[UK GOV] Thank you Serbia

Dear friends,

It has been a good two years now since I met my first eSerbians in the game. When I bumped into Kistru and co, they were kicking around PEACE command making a lot of noise. A relatively new country with a big punch, they were the new kids on the block. At the time, the UK was just entering PEACE ourselves, and so we had the same feeling of being new and alone in the alliance. Almost straight away we made friends, because we saw in each other the same desire to make big changes to our alliance and to the world. Though not many people would say that British and Serbs are similar in the way they think or act, we made friends easily and helped each other with our weak areas 😃

Over the next 2 years that friendship deepened into a bond of brotherhood. Even though we are far apart, and will not often have the same goals, we have always maintained that close relationship. UK has always given Serbian battles first priority. Sometimes whilst we were being invaded and wiped, UK troops were deployed to Serbia to help. I remember during one of the (many) battles for Vojvodina, there was a battle at the same time for East of England (borders London). It was one of the strangest days ever, because the entire UK army was deployed to Serbia and fighting there (we had BH for a while) and at the same time Serbia deployed some of its troops to help us 😛 Neither of us spoke to each other, both just sent to help a friend. It was very heart warming if a bit confusing for us both 😛

When the UK joined Terra back at the beginning of the year I was pretty annoyed. It was unneeded for us to commit to an alliance, and I thought it would mean the end of our friendship. But the UK congress voted for it and so that was that. But despite being in an enemy alliance, which fought with EDEN, Serbia still offered us friendship. Throughout our time in Terra, UK troops refused to fight against any of the former PHX countries in ONE out of our old friendship. It was a hard time for all of us, and leaving Terra has made it much easier for us to follow our hearts 🙂

Now the world has changed a lot since we first met back in PEACE. Serbia has grown up into one of the fathers of the world, and many young countries like Macedonia look up to you as you once looked up to Grandpa Hungary 😛 Our countries have aged gracefully though, and we are still friends. In the UK, Serbia is consistently voted time and again as one of our closest allies by the general public. Personally, I consider Serbia to be my second home in this game, and have always given everything I can to the country. I hope that in two years time, if the game still exists, we can look back and say the same things again.
