[tl;dr] Details on how to defeat military objectives

Day 2,902, 14:08 Published in Germany Denmark by n0s3

Hai guise,

even though the current event is coming to an end and there are merely two more days left, I'd like to share the little bit of knowledge I have about the military objectives - more precisely: about the process of defeating them.

Some things I'd like to point out before we're getting to the point:

When I'm talking about HP (either here or in my shouts), I'm referring to the objective's health points. Unless you use scripts (something which a good and well-behaving eRep user would never do - and Josx wouldn't either), you see the mere health bar below an objective, visualizing the HP left; but to make accurate calculations, we're going to need the numbers which will be provided later on. Point being: HP = objective's health points, energy = the player's energy. Don't mix them up.

The amount of damage dealt to the objective depends on the number of kills made by the individuals of a regiment. In other words, in order to use up the least amount of energy possible, you have to do 1-hit kills only, which can be achieved by using zookas. Whether you defeat an enemy with a zooka or a Q7 weapon makes basically no difference in terms of damage dealt to the objective - zookas are just the means to use up as little energy as possible and to save time you'd have to spend on eating energy bars if you were needing more hits/kill. It might not sound too important, but recovering energy takes more time than many of you are possibly thinking.

Furthermore, the damage you deal to the objective decreases with each kill until it hits a certain point. This decrement applies to you and the currently deployed objective only. If you have made a certain amount of kills, you'll deal a mere 30% of the initial damage, while someone else from your regiment might not have hit yet and will still deal 100%. Upon the next deployment, you'll start with 100% again.

Alright, that's that. Now let's get to the details, though there's really not much to tell.

As already mentioned, your influence doesn't matter, but your kills do. The first time you're defeating an enemy once an objective has been deployed, you're causing 100 points of damage to it. The damage you're dealing continually decreases kill by kill until it's down to 30 damage/kill after you've defeated 39 enemies.
The amount of damage can be seen in the following table:

I guess that's pretty self-explanatory.

In order to know whether you're going to defeat an objective or not and how hard you need to try, you obviously need to know how many HP it has. It needs to be said that they are getting harder and harder to beat and by now it's impossible for a one-man MU to destroy them. Even MUs with a handful of soldiers might have problems. As it's not my intention to write another novel as I usually do, I'll just drop the numbers for the objectives thus far:

1st objective had 10k HP,
2nd objective had 30k HP,
3rd objective had 90k HP,
4th objective had 200k HP,
5th objective had 400k HP (thanks Cl Cristian),
6th objective has 600k HP (thanks again, Cristian).

If I had enough time and the event wasn't going to be over in two days, I'd just create a spreadsheet for you to check how many kills it takes every soldier in your regiment to destroy an objective. But as I have accumulated a huge sleep deficit and because it's just simple maths, there's no reason why you wouldn't be able to do some calculations yourself. :>

The article might sound a bit weird at one point or another which is, again, due to my lack of sleep. It's merely for informational purposes, so if there's something you don't understand, feel free to ask.
