[UK Reform] 5th March Announcement: Vote Blue and Evil!

Day 1,931, 18:01 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Thomas765

Hello there,

Over the last couple of days, Cygnus and I have came to an agreement that each of us shall post official party announcements on a regular basis until the end of the term that act as mediums of information, different to the wonderful articles published by our membership. This announcement will cover a variety of important elements within the UK Reform Party, including:

- Country President primary election
- Run up to the party presidential election
- The UK Reform Community
-- Party polling
- Fourth Place
- Design

The Primary Election

After one day of voting, the UK Reform Party has selected to support Blue and Evil for country president after 21 votes were cast. With it being February, the primary election had to be done more hastily and with the party opting to support Blue and Evil with 19 votes to him compared to 0 votes for Goku Jones, the result was conclusive.

Only Blue and Evil made the effort to get our support for the proceeding election.

So it is recommended that all UKRP members vote for Blue and Evil in tomorrow's election!

The Party Presidency

Given that last month we had a large number of candidates for the party presidential elections, we decided to open up polling slightly earlier than usual to make way for another large batch of candidates and to plan a party presidential debate that will be hosted on or before the 12th of March in the form of both IRC and podcast.

So far the candidates that have stepped forward are:
- Cygnus X1
- Dishmcds (albeit jokingly 😛 )
- James Scarlet
- LongshotzZ
- Sir Rex Fleddington
- Thomas765

So far, only LongshotzZ has released his manifesto. I would recommend that all candidates have some idea of what their manifesto will be like by the 11th. To enter the debate for party president, please don't hesitate to sign up here.

The UK Reform Community

In a way, we sort of pride ourselves on being a community that is binded together. Internal division is a thing of the distant past and we all love our fun and discussions together as a party. The party sleeps but only during the night. Our private channel is a hub for activity - activity that the party has rarely seen in the past. For a party that wasn't in the top five on the first day of this month, this is an incredible achievement for us to boast greater activity than some of the bigger parties. I'd actually go as far as saying that #ukrp.private is among the most active channels in the eUnited Kingdom, if not the most active.

We're a party that gets involved in the politics in the game but not for selfish reasons; not to boost our egos. We have fun. We have discussions. We are more than a political party.

As a party that supports multiple form of communication in-game, we like to communicate with our members in multiple ways. Here are some of our statistics as a party:

Peak #ukrp activity: 35 users
Peak #ukrp.private activity: 25 users
Forum posts made since the 8th of February: 995
Average posts per day: 40

We also like to bring creative ideas for party members to get involved. Over the last couple of days, party-wide Supremacy1914 have been started and several new ideas for podcasts have been brought up, including a potential Jeremy Kyle segment that came to mind after a funny moment occurred on IRC last night.

Party polling

So after the last couple of months, the UKRP has been quite the community and I wanted to see who liked what, did what and was what in such a community. Here are some examples:

And so forth.

Fourth Place

As a party that has been on the brink for many months, it's a great achievement when we've been able to propel ourselves from a mere 60 members to 115 in a mere 3 months. Essentially, we've nearly doubled in size and it's been through hard work that we've been able to get to fourth place in the top five again. I want to say a very well done to the party and to say thank you to all who have joined us in the past couple of months. Everyone has made a welcome and fantastic addition to the party.

However, I don't want the gains to end here. We will continue punching above our own weight. 🙂

Design

I'm having a bit of an issue with my photobucket account - it's not playing nice. I have most or all of the UKRP files backed up anyway, so the loss isn't that much.

IRC and forums
Both IRC (to find out more about IRC, click here) and the forums are equally used methods of communicating with our active membership.

IRC
Our public IRC channel is #ukrp on the Rizon network. If you aren't a UKRP member and wish to join us, then feel free to join. If you are a UKRP member, ping any of us ops and we'll get your sorted with access to our private channel. To give you a comparison of our activity, around 15 to 20 people attend IRC at certain times!

For a simple link to our public IRC channel then click here, select your nickname and then speak to one of us in the channel. Someone is usually around most of the time.

Forums
We use the official eUK forums as means of communicating with each other outside of the game. In addition to this, many party activities are organised, planned and started there, so if you want to get further involved in the party then you can join us there.

The forums can be found here: http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/

- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released an article, which can be read here.
- The Ministry of Defence has been quite active in the media lately. They have recently done a strike between the UK Armed Forces military units, details of which can be found here. They have also released battle orders for the United Kingdom, which can be found here
- The alliance that the UK is a member of has recently published their news article. Click here to read The World is Ours or TWO's article.
