Το νόημα της φιλίας σε επτά φωτογραφίες
Το καλοκαίρι του 1982, πέντε φίλοι που έκαναν διακοπές στη λίμνη Κόπκο της Νότιας Καλιφόρνια, έβγαλαν αναμνηστική φωτογραφία καθισμένοι σε ένα παγκάκι του πάρκου. Ο ένας από αυτούς κρατούσε ένα βάζο. Από τότε πέρασαν 30 χρόνια, όμως ...οι φίλοι έδωσαν μια υπόσχεση μεταξύ τους. Να ανανεώνουν το ραντεβού τους κάθε πέντε χρόνια στο ίδιο σημείο, στο ίδιο παγκάκι, κρατώντας το ίδιο βάζο!
Οι πέντε φίλοι τήρησαν την υπόσχεσή τους, όπως αποδεικνύουν οι φωτογραφίες.
Real friendship in seven photos
With the emergence of digital photography , seeing timelapse of a person aging isn’t all that crazy. But back in 1982, five high school friends took a group photo that they would recreate for the next 30 years. These photos, taken at Lake Copco in California, capture teenage friends John Wardlaw, John Dickson, Mark Rumer, Dallas Burney and John Molony as they reunited every 5 years at the lake. It’s pretty amazing to see both the physical and wardrobe changes that occur during a man’s life.
The first few photos were taken with John Wardlaw‘s 35mm film camera by using his trusty self timer. The series then changed to digital format with the guys deciding to pick out reoccurring shirts and hats for a more consistent flair.
It is tough enough to capture one person over 30 years let alone 5 guys in the same location. I think it’s also pretty cool to the bond of friendship not broken over such a long period of time; how many people can say they have that sort of camaraderie?
