[Serious Discussion] Dictatorship Pros

Day 2,703, 15:56 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Topher Fair

Literally tens of people in eUK are skipping the hard task of organising citizens to throw out our foreign Dictators and moving right into the argument of what to do after our glorious but yet to be planned victory!

A small handful of very vocal players are pushing for us to have a Dictatorship led by eUK players. If you are missing exactly how this works take a look at my last article, otherwise let's move on and look at what exactly they are saying and if they are right or not:

#1 It takes two battles instead of one battle to take over eUK.
I'll let our last Dictator from when we tried this last month, Wayne, answer this one:

After a month you get a DOUBLE DAMAGE bonus and it only gets worse, so there is no point in pretending that this second battle is a defense. Also any damage the enemy does is likely going to be cancelled out with eUK players' damage, so we are poorer by the same amount.

#2 It costs 400,000 GBP instead of 200,000 GBP to take over eUK.
When we are talking about enemy groups paying 200,000 GBP to take us over plus paying to tank against AN ENTIRE COUNTRY, we are facing very rich players. They won't be saving up for this, they'll have a source of real life cash or a whole country behind them as all big tanks do.

So while 200,000 GBP may cost YOU £150 to pay for, they are going to have either big referral bonuses, country tax money or a fantastic job/family wealth in real life. Is this really going to be an issue for them? Oh and setting up Dictator cost US 200,000 GBP too, so we are poorer by the same amount.

I'm not even going into eUKers being "butthurt", to use Wayne's technical definition, making us pay more chunks of 200,000 GBP to get rid of unpopular dictators. This happened as recently as last month, it's going to cost us a stupid amount of money to keep this up.

Oh and what happens if we are attacked after someone else, like an eUK player, payed to win the first battle? Then they get to attack us without paying the extra 200,000 GBP, WHICH IS WHAT JUST HAPPENED!

#3 If we lose the first battle we have 3 days to get ready for the second battle.
3 days to make sure that every eUK MU is ready to join in, that the battle is at a good time for us, to get allies and mercenaries in to help and generally get more prepared. This actually sounds quite good.

The thing is, will doing all of that have an effect and is 3 days enough? Well there is a way to prove this. We were taken over about 5 days ago now, so we have our preparation time happening right now, we are we not free yet? Because it isn't enough time.

#4 The above points together will make us look like a hard target so that MTO groups will look for easier targets even if they could actually beat us.
A group in it for a laugh may just pick on the weakest country, but are we really the weakest out there? There are much smaller countries with hundreds of players not in Dictatorship right now.

A group specifically wanting to target the eUK for some reason, either because of real life hate or in game tactics, will go for us no matter what.

I'm not convinced.

So in conclusion a eUK Dictatorship will:

#1 Make an easy extra battle for the enemy to easily destroy, even BigAnt could tackle one of these last month.

#2 Make an extra 200,000 GBP barrier for the enemy to pay for if they have bad timing, but even more for us to keep it up as we are already discussing paying our second lot of 200,000 GBP.

#3 Make the enemy wait an extra 10 days to take us over, giving us time to prepare ourselves and allies. Could actually be worth it, it'll be proven to be a good benefit if we are freed next week!

#4 Make us look harder to take over when we already don't look like the weakest target out there because of our average population.
