[RN] Interview with Mick Cain

Day 2,998, 04:08 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by The Royal Navy

Greetings shipmates.

Welcome to the first instalment of what will hopefully be a regular feature here - interviews with leading figures in the Royal Navy MU.

So without further ado, here's our interview with ... Mick Cain. He's such a legend he's even got a Regiment named after him.

Name, rank, regiment
Mick Cain, Titan, Reg 4

How’s it going?
I'm good mate.Busy at work, the usual sh*t. But good. How are you?
RN: I’m good thanks. My missus is away for a week so I’m binging on Fallout4 and This Is England 🙂

First of all, tell us a little bit about your eRep self…
Just 2-clicking at present. Took time out from the game around a year ago. It did me the world of good. Anyone getting burnout from the game, I would highly recommend it instead of quitting.

How long have you been in the RN? What does the MU mean to you?
Bloody hell as long as i can remember. When i first started the game I refused to join an MU. But when I joined the UKPP, the RN was joined to that party. So i joined the RN too, must be 5 years ago now. Doesn’t seem long if you say it quick.

The Royal Navy and the sailors that sail her ships are the only reason i still play. I guess that will tell you what the RN means to me.

You've spent a lot of time as RN Commander. What does that involve?
Ah Command. I feel teary eyed thinking about it haha. Command is what you want to make of it. If you put effort in the MU will progress. You have to try and keep sailors interested in staying. Keep them active. And offer help whenever and wherever it is needed. We have been blessed with some great guys who help supply the RN. Our current command team are doing a great job.

Why should people join the Royal Navy?
Goes without saying we are the best MU in the eUK. We offer decent supplies. Decent rewards and sound advice and help. Not to mention Sunday Strikes, and we are the friendliest bunch of guys anyone could wish to meet. If you want to be a part of something special … join the Royal Navy

What makes a good sailor?
A good sailor is happy sailor. Simple as that really. It’s always good though when individuals step up and run for captain or help out with Sunday Strikes. Or like yourself Mike, run our media. A MU takes teamwork to run it.
RN: Aww … shucks … (embarrassed face)

Who’s your Royal Navy hero, and why?
It has to Horatio Nelson. The best admiral the Royal Navy has ever seen. (i take it you did mean rl?)

Sum up the Royal Navy MU in ten words or fewer…
Awesomeness comes in ships.
RN: New RN motto found, I think 😉

Do you get seasick?
Seasickness has never bothered me. Only once in my early days did i feel a little queasy, a flagon of rum sorted that out.

Parting shot…
Thanks to all the guys present and past for making my stay in the game worthwhile. For any newcomers joining the game and looking for a fantastic MU to join, you need look no further than the Royal Navy.

Brilliant Mick. Thanks for your time
Glad i could help mate o7

So there you have it. A little bit of an insight into an RN legend.

Tune in next time for the next interview…

What MU are you in? Really? Well it’s the wrong one. You should join the Royal Navy instead.

Regt/Div 2:- HMS Sheffield (a.k.a. HMS Mick Cain)
Regt/Div 3:- HMS Ark Royal
Regt/Div 4:- HMS Conqueror
Regt 8/any - HMS Marie Celeste (for inactives and builder - unlikely to post damage)
