[UK]Normalising The World Again
As the dust settles, we look around at the World. Does it look the same to you? Obviously not, or you would be considered stupid and blind.
War - Finally, a change in tactics
During the invasion of the United States, several things came to light that half the World (looking at EDEN and Fortis) didn't know before:
1. When MPP's and multiple fronts are open, there's no point in fighting back. You won't win. You came close a couple of times, and there were fun, epic battles along the way. I was proud to take part in most, including Ontario, California, and Texas, representing my country and my alliance. It truly was fun for most involved, even those who lost had a good bit more fun than they thought they ever could in a game like Erepublik.
2. The War Module has various tactics that can be put to good use. Both sides have used them before. Claims of bias and corruption and "broken war module" being as rampant as they are, you were not using those same claims as Romania invaded Hungary, India, and their foreign lands. You did not make the claims of "abuse" when Sweden and Poland decimated Germany. At those points, the War Module "was great". The problem was the lack of tactics from the very beginning. Only 1/3 of the way through the war did their use begin, and even then those tactics resulted in the complete disasters that happened in Spain, North Korea, Canada, and Switzerland. That same disaster happens to the United States right now. When Romania region swapped with Norway, Finland, etc to keep their regions safe, it was OK. When PEACE followed suit to keep the US or Canada from counterattacking, it was "outrageous".
Let's face facts: The United States will be left with Florida, your long treasured Fortress, or a poor region that you can't possibly exist from. Most of your companies are behind enemy lines, for sale, or resulting in 50% income taxes which it won't be able to sustain. This war is over, and a new phase of it is beginning.
For me, it's nice to see some new tactics being used. Resistance Wars are popping up in many countries, who up until now did not see much action. They can be fun to participate in. PEACE is finally seeing some competition with EDEN and Fortis troops adandoning proper defences to form a Resistance War Squad. They have been highly successful thus far, although their main opponent, the UK, was not a "Military Powerhouse" by any means. In Hungary, France, or even Iran they'll certainly have more difficulty. South Korea has come back to the map, and we're seeing a more diverse political landscape in terms of Foreign Affairs.
That's the refreshing part. Things change. Ideals change. People change. If you listen hard enough to the sounds around you, you might actually enjoy Erepublik again.

This article takes a lot of space to say little.

If it weren't true Publius, you wouldnt waste your time following me around.

"If it weren't true Publius, you wouldnt waste your time following me around."
That just doesn't make sense. In the interest of helping you debate (you were looking for tips yesterday), I offer this:
<a href="http://danielmiessler.com/wp-content/uploaded_content/2008/11/argument-pyramid.jpg" target="_blank">http://danielmiessler.com/wp-content/upl[..].jpg</a>
More comments than votes, gogogo.
And in the interest of actually teaching you something, I offer this"
<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Source_credibility" target="_blank">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Source_cred[..]lity</a>
It might show you something in regards to what you're saying. If you don't like the article, fine. I really don't care. But if what I said wasn't true, you wouldn't follow me around like a small puppy.
Now, on to bed, young man.
"That's the refreshing part. Things change. Ideals change. People change. If you listen hard enough to the sounds around you, you might actually enjoy Erepublik again."
Couldn't agree more; wish ALL would follow this sentiment! Regardless of where people stand idealogically, it is an exciting time in eRepublik!
You don't understand that most of the US population NEVER experienced ANYTHING from the Atlantis era, if you want to punish those people for their evil "imperialism" then do it verbally otherwise you're committing the same atrocities.
After re-reading I take back some of my previous comments, however it seems outrageous because most of us had never experienced just how unfair the war module is/was since like I said the majority are new and inexperienced.
The point, Moot, is that when the War Module favored you and your allies, it was all cool. When those same tactics favored you, you applauded them.
Now that they've been not only used against you, but done in a superior manner (the war was on a much larger scale so everything had to be much better timed and executed), they're "unfair".
The US and it's allies are learning them. That's a good thing, as it makes them a much stronger, more viable opponent. Congratulations on that. Continue down that path, the war will change focus, and it will push the strategic planners even harder and better. That's somewhat the point of a game.
Your leaders knew about it. They should've been ready to counter it.
Then again you would need competent leaders.
"When Romania region swapped with Norway, Finland, etc to keep their regions safe, it was OK."
Romania has never swapped regions with Finland.
^^^^^^^^^^ but norway has......... verywelldone
