[POTeUS] Day One

Day 2,055, 13:27 Published in USA USA by Paul Proteus

Comes with mood musik

Good morning America. As most of you know, elections were yesterday, and I'd like to take a moment to thank you for electing me to the office of President. It is beyond words how honored I am to be given this opportunity, to fulfill this dream. So, instead of trying to write more, I'll leave it at this: I won't let you down.

The country faces many challenges, but I'm beyond confident in myself and my team to meet them and succeed. I'm looking forward to a great month.

Now, onto more serious issues.

Election

As for the specifics of the election, I won with 1247 votes, or 62.98% of the electorate. Zeng, the PTO candidate, garnered 584 votes at 29.49%. HeapSeppo received the remaining 7.53%. What does this mean? Well, this marks a drop of 230 PTO votes from Free Area's 814, while our votes remained around constant.

It's similar every election, the PTO is weakening, every election they lose more people, and receive less votes, this month's CP election marked around a 5% loss in overall percentage for the AFA.

Point is: We're winning, America. Hold on just a little bit longer.

As for the implementation of "Unity" elections this month, Talo's proposal was a step forward and yet Unity was less transparent, and less open than ever. I will be speaking with next months Party Presidents when the time comes to make sure this doesn't happen again. If we, as a nation, are forced to deal with altered elections for security, we will at least make sure these measures are as inclusive, representative and democratic as humanly possible.

A New NCM

This thing

If one bothered to check, they'd see that our New Citizen Message is the same as it was from Artela's latest term. Making it fairly (see: very) out of date.

The NCM is an essential part of the President's job, as it's the first thing new citizens see when they join, and fixing it is so easy. In any case, I updated Artela's message and rewrote it a bit, so it can better help new citizens become involved and stay involved, as well as keeping them out of our enemies' hands.

You can see my proposed changes here in the Public section of Congress where I briefed Congress before I move forward and propose it in game. If you have any suggestions or comments before I set it for the month, make sure to look into that now.

That's it for the first day, it's been a bit hectic, so this is all I can get out for now. I'm going to aim for an update from my paper every other day or so. Make sure to keep an eye on the White House Press Report for more.

Until next time,

Paul Proteus,
President of the eUS
