[TED] Wipe of eBelgium: My Opinion

Today in the first time for years I will not be elected in the eBelgian congress which will give the opportunity to Kravenn to steal my second place in number of congress medal of eRepublik (yeah, that’s a shame). Being the eRepublik player with the most congress medals is my main target in the game.

However, despite of that I agreed recently, along with several eBelgian people, to let eBelgium be wiped for a long duration. We have been facing for a while a growing political take over threat that were initiated by some eBelgians but fastly grown out of their hands and is currently controlled by greedy foreigners. Recent attempts to make them move away such as the removal of the state money from the state account or seizing the power of the different political parties of eBelgium has been shown to not be efficient and we were forced to move to the worst but latest possible measure: complete wipe.

Thanks to the strength of Poland, we are certain that no resistance war will be able to succeed, and even in the case that a resistance war would get close to success, I am confident in the fact that several strong eBelgian fighters would stand up to keep us wiped as long as the threat will remain. It will probably take several months before we can consider ourselves as safe, but it will be worth it on the long term and safety has no price.

I have nothing against foreigners joining Belgium (the current CP isn’t Belgian RL)as several of them already ruled our country with more or less success (same can be said from the Belgians 😉) but until now, none of them has ever wanted to act for his sole personal benefit and always acted for the greater good of the country. We have never seen any major stealing of the treasury until now and we have to keep it that way. The current wipe and the emptying of the treasury through donations to all citizens and bank managers will make sure that the only citizens who will remain will be the ones who will really cherish eBelgium and will be the ones who really wants to play eRepublik as eBelgian.

Even if some people will still consider this approach as too extreme and will complain, I will back up the wipe as long as it will be necessary and I would like to thanks Poland who accepted to help us during those hard times as well as MaryamQ who got the balls (if I may say) to do what had to be done (and I’d also like to thanks JdlF who created the Bank Manager, which was something that should have been done earlier).

Some people will criticize the fact that things are decided “in private” and that the general population is not aware of the decisions taken. A political take over is not something that has to be taken lightly and they can make use of information to counter appropriate measures through propaganda or simply voting against laws (only 1/3rd of NO in a NE law would have made our wipe attempt void, which would have surely happened if the plan had been released prior to the actual attack). I know that full transparency is an ideal that some people would like to have but this can only be possible in a world where everyone is nice, which is not the case. I have been following the politics for a while and almost every months there are decisions/things done in secret (either by the government/congress/opposition or whatever) that are not revealed to the public because it would cause more harm to reveal it than to keep it secret. And I therefore believe that not everything has to be told.

I wish good luck to the current and future presidents to be able to keep our country strong, keeping us wiped until the threat is over.
