[Presidential Campaign] Extend the Age of R (revised)

Day 2,083, 21:51 Published in Philippines Republic of China (Taiwan) by Analia Arnheim

Sometimes, it hits me. Why should I be posting a campaign article anyway if:

a) I am the incumbent president, thus the so-called incumbency advantage

(which proves why in the 1987 NAMFREL full count of the 1986 elections, Marcos won by around 700,000 votes against Cory Aquino, as opposed to the more than 1 million votes announced by the Marcos controlled COMELEC, but this was never announced to the public until the time Marcos was long dead)

b) Five of the seven parties in the Philippines supported my candidacy

(though this does not easily translate victory because the other candidate would not run if he had no secret weapon like a grassroots voter base, and those two parties who opted not to support me were among the largest in ePH)

Still, I made this article anyway. Enough said. 🙂

As said in my last SORA, a better Philippines lies ahead with the foundation we have done in the Age of R. But I would like to continue the work still undone by the Raposas administration in the past month. This would form the backbone of my platform for this month.

Of course, we lacked resources because even though I am President, I cannot access the Treasury without Congress (resulting from lack of regions). In order to remedy this, I asked for cheap, affordable, and zero interest loan from some our allies in NaN (only 4,000 PHP). Once we have an access to the treasury, we can easily pay this with only a small fraction of the current financial standing (which stands at 19,890 PHP as of publication date).

But with only more or less 6,000 PHP, the government had been able to provide food and weapons to around 60 citizens in the past twenty days, give support to a RW, provide transport fees to needy citizens, jumpstart the Philippine weapons market by selling at prices competitive with our neighbors (thus making the Treasury earn even without regions), and provide salary to the Cabinet.

Though I also have to spend my own money as well (2,000 PHP came from me, which leaves me almost penniless now), that is the cost of public service.

Also, talks have been ongoing between our nation, China and Indonesia, and it took a long while to have an understanding with our bigger neighbors (they actually prove friendly as time passes by). I would like to see regions for our nation this following month, and that I am determined to fulfill.

But what are regions if we don't have a viable population to defend it? So far, we may have zero region now, but our population grew from 273 on July 4 to 324 on August 3. That is 18.7% growth, even if we have not yet reached the revised end term target of 350. If our population again posts a similar growth, we will be punching well above 380 by next month, placing the country above the 60th rank for the first time.

One more thing, this term witnessed an early admission of the country to NaN, or Non-Aligned Nations of Erepublik. Our full membership was recently approved, and the alliance is now in the process of putting us in the roster of full members. It is early because the initial decision was to decide full membership by August 10.

I don't want to post Cabinet positions for now. That is like claiming victory early in the campaign (just like what Gilas Pilipinas felt in the last game against Chinese Taipei). Still, you can apply as early as now if you want.

So, I appeal to the people once again, as I did since I first ran in March, lend me your energies for me to be President once more. Vote on the Presidential elections on August 5, it is your right.

Mabuhay ang Pilipinas at ang mga Pilipinong lumalaban!
