to see it going strong even now, so many months down the line. The UK is really privileged to count itself alongside some real heavyweights, despite our modest size and damage, so it's great that we get to be a part of this! Thanks for the interview o7

I think it is worth a recap of the early months of WW6. Starting in May 2013 with the American declaration of war upon Serbia the war continues to this day. This declaration was followed by the Hungarian and Ukranian offensive into Russia while in the Baltic region Germany attacked Lithuania, in turn being attacked by the UK. By the end of the month TWO’s major offensive had begun after Russia was removed from the map: The invasion of America. Involving seven TWO and ACT nations (Serbia, Poland, Hungary, UK, Thailand, Montenegro and RoC) which resulted in a wipe of the USA on the 4th July. Mexico, too, fell to TWO and allies. In South America Argentina, our ally, and their forces held of the CoT troops even wiping Brazil and Chile while in the Middle East Turkey and Greece pushed Macedonia and Bulgaria out wiping them from the map. Even Australia was able to liberate their nation from Indonesia with the help of the UK and Iran, although ultimately those nations were forced out of the area. Things looked pretty good for TWO coming into early July.

We will be looking at more recent events and the CoT fightback and the current status of the world.
