[PotUS] On the Irish Rental and Peace

Just a few things to address today, all relating to rental agreements I’m afraid. I’ll also include a little bit extra towards the bottom if possible. Stand-by for important information and some updates to our foreign affairs.

Important Information on Irish Resistance Wars

I will address both American and Irish citizens with this section, hoping to elaborate on a few things. Let’s talk to Americans first. As I have said earlier, any battle beyond Cork and Wexford is a battle we are not supposed to win. If we do, we are expected and obligated to RW the region back to Ireland as soon as possible. So I ask all Americans to follow DoD priorities and executive orders on this issue. If a RW for Ireland occurs in regions other than Cork and Wexford, fight for Ireland. I do not want to deny them congress seats or any regions beyond what was agreed upon in the rental agreement. We are a responsible country and uphold our agreements.

Now to talk to the Irish. I know a lot of you support the rental agreement, and I know some of you are opposed to the deal. Your reasons aren’t all the same, but I have read Irish media a lot lately, and the comments made by citizens. I understand holding disagreements with the government and their actions, I get that here at home as well. I also understand the desire to protect your home. But, when you start RWs in Cork and Wexford, especially now, you prevent us from starting a RW in any region that might also be taken. By disagreeing with your government and the US actions in this way, you prevent Ireland from having a full congress on Election Day. The US can win any RW against Ireland right now, your actions only hurt Ireland. I consider Ireland an ally, and I am deeply grateful for them in letting us enjoy their iron (though we also export Tyrconnel and Locke’s on the side).

If you oppose the agreement, seek other means. Agreements between allies are made with the pen, not with the sword. I ask the opposition to hold off on protest RWs as long as this war is ongoing, in the interest of being able to RW back any Irish region taken other than Cork and Wexford.


Ireland-UK-USA NAP

In the interest of preserving the full sustainability of the Irish rental agreement, the United States and Ireland negotiated an NAP with the UK. The intention is to continue this NAP for the duration of the rental to ensure stability for the parties involved or neighboring. I was appreciative of the work put forth by both Bhane and ChewChewShoe on this agreement, and I hope it fulfills its intended purpose in achieving peace for our new northern border with UK, and peace and protection for Ireland. Despite UK being a TWO nation, conflict has only occurred between us when our alliances (in our case former alliance) have come into conflict. We have no desire to provoke wars, and the NAP simply reinforces this. Below is the full text of the agreement:

Ireland-UK-USA Non-Aggression Pact

I. Preamble
In recognition of our desire to seek economic means for our countries peaceably, the United States, Ireland, and the United Kingdom seek a means of understanding and non-aggression between their countries. To promote economic prosperity and a civil way in which to do so, we enter into this agreement.

II. Terms
A. The military forces of the United States, Ireland, and the United Kingdom shall not engage in any direct MPP battles, or fight against each other in any Resistance War except in the interest of the protection of mutually agreed upon rental agreements.
B. If any terms are inadvertently broken by the United States, Ireland, or the United Kingdom, the situation shall be rectified in a peaceful and patient manner, in order to return to the terms of this agreement

III. Renewal
A. During the rental, this agreement can be renewed by the 25th of each month, if the Presidents of Ireland, United Kingdom, and the United States decide to do so.
B. If the rental agreement between the Ireland and USA ends, the NAP will then auto-renew on the 10th of each month until any signatories publicly announces the NAP will cease.

IV. Approvals

This treaty has been agreed to and approved by the following, on Day 2,221 of the New World.

So what is still in the pipeline? Expect to see more about another rental agreement being planned, an update for Education, and anything else that might turn up. I know the Holidays have us a bit distracted from the “game”, but I intend to remain active to the best of my ability for this term.
