[TB] Why MrCarey has my Vote

Day 2,875, 22:22 Published in USA USA by Tyler Bubblar

During the early part of this Summer I had a plan. Looking around the national stage I saw what everyone with any small ability of discernment see: pretty much the same people in the same positions over and over. Key departments such as State, Chief of Staff, and NSC Chair were rotating between an increasingly small number of increasingly over burdened tenured players. Everyone has their theory as to why. I will share with you mine.

Since Frost wrapped up his latest CP term approximately two years ago, with the exception of Wild Owl (and then myself in July) every CP was a first time President when first stepping into office. I will state that a slightly different way for the last 24 months 20 of those were under a President Serving in that role for the first time. For clarification I am counting any second terms these Presidents won consecutive to their first.

One may wonder what the above statistic has to do with stagnation in key roles. My belief is a first time President is going to staff as much experience as possible to help them. I know that is the approach I took during my first two terms. So as I said in early Summer a plan began to formulate in my head. What if I ran for CP and put eager fresh players into key roles and pulled from every major group to revamp a stagnating Executive? I learned a lot during my first two terms as CP. Instead of feeling that I needed to lean on experienced players I could instead give up and comers a chance to build valuable experience of their own.

Integral to this was Chief of Staff. With an ambitious domestic program in mind, and with so many personalities to be brought in from diverse groups I knew I would need a rare individual to help me manage the Cabinet. Enter MrCarey. I first met MrCarey when I was running for President a year ago (September 2014), he was the Media director for WTP, and asked to interview me as part of their Election coverage.

We arranged to meet on IRC, and conducted the interview. During the interview I asked Carey if he would be willing to work in the National Media department to which he agreed. True to his word for the first several weeks of my term he was an active contributor to WHPR. Anyone who has had the job of SecMed could tell you contributors that actually contribute segments are worth their weight in gold.

However, that would not be the extent of Carey’s service during my administration. I had an absentee Secretary of Education something Carey brought to my attention. He had for more than a week submitted answers to the Question of the Day with no response from the Education Department. I offered MrCarey the position of Secretary of Education. He again accepted the offer to serve, and did a fantastic job. He was exceptional in juggling the duties of WTP Party President and SecEd during my second term.

With that in mind he was my first choice for Chief of Staff. So I approached him, explained my plans and vision for another TB administration and asked if he would be willing to fill that key role. After taking a day or two to think it over, and a conversation with Israel Stevens he once again accepted my request for him to serve. I am extremely glad that he did. He took his duties seriously. He was meticulous, and organized. He kept things on point, stomped on the rare occurrences of bickering, and treated those who did their jobs well with courtesy and respect. He and I would meet on IRC just about every night to discuss the ongoing business of the various departments, Foreign Affairs, and military operations.

I am not nearly as involved in the Executive this month. Aramec has done a great job this month. The eUSA is an Empire and we are number one in the Country Power rankings. The Departments continue to run smoothly, and MrCarey has once again filled the key role of Chief of Staff for this very successful month with the ambitious domestic programs Aramec brought to the table. I absolutely believe MrCarey will be a fantastic CP because he has worked hard and excelled in every post he has ever held. That is why I will be voting for MrCarey on October 15th 2015. I sincerely hope that my fellow citizens will join me in doing so.

As a closing note I need to add that MrCarey won the Federalist Party Primary, but due to some internal timing issues with RL vacations and events we did not get him Endorsed in game, Party Leadership is extremely apologetic and embarrassed for this mishap. It is not something we will allow to happen again.
