I have been told the first few days of any term are going to be slow as you work through transition. This wasn’t the case this term, the transition was seamless. My CoS Jaden A. and my entire Cabinet transitioned into their roles like pros and for that I am very thankful.

Community

For me, this term is all about personal interactions and the way we talk to each other. I have watched my Liaison Walter start the process of what I have requested of him, and I am happy to see the positive reaction it has had. There have been bumps in the process as he works through the challenges of the position and some reevaluating the process, but all in all it has been a great start.

This position depends on the feedback received. Because of the comments on his first article, Walter is currently working with Co-Directors Carhugar and Jessina to develop a program to benefit new players.

As we continue the process of building the position I hope others will step up with more thoughts on how we can help heal the divide. I knew going into this that it was going to be a long process and a near-to-impossible challenge but through the feedback of people in game, I can see that it is still possible.

Media

The Co-SecMeds, Joey3790 and James Schubert, have done a great job putting together their team and releasing their first WHPR. Their staff is well rounded, but can always use new talent. Please let me or my CoS know if you are interested in helping the WHPR team.

One of the best parts of the eUS forums are Aramec’s Press Briefings. They are meant to be a fun look at the day in the cabinet. His interpretations and musings are the highlight of my day. I tasked my deputy CoS, Dinnyin, with publishing them so that those of you who don’t wish to go to the forums can share in Aramec’s uniquely fun briefings.

As I stated during the campaign I want to gage interest in eNPR. I’ll be asking my cabinet for their thoughts tomorrow but I also want to hear from you. What are your thoughts on restarting a weekly eNPR program?

Defense/NSC

NSC Co-Directors, Yui and Resoula, spent the day yesterday helping Japan finally get Spain out of their regions. The timing of this was perfect as Spain was busy elsewhere and didn’t put up a lot of resistance. The next step in this process is for us to leave Japan. We will be starting RW’s to give back their regions. Make sure you pay attention to DoD orders and listen to the shouts and your commanders. If you fight in these battles we will be fighting FOR Japan.

To digress slightly...

I had a very interesting conversation with the Japanese SoD yesterday about American Football. With everything going on this week we took a few moments to discuss our favorite teams and players. It was a fun conversation.

Not all of our interactions with other countries needs to be formal. For me it’s all about personal interaction about common interests that makes friends, not the formality of Politics. Everyone has their own ways of doing things but I have to find some sort of common interest to be able to relax and interact with people.

Foreign Affairs

At the end of last term we officially added Greece to Pacifica. This is an exciting time for our alliance as it grows into a formidable force in the eWorld. It was a long process that started in Orikfricai’s term. There were some stalls but thanks to Wild Owl’s extensive work our alliance is that much stronger. I look forward to seeing what is going to happen next.

I see great things in the future for Pacifica.

Final thought

During the campaign I promised weekly mass messaging with updates on what I am currently doing. From the feedback I’ve received it has become obvious that this was a bad idea. The messages I received made it clear that a number of people in the eUS prefer not to be spammed weekly by their CP.

As always, feel free to pm me with any thoughts, questions, or concerns.

Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively using words of despair. Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble.
