[SColbert4CP] Competent Government, That Works

Hello Nation,

We’re a great nation. Does it shock you to hear that? It definitely shocks me. It’s one of those things that really shouldn’t have to be said, like “your wife sure is a woman.” Unfortunately it seems that now a days we have to say it, as our government has seem to have lost its edge. Competent governance is something our nation could use a dose of, as the last few weeks have shown. We need people that have the experience, and know how to make government work again for all. We need people that will be there when our country needs it. Which is why I am running for CP!

I have had a lot of fun playing this game. During that time I have had the pleasure of holding the following positions:
Vice President x2
Speaker of the House x2
Party President of USWP x3
Secretary of Interior
Secretary of Media
Press Secretary
Secretary of Homeland Security
Represented both 6th parties and USWP in congress 21 times
Member of SCI
Deputy Secretary of State

I have made it my mission the past couple of weeks to build a team of the most competent, hard working, and experienced people our nation has to offer. Our nation does not have the stability to simply hope for people to show up, and know how to run our country. We need the people that have been there to build and guide our nation. I am very excited to share my cabinet with you. I will be releasing it tomorrow so that everyone can see the team I have built.

Competency is not something most use as a guiding principle as their campaign. It’s much easier to simply throw together some nice sentences, and platitudes. Our country does not have time for that though. We have been promised so much; from our reserves can win us battles, to our position in the world is stable. That can be the case, but with the right hand guiding us. Promises are not results, and results can only be given by those with the experience to know how to deliver them. My team, and I know how to deliver those results.
Foreign Policy

We need to strengthen our ties with our allies. Foreign adventures can be had when they are created in a cautious and well planned manner. I'm much more concerned with strengthening ties with close allies and balancing our relations in regard to the great powers (Ex-SIRIUS and ASTERIA). Our current posture is precarious, and needs to be rebalanced. We need to reassure our allies that we are there for them, while also making our moves on the international stage with care, and planning.
Domestic Policy

One of the most important aspects in this game is the media module. It allows players to communicate ideas, and for the government to inform its citizens. I think the Media Dept needs to be reenergized. I look back fondly on the media campaigns that led up to military conflicts. We were able to create real excitement through the proper trolling, and articles. This should be a very fun aspect of the game, and I know it can be reworked under the right experienced guidance.

Over the next week I will show you that we can be a great nation. That with the right people we can win. We don’t have the time to simply wait, and hope. America needs to show its allies, and the world that we are a great power, right now. America can be great, we just need the right people in charge. I hope to prove to you that I, and my cabinet are the people who can make us great. Because America is awesome, and we should not settle for second best. Thank you.
