So without further ado...the candidates!

Scotland!

Scotland the brave! We have two smashing candidates for you this month.

First up is SmithieTwice Scottish Congressman. Smithie is experienced and has been involved in Scotland all his e-life. He was one of the pioneers of the Scottish Clan Council and is involved with local Scottish politics to this day. If you’re a new player on the forums, one of the first things you’ll see is Smithie’s welcome message.

I have spoken to Smithie several times on the IRC, and he seems to me to be a sensible and pragmatic player. Exactly the kind of man we need to be making crucial decisions about issues such as taxes and MPPs. We need someone who can understand and contribute to sensitive debates, and can support the government during these difficult times. I think that Smithie would be an excellent choice of local congressman for Scotland’s players.

Whilst we’re on the topic of excellent congressmen, let me introduce Malta_1990, no less than nine times a congressman, party president and even President of the eUK. Malta is currently serving on our most dangerous battlefields as a Special Forces soldier, reflecting his high strength and skills. He has in the past held various ministerial roles, including Minister of Information and Education (precursor to the Minister of Legislation and Minister of Home Affairs) and basically did the job of two people.

Malta is also heavily involved with the Scottish Clan Council and was a founding member. He has been committed to Scotland for as long as I’ve known him and has always passionately defended the region. His past expertise and knowledge of politics make him an excellent representative. If you want someone who can vote on issues like declaring war, issuing money and so on from a position of past experience of the Presidential seat then vote Malta_1990.

North East England!

The North-East, my home in real life! I have saved a personal favourite chap of mine for this seat, and I think you’ll love him.

Pensive was born on a cold wintery night, somewhere in the middle of the North Sea. It is rumoured that at his birth an aging fisherman gave him his hat as a present, and since then Pensive has loved hats. Oh and the Navy.

As a Navy man Pensive knows all about giving it all for his country, Sitting up late at night donating precious iron so hundreds of sailors can work in the Royal Navy iron foundries requires a level of commitment that makes him an ideal MP. As a Navy Commodore he knows about responsibility to, and how much a group of people can become as close as a family. As congressman for the North-East, Pensive would be as much a representative as a leader, and would take your concerns forward with the same passion he does in the navy.

He is also capable of making tough decisions and supporting every citizen. If you haven’t already, you should add him as a friend. He will make sure that throughout this war you are safe, within the borders of the UK and above a decent wellness. He’s also not frightened to take on the biggest figures in politics to represent you. So vote Pensive in the North East.

North West England!

Hello North West! One of our best regions, and one which traditionally has always returned strong MPs. This month an old favourite of yours is making a comeback. James Glover, author of the newspaper Telegraph, three times MP and member of the Special Forces. James last ran in the North-West in November and won the seat with 24 votes. This time he is hoping to come back with an even stronger public mandate.

I know James quite well, as he has been a member of my party for a long time. Born in March, he has always been a plain speaking honest Member of Parliament. He isn’t here to bore you with long rhetorical speeches; we have enough people around who can do that! No, he’s here for representation, and honesty. If you want someone who will go into parliament and say what he feels and make his points heard then he is the man for you. His 500+ subscribers mean that his views will be well heard as well, which is important for a regional representative.

Yorkshire & Humber!

Ah beautiful Yorkshire. Called God’s own county, Yorkshire was where I was eBorn and where I have spent the majority of my political life, representing the region six times in congress. This month I have returned to my party roots as Party President, and my political roots as a candidate for the UK’s greatest region. In case any of you are wondering, I am asking you to vote Iain Keers for Yorkshire & Humber.

What do I want to do for the region? Well when I was eBorn back in December 2008 we had a massive community in Y&H. Of those people I met back then many are still by my side today. Indiekid, Robalbinio, Count Drakula (my first running mate) amongst others. I want to recreate that sense of community by making the region into what any region can be (practically speaking) which is a group of mates that can support each other when they need it with advice, support and maybe a little bit of funds.

I am also capable of representing Y&H nationally, with my long experience as a Minister, Congressman, special advisor and Phoenix Treasurer. All this taken together means I can do the job of congressman. So I ask you humbly to spare me a vote this time round and let me keep the ball rolling for Britain.

