[Seanan4CP] Becoming the Military Candidate

Day 2,417, 05:04 Published in Ireland Ireland by Seanan

War. War never changes.

The core feature of this game is the ability to attack and conqueror other nations, obtaining resources and/or denying your rivals economic and political features. The military module is my personal greatest enjoy; intense battles require dedication, smarts and energy. They will keep you on the edge of your seat, and end with great satisfaction or overpowering disappointment.

While the Admins have (putting it nicely) dumb'd down the military module since I've started playing and made most non-paying players spectators rather than combatants, when nations of high caliber meet on the battlefield with victory down to a point or a division... nothing beats a good fight.

The Military Candidate

Lets have a war!
But who to choose? Our neighbours are the immediate options... United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Argentina (well, before Poland pushes them out). We'll talk about the Airstrike later, lets focus on the immediate options.

The most common and repetitive suggestion is... Attack the United Kingdom. And I ask... Will attacking a country which has two other nations hitting it sound like two high caliber nations meeting on the battlefield in a glorious well-pitched battle live up to a good fight? Or does it sound like sloppy seconds / kicking a wounded animal?

The UK are our rivals, we've completed with each other on and off the battlefield for most of our history together - and will continue to compete with. However, at the moment, attacking them wouldn't be brave or show our prowess... it'd just be derpy.

The same reason that attacking the United States is off the table, the UK share Mutual Protection Packs with us. If we attack either the US or the UK, we will lose our MPP stacks and that will mean either 1) Getting our butt whoooooooped in nothing resembling a closely fought fight and losing our allies or 2) Signing with LETO and Asteria hence betraying our allies. And under my administration, I will not backdoor the country into an enemy alliance.

That leaves Canada or Argentina for an immediate war options.

I have contacted the CP candidates of Canada and proposed WAR GAMES and none of the candidates are against the idea (although obviously wanna discuss more after elections); A War Game isn't the same as a Training War, the objective is to wipe your enemy. If Canada agrees, both nations will try to wipe eachother hence win the War Game. The game continues til one nations is wiped, surrenders or ceasefire needed if either nation's Congress is threatened nearing the 25th.

As something we have never done before and with a nation who we like (and have similar strength), pursuing this would shake up our community and bring some sorely needed banter-filled fun. Invasion of the Canucks would certainly keep us buzzing (who really wears the pants in our relationship?) whilst we look for strategically significant targets via Airstrike.

Not mentioned Argentina, because Poland will probably remove them from the UK before we elected a new CP ;__;

Why hellooooo Ottawa...

The Domestic policies...

Funding an Airstrike!
Quite frankly, these are expensive and if we are going to have one... we need a good target and a heavy war chest to make it successful.

My Roadmap
1) Ask Aurora HQ if there is any Theatre of War an airstrike from Ireland could be useful to alliance strategy.
2) If not, lobby until there is.
3) Present options to the Community and poll which target to select (probably keep results on the down low if you know what I mean).
4) Raise Funds - by direct appeals to citizens for donations, enlist the Ministry of Community to run games designed to raise funds, approach international benefactors who might benefit from our airstrike and keep up the pressure to get an Airstrike for this term or next.
5) Use the wealth generated by the recent tournaments in our Military Units to fund Combat Orders, but also explore post-funding airstrike, our weapons stocks to access our supplying capability.

Nationalization of the State Commune!
Currently, part of the gains the Ministry of Finance obtains via Monetary Market fishing subsidizes the Irish Army & Bootcamp Supply System. The system has grown to be the largest and diverse commune system in the country with nearly 50 workers - and through the dedication of James Keiller upgrading his companies for State use, donors and volunteer workers - the system has not overburnened the State.

This was my original proposal.

By including other Irish commune systems into the fold, the activity of the Ministry of Finance will be felt by a greater number of citizens and promote military cohesion, providing there are proper checks and balances. Such a system will require cooperation with non-State military units, but even citizens out-side commune based Military Units will be able to benefit if gadgets like Pulse or Screenshots of following orders are utilized.

War is coming, Ireland.
Sweat more in training, bleed less in battle.
I am the Military Candidate.
