[TSB] War. War Never Changes.

Day 2,491, 05:44 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by The Norfolk

Hello all,

I return to you with yet another article bitching about things and stuff I tried to use today. This article is going to revolve around the military module and all its wonders.

Without further ado, let's begin.

Oh sweet mother of attractiveness.

So what world war are we in now? III, V, X? (Yes I can Roman numeral, what of it?) We seem to have devolved into a state of permanent world war, and that got old a long time ago. It's not surprising when wars are free, when we have auto-attack (What fuck thought of that?) and when the economy is entirely reliant on war. That's not to mention the extreme lack of tactics, you don't even need a fucking CP to win wars. Congress could pass a NE, 24 hours after it passes auto attack would kick in and battle would commence. 24 hours after battles' end the next would begin and so on until the enemy country was wiped. Holy shit. That's ridiculous. It wouldn't be so bad if there was still something to fight for, resources don't mean shit when you have sooo much over production, hell, the only region that matters anymore is the population filled capital, the rest is just filler.

It 's gotten beyond silly now man. Please for the love of all things good, make war fun again. Make resources worth something, let us build fortifications, give us tactics, let us destroy and build countries, make war expensive, make war hard, make war fun.

Save the cheerleader, save the world.

Disregarding the futility of the military module, I venture into battle bleary eyed. I did my part then waited, and waited then waited some more. it took six minutes for another guy to show up, exciting huh? Bear in mind this is a battle with 12 allies involved, some 32,00 players. This is what happens when you have so many battles raging at once, you go from having a couple good battles to a dozen shit ones, it makes zero fucking sense.

Okay okay, how about the actual battles, are they fun? I'll give it to them, they have their moments, on the other hand they have some god awful parts too. Given the theme of this series you know which parts I'm going to focus on. Hint: It's the god awful parts. First off, the length. Battles last for a minimum of 12 hours, not too long really but when you have to win four divisions eight times for a battle that is just a distraction, it gets tiresome. Especially when there're five of the fuckers everyday of every fucking day.

We need a battle module that ends quickly when there's no fight to be had, one that offers action and purpose throughout its duration, one that rewards cooperation and one that makes battles legendary again. Give us 5-8 walls in a region to knock down, each wall/sector having a bonus to whomever holds it. Give the attackers an hour or so to make a dent then once that's over it goes to sudden death. Once the walls are either restored or destroyed, that's game over. I may be biased but I think that'd be a much more exciting battle to fight in. Tell me I'm wrong. I welcome the debate.

Last lovely lady I'm afraid.

As the more perceptive amongst you may have clocked, I'm running out of anger at this game. I can only keep it up for so long. I'm not angry anymore, I'm just disappointed. Soon my anger may return but until then I'm going to hold off writing my articles. In the mean time I'm going to embark on a new project. I aim to bring together a bunch of you guys and set out a comprehensive statement of what your average players want changed in this game, with the end goal of sending off to the administration. If you're willing to help out, throw me a PM.

Alright,

I'm out.
