[Speaker] Congress news : Lot of infos for UK population

Day 2,132, 06:08 Published in United Kingdom Greece by Kravenn

I know that in a couple of days : it will be congress elections and this article will probably be my last one (as speaker) for this term.

Even if I wanted to be more active on these last days : I don’t hide that my activity decreased a bit. There was 2 reasons :
- The first one was that I was a bit busy with real life (Most of the time : I can manage with that)
- The second one : I caught flu. Well, we aren’t anymore in summer, we are in autumn and sadly flu is coming back. Take care, I’m probably one of the firsts who caught it but I know that I won’t be the last.

Following that, even if it was scheduled to organise PMQ with WookieO : I have no other choice than cancel them (Being always tired and in my bed doesn’t help). I’m simply unable to organise that on this moment. I hope that you will understand me there.

Since the last Speaker article :a lot of events happened in UK

I won’t talk here about Natural Enemy law against Belgium because it was on last Speaker article.

The real first debate was about reduce import taxes on food. Our Minister of Finances (Emergy Maxfell) suggested the debate and it was launched on the same time via mass mailer and on the forum. The main reason to reduce the import tax (from 75 to 1😵 was the last contest organised by our “beloved” admins.

Emergy listened him, and congress members too

We knew that lot of food should be bought on the market place. If several foreigners propose their food on our market : UK should receive VAT + import tax (1😵. 75% rate was made to protect our population : better to buy food to our own citizens but in the case of the contest : it was almost sure that we shouldn’t be self sufficient. We were right : Shortly after the beginning of the contest, price of a Q5 food raised to £2 (and almost every country was in the same case).

Proposal to reduce Import tax on food (from 75 to 1😵 was accepted : 31 YES - 0 NO

Also : War lovers received for their money. House of commons voted in favor of 2 Natural enemy laws.

The first one was against Bulgaria.

For those who didn’t followed last events, our lithuanians friends had a lot of Scandinavians regions. Bulgaria decided to launch an airstrike on them to help Asgard (Finland - Sweden and Norway). However, shortly after that : Romania launched an airstrike on Bulgaria (on one of their scandinavian regions). Romania easily defeated Bulgaria but these last ones tried to escape.

That’s why Bulgarian CP decided to choose UK as natural enemy. Shortly after, a counter proposal was made. Once Bulgarian CP voted in favor of the war with UK (he is the only BG citizen who has the right to vote), our congress massively voted in favor of the war.

Natural enemy law (Bulgaria as Natural Enemy) was accepted with 30 YES and 2 NO

With the help of our allies (Greece, RoC, Argentina, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, Colombia, Romania, … and other TWO and ACT friends), UK was victorious and Bulgaria was out of the map.

Summary of the 2 wars, with good political choices, good allies and also all the courage of the population

Few hours later, UK received serious threats from the other side of the Channel. France clearly mentioned that they wanted to choose UK as Natural enemy. To achieve that, they successfully launched a Resistance war in North Calais but with congress informed : We were faster than them to put the natural enemy law. Be the first there means having the initiative (and choose when you want to attack the region).

Talks with former french president (he was impeached on September 20) weren’t a success (and it was mentioned that eUK wasn’t specially looking after that war). Due at a good timing for the attack and a nice help from our allies : UK was once again victorious.

Oops : I forgot to mention that the natural enemy law against France was easily accepted by 28 YES and 2 NO.

PS : after the war, we learnt that after winning a couple of battles (mainly against Slovenia), they wanted to continue that against another country. UK suspected that because France was accepted into CoT as trial : these last ones asked that France opens a war against UK. CoT had nothing to do with that. It was simply because Former french CP (Liberticide) wanted it that a war was opened.

An impeachment against WookieO was proposed :

6 days ago, one of our congress members launched an impeachment against our CP. The reason behind that was quite obvious. WookieO launched a MPP proposal with Albania (which is an UK enemy). In fact, WookieO wanted to renew MPP with Spain (one of our allies) but he had a bug and proposed Albania (first country on the list).

Few minutes later, an impeachment proposal was launched. WookieO apologises to congress and published an article to explain what happened. The Impeachment was considered as rogue which means that a huge part of our congress voted NO (meaning that current CP keeps his job).

Final result was clear : REJECTED by 3 YES and 27 NO

Last debate : our relations with Ireland.

Since WookieO received keys from 10 downing street : Agreement between UK and Ireland was over. However, more than 15 UK citizens decided to join Ireland and ask citizenship there. A couple of them received it. One of them ( Sir Winston S Churchill) decided to create a military unit in Ireland and launched invite to join it to his friends in UK. Currently, this MU has around 60 citizens (lot of them have UK citizenship).

This military unit doesn’t hide its intentions : Being an Anti UK MU. Following that, WookieO and the irish CP launched talks to find an agreement and avoid potential conflicts between our 2 countries. They both understand that this military wants to create problems.

Low Presence for an important debate

A treaty was proposed to our congress members : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iMJuTafpCWUpu1qmPT0_h_gnqgLUxfGCZLmmM8mgonw/edit

And following that : UK congress had 24h to vote.

Results were quite clear : 11 YES and 3 NO
details can be seen here : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqdI5CK89hEodHhMQU8tM3R3WDJ6ZFpIa19MdGVfR1E&usp=sharing#gid=0
PS : last valid vote is alexg737 one.

Even if result is positive, I’m sad that only 14 congress members voted the proposal. I know that we are at the end of the term but I won’t hide it : it is low.

Other proposals :

Yesterday, a proposal to reduce VAT on food was launched (from 10 to 4😵. Considered as an personal initiative : the proposal was rejected by 8 YES and 12 NO

To finish : several MPP laws were proposed

- Lithuania : 27 YES - 1 NO
- Poland : 27 YES - 2 NO
- Albania : 0 YES - 29 NO
- Spain : 31 YES - 1 NO
- Republic of China (Tawain) : 22 YES - 2 NO
- Hungary : 29 YES - 0 NO
- Greece : 27 YES - 0 NO
- India : 23 YES - 5 NO
- Australia : 19 YES - 0 NO (remain more than 12 hours)

Last point : 3 congress members resigned from congress.
- Maximus Decimus Meridus left for Ireland before having back an Canadian citizenship.
- Ayame Crocodile is currently Belgian
- CuauhtemocGonzalez returned to Mexico

Remember that on september 25, there is congress elections. I’m not here to say to which party you need to vote. I’m just asking you vote on these elections. As UK citizen, you have the right to be represented on congress. Whatever the party that you choose, you gain 5XP points (it isn’t a lot but better than nothing). So : VOTE !!!

See ya,
Kravenn
Speaker of the house of commons
