Just a update article on what's happening around the joint.


So firstly I would like to address activity levels. It seems that the place is abuzz, more so than I have seen in a number of months which is great! We have more articles around than anyone can read, Pat is running another great game of Werewolf which is highly entertaining, even if the vigilante keeps killing me off, the DoEE has another lottery competition running and overall I am very happy about this! Regardless of Chile's occupation, I don't want that to be the determining factor of how much enjoyment people get from this game. I have to confess, I was more than a little excited when I saw our beloved Dear Father Dartreal announce he was going to run another comic series. Many of you may not have been around in the days of "Dear Father", but they were fantastically entertaining and very well done. If you want to see any of these comics, look no further Dart-Comics


Unless you are behind a gigantic rock, you will be well aware of the RW's that have been happening. Many of you may not fully understand the reasons behind it, for those of you who do, just skip this section.

One of the bonuses we receive from being occupied is that we are able to build up what is known as a Determination Bonus. This is a multiplier which gives us a greater amount of damage we are able to do in resistance wars and when defending a territory. They mechanic is not particularly great, as the benefit can be nutrilised by doing what Chile is doing now. They have started RW in certain states (First NT, then WA, then NSW now SA) and keep 1 or 2 regions (I expect they will keep only Qld), at which point they set us as their "Natural Enemy" which allows them to attack our regions which border theirs which resets the Determination bonus. Unfortunately due to Chile's size and strength, there has been little we can do about this. My ignorance initially led me to believe that they were only doing NT, but they have been very organised and have been coordinated enough to reset all these bonuses. This kind of goes to show Plato's complete incompetence with managing real game mechanics which change anything.





Alliance news!
So there is going to be 3 alliances. One alliance known as Asteria which contains members of Serbia, Hungary, Greece, Argentina, Slovenia and Romania.

The second alliance known as Sirius will contain Poland, Spain, UK, USA, Croatia and Turkey being the founding members.
The final alliance is being started by Chile, which has not released a name yet, MAY contain (not confirmed yet) Chile, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Russia, Indonesia, Germany, Mexico and Paraguay.

There is no confirmation as to which alliances we will be able to join. Chile have resisted our attempts to talk with them and so we believe at this time that this 3rd alliance will not be an option. The announcement of the 3rd alliance was somewhat unexpected, with both the other alliances wanting to see what Chile did in regards to participating in an alliance.

Chile claim that their motives are based around friendship and being fair and reasonable and working with all other nations. However their actions speak clearly that they are only interested in working with nations which suit their purpose, by continuing to stonewall us and any discussion. To keep all their bonuses that Chile receives from occupying Australia, they only need 3 regions, Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland. So in theory they could return all other regions and lose nothing! We are clearly a side thought from them, a unspoken blip on their moral compass. They have not mentioned us in any articles or communications or responded to our numerous requests to talk. It is sad when a nation is willing to ignore the wrong they are purporting just for an insignificant gain. And in the famous words of Anonymous.