West Midlands!

In West Midlands I have an entirely fresh face for you! Rathar got involved very recently but is one of our most active members. I told him how many citizens move regions during their eLife and he said he never wanted to move out of West Midlands unless it was to defend the UK, very admirable! So a West Midlands man through and through!

Fed up of local MPs not giving much to the region and just getting in touch during election time, Rathar took the advice of several of his fellow region members and decided to run. In the last two weeks he has been talking to members daily about important issues which have been accentuated by the recent war, including gifting for the poor and affordable housing. He hopes to take new ideas for these policies forward as an MP representing West Midlands. If you want someone who will represent your region and your country with the diligence, honesty and integrity you deserve, vote Rathar.

East Midlands!

Well East Midlands is a veritable breeding ground for excellent MPs, and this month is no different. We have two candidates for you to choose from this month, both of whom have their own unique qualities that make them a good choice for any voter!

First up we have Asher Di Immortales who is currently in congress representing the East Midlands for TUP. Asher is a solid representative for the region, something which is reflected in his two terms there as MP. Asher, like many of our younger members, is active in the Royal Navy and works in their companies and as a Lieutenant on the HMS Daedalus. He is a committed and confident player, and participates very strongly in the Unity Party. Asher is active, committed, and quite rightly proud of East Midlands. East Midlands was one of the first regions to introduce a successful regional chat on IRC, and it is open to this day.

Asher can use his experience as an MP and twice under-Minister of Home Affairs to help represent and lead the East Midlands people through this difficult time. He has a strong history of helping young players and I know he has my confidence leading East Midlands through the coming month.

Dan Moir is also running in East Midlands, and lucky UK to have the choice of two great candidates. Dan was MP for East Midlands back in October, and has been super active since then. Dan didn’t rerun for election in November or December to let other players run, but now he is back with a vengeance. Well known in the forums for his straight talking ways, he is an excellent choice of MP.

Dan too was under-Minister of Home Affairs, which is a common choice for TUP members, dealing as it does with helping new players. He also has experience in the Ministry of Trade, and owns a business in the region. Dan is always the first one to offer honest help and advice to new players, and the last one to give up on a hard job. He has given his time and effort to the navy for two months, and now he has decided the best way for him to support and help the eUK is as a congressman.

Please vote Dan Moir or Asher Di Immortales in East Midlands.

East of England!

Well, in East of England this month we have the esteemed Lord Weiis running for congress! Lord Weiis was my main contender for the position of PP this month and proved himself to be committed, intelligent and strong minded. Exactly the sort of person this country needs in congress in other words!

Running in East of England is always a tricky one. The public of the region are well known as being intelligent and balanced in deciding their vote, and it would be a challenge for any candidate to win them over. However I believe Weiis has a strong chance. He has experience as a Minister of Work, and underMinister experience for several months. He has been a congressman himself no less than four times, and is looking forward to the election this month as well.

Weiis’ experience in cabinet and high office make him an excellent high-profile representative for the East of England region. In him you get someone strong minded, well known and respected all in one! I strongly suggest you consider voting Lord Weiis on the 25th of January.

South-East of England!

Ah, South-East England. No surprises this month, we have Stefan1992 running once again to represent you! Alongside him however we are running Christopher J Adshead and older citizen who has decided that the time has come to get more involved in politics!

So: Stefan. Stefan needs no introduction; he is a man who has represented the South East for nine months now. However I will give you a little background anyway. Stefan has (in addition to his time as a congressman) served in roles as an ambassador, Party President of TUP and Minister of Foreign Affairs. He is a taciturn man, in that he says little, but everything he says is worth listening to. He has been Chairman of South East Council and overseen the giving out of welcome baskets to new forum members.

Stefan is a great guy, and contributes a lot to the life of the South East. He has proven his commitment, his dedication and resolve to the UK. I am confident that he will be a good MP should you return him for a tenth term in office.

Christopher J Adshead is an old player who coincidentally was born on the same day as me! Originally a member of the Movement for Democratic Unity, when he joined TUP he brought with him his sense of community that distinguished that party. Since then he has contributed a lot to the party, in terms of advice, comments and help for other members.

