[Serbian ambassador to Poland] Interview with Smrtan [POL/ENG]

This guy needs no special introduction, so I'll just start with the questions. 😃

Can you tell us something about yourself?
-Hm... I hate that question 🙂 I'm 34yo guy living in southern Poland and running his own business. Once upon a time I was addicted to some browser sh1t called eRepublik, fortunately it's definitely over 🙂

How did you start playing eRep?
-I was invited by a Polish legend - eersen. He obviously wanted 5 gold for my 6th level but I liked old V1 erep and I stayed

Can you tell us something about Polish people, what are Poles like in real life and in this game, are there any similarities between Poland and ePoland?
-Poles in RL are warm, hospitable and open ppl, like all other Slavs. We enjoy to have guests and celebrate their visit 🙂 In the game.... there are many trolls and so many selfish players. But there are also devoted and non-biased players and groups always opened to help. And after quitting ONE We're also divided society (a bit). Some individuals are living in "old order"

What do you like the most and what do you like the least about ePoland?
-The most - society and players like Basowy: helping noobs helping other players;
the least – neverending flamewars, dirty politician players....

If you ever decide to leave this game what reason for your leave would be the strongest?
-So called "boredom"

Which eCountry besides Poland is your favorite?
-eCzechoslovakia of course, my beloved baby

You were the main character behind the Polish alliance change and creation of ONE so what were your personal motives for this?
-Personal motivation? Willing to boost new world, making something new and - finally - mish-mash old, frozen teams. And ofc I wanted Polish-Hungarian alliance. Same as I wanted Serbs + Croats in new alliance (which was unsuccessful on Croatian part) and Spaniards + Macedonians (which was successful)

Could you describe us the situation in Poland at that time and how creation of ONE went on?
-This was long process. It started in last days of StrozeR's term but he was terribly afraid of changes that days (the only thing happened at his term was rejection of Romanian MPP) so first rapid move was in my first day - MPP with Hungary. Ofc IRC channels and coordination were done earlier. All my term was "booooring" without big wars nor battles with only diplomacy work. The only "big" campaign was wiping out eNetherlands.



Was it easy to persuade Poles to break their bonds with allies or you think that the conflict with Romania was a reason enough for Poles to agree with the alliance swap?
-I'm not sure if Poles have had any strong bonds to EDEN. Rather to some nations of Eden: Croatia, Spain, Sweden... This is why We worked hard on that 3 nations to go with us into so-called NWO

How do you deal with critics of those players who still think that the alliance change was a great mistake for Poland?
-I don't care about their trolling. If they are so stubborn to live in the past, to live in more than a year ago - it's their problem, not mine.

Are you satisfied with Poland’s position in ONE and how do you feel about ONE nowadays?
-NE should be an Unity. We should'n talk about "positions" of any country. Current ONE definitely ISN'T the ONE I created.

If you could turn back time would you still try to create ONE and do you feel any regrets now?
-Nope I would do it again 🙂

Do you think that ONE will avoid the fate of PEACE and PHOENIX or that it will fall apart as well?
-Original ONE shouldn't have any problems with fate like that. Current ONE looks like a disaster and is going down even faster than PHX. There were *many* mistakes made since ~ june 2011 'till now.
Truth hurts.

As a Pole you were able to see Serbia both ways, as an enemy and as an ally so what’s your impression of Serbia? No praise 😛
-Most of my time I played as a Slovak so I don't remember Serbia as an enemy (maybe in the very beginning while Serbian/Hungarian group of multies made PTO attemp and stole some SKKs). But I remember Polish - Serbian war while both sides were enormously cheating.

So, your avatar, Burzum, Fenriz, Demonaz, some sort of an unholy trinity, huh? 😃
-No xD

Well I saw that but I hoped it has to do with black metal so that's why I asked, you also had Immortal as your avatar earlier that caught my eye.
-Yes you're right at that point. I like old Immortal, (Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism), this album have had great atmosphere. Later albums were tooooo fast for me. Now I like them too but not so much as first one



What drew you to black metal?
-Hard to say... I listen almost all (good) styles of music. On of them is black metal. There are months while BM takes 50-80% of my playlist time, and also there could be 2-3 months when I almost don't listen black, death or doom listening classical, ambient or even electro 🙂

Do you have a favorite band?
-Hm... hard to say. The world is full of brilliant music. Today day favorite is music I already listen to, another day something different... For sure there are some "brands" connected to some of my periods of line as for example Scorpions (especially early one) , Bathory, Burzum or... Depeche mode 😃

Which is your favorite Polish metal band and can you recommend us a few of them?
-I can give some hints if this was the sense of that question: Pandemonium, Infernum, Veles, KAT, Lux Occulta, Sacrillegium....

So you think that Immortal’s videos are funny? 😛
-Hard to say. But this one with Benny Hill’s music was brilliant 😃
