[PotUS] The Recovery

Day 1,675, 18:16 Published in USA USA by Israel Stevens

My fellow Americans,

A few days ago, we experienced a devastating loss. Although only one region fell to the Polish, the cost was much, much more. I’m not going to sugarcoat this. We got destroyed. In every sense of the word. There is no other way to describe getting shut out 83-0.

We didn’t go down with a fight however. We spent nearly 390 gold on the battle. Not to mention hundreds of thousands of dollars on tanks. Arm America did an outstanding job supplying for hours upon end. I'd like to thank all of our allies for their tremendous support, and a special thank you to Croatia, Germany and Argentina.

Although we lost this battle, one thing is certain:

We will never stop fighting.

We have over 50 regions. This war will not be won during the course of one day. It’s called a campaign for a reason. This will be long. And it will be drawn out. But we will be here fighting. Always.

We have already begun exploring military and diplomatic solutions to this conflict and I have the utmost confidence in my cabinet.

In the midst of this loss, there has been the suggestion that we should leave Terra. We helped found this alliance, and have been one of the primary nations since the beginning.

Should we stay? Should we go?

The answer is incredibly complicated and nowhere near as simple as some are making it out to be. If we leave Terra, we will likely lose some of the members of Terra as allies. Is that worth it? More so, is it worth throwing away over a year of hard work and commitment simply because we lost a battle and things aren’t going our way? What happened to sticking together when times are tough?

I’m disappointed that there are those that would use this issue as a foothold for political gain; because it is not black and white. It is a rainbow of different factors. And when you factor in the best part of this game (the social aspect), those factors take on a whole new life. This isn’t an AI we’re playing against. It is living, breathing people on the other end. People who are emotional, devious, smart and dedicated. You can’t predict what everyone will do, and to paint this problem in such broad strokes does it a grave disservice.
So what is the solution?
At this moment, I truthfully don’t know. My Secretary of State as well as Secretary of Defense are exploring all of the options in front of us. You can have faith that they will do what is best for the nation.

Make sure to request your tanks from Tank Up to Rank Up. We’ve had a few issues with supply, but we’re working on getting the kinks worked out. Bear with us! If you would like to donate to this fantastic program, I'd be happy to accommodate you! Just donate them straight to me.
Also, make sure to check out this thread on the USA National Forums where you can ask me questions. I’ve been answering all of them!