I know Christopher will take these same values forward as an MP. It is sometimes harder to decide who to vote for in a region with more than one great MP. If you want a fresh face in SE, who will give you commitment and resolve, vote for Christopher J Adshead.

London!

London is both our capital and our greatest defence against the hordes of EDEN. It’s huge population makes it a daunting task for any candidate, but TUP have found two great ones for your region.

Firstly, the incumbent MP Coram_Boy. Coram won the last election as a wildcard, but has shown the commitment to the role needed to get first place on the Unity Party ballot this month. He has a great political career ahead of him, and is respected because he always dedicates himself to others. In the Unity Party Coram is one of our rising stars, and I’m proud to place him first on the ballot this month.

Secondly, we have the amazing Wallyboy444 on the ballot for the first time in some months. Wallyboy is an ex-commander of the Special Forces as well as a three time London MP. He has the intelligence and capability to lead Londoners during the war, and I hope you have the confidence in him he deserves. Wallyboy was involved with the London Council throughout his time as a paratrooper, and though the council is closed down now I expect him to pursue his career as an MP with the same dedication.

South-West England!

Hello South-West England! Have I got a treat for you. Who is running in your region but our very own resident super-star Mr Woldy!. Woldy has come out of retirement and back into mainstream politics, and is running for election in South West.

So what is Mr Woldy’s experience? Well he is currently Minister of Foreign Affairs (neutral countries) for the UK, and for the last three months he was President of the United Kingdom! So his experience is extensive and broad. He is also serving as deputy Secretary General of Phoenix, the alliance of which the UK is a member. He has served as an MP six times before that, and as PP of The Unity Party twice. He is definitely one of the big stars of modern Britain.

So why should you vote for him? Well Woldy brings the same passion and excitement he brought as Country President to everything he does. Having Woldy as your MP would mean you’d have a representative with dedication, with a great sense of humour and with a great moustache! So if you are wondering who to vote for in the South West, I can’t recommend Mr Woldy more highly!

Wales!

Well what would Wales be without Karacticus? When I think of Wales what springs to mind is his chirpy and witty articles published in his much underrated newspaper, his Welsh baritone and his irrepressible confidence. For many months Wales voted for Karacticus because of his dedication. He’s now ensconced in the UK House of Lords retirement home, so lest he get used to watching the grass grow I’ve called him out of retirement to make sure Wales gets a good strong candidate for TUP.

Karacticus has experience as an MP serving in Wales four times, but also as a Minister, as Minister of Home Affairs. He has worked in that Ministry for many months, supporting and guiding young players from all around the UK. If you’re a young player and you need help or guidance, he is the man to get in touch with. I could go on, but I fear I might get a bit soppy. Karacticus is an excellent chap and would be a great #1 choice for Wales

Northern Ireland!

Finally, Northern Ireland! One of our largest regions, Northern Ireland has long been represented by a string of military men. Now however, a native of the region has chosen to stand. So first up: Jacen Molare, long time MP for Northern Ireland. I first met Jacen as a young player in TUP. He was kicking around the party before I was eBorn, and was well known for his radical yet peaceful views on foreign affairs. He always supported smaller, more caring alliances; closer, better relations. As Treasurer of Phoenix and a leader of one of the larger alliances, I respect Jacen for his honesty and his ability to compromise. He would make an excellent representative for both the UK as a whole and Northern Ireland.

Secondly, we have another older player, Teh User making a comeback this election. Teh User is a big fan of Northern Ireland and lived there for a long time during his military career. Now, he will be standing there representing TUP. Teh has been in congress an amazing seven times, so he has bags of experience to spare. He is a hard worker and always willing to go the extra mile. After a period of rest he has returned to the game all guns blazing, and I hope that you will give him the chance to show his abilities in full. Vote Teh User and Jacen Molare for eNorthern Ireland.

Conclusion!

Finally I would like to thank all our excellent candidates, all our voters and everyone who has contributed to the party so far this term. Since the beginning of my term the response has been incredible and we’re reaching new peaks of activity. However there is still a long way to go yet. If you’re interested in getting involved more deeply, perhaps becoming an MP yourself, then get in touch with me now.

Best wishes, and thanks for reading,

Iain Keers
TUP Party President
