UPDATED: \o/ Alliance Overview: NWO \o/

Hey homies!

As part of my job in ssomo's UIP Cabinet, I will be gathering information relating to eUS foreign affairs and publishing it here. This could range from the most basic summaries and descriptions of alliances, to alliance interactions, to interviews with foreign dignitaries. It really just depends on how much time I have free on any given day.

Anyway, let's dive right into it, shall we?




First up: a very brief and not-thorough summary of one of the current alliances:


New World Order [NWO]

NWO is comprised of Serbia, Hungary, Iran, Spain, and Poland. With Serbia and Poland, it is arguably the hardest-hitting alliance in the game, rivaling EDEN itself. NWO borders many US regions through the Polish rental states and neighboring Spain, and is a clear potential threat to the USA. At first, many doubted NWO would stabilize and become an actual alliance, but the formation of PanAm and defections of Poland and Spain from EDEN seem to have galvanized its creation.

Serbia -- Currently ranked at #1 in the game in terms of average experience level per citizen, Serbia definitely packs a punch. This country also has a strong history of being antagonistic towards the USA, and would love to conquer more than a few of our regions--- like Texas :3 Formerly the powerhouse of Phoenix, Serbia still has many friends from that end of the international political spectrum. When Serbia left Phoenix, it dragged Hungary and Iran away with it to form NWO. Serbia is the most powerful state in NWO.

Poland -- Currently ranked at #2 in the game in terms of average experience level per citizen, Poland is on a par with Serbia in terms of raw citizen damage potential. As a former ally of the USA and EDEN, relations are still fairly friendly. As Poland needs the resources they currently rent from us, they have a strong motivation to not strain our friendship. Before they left EDEN, Poland was the main driving force behind that alliance, and they still have many friends from that end of the spectrum. Poland cited the USA's teaming up with Brazil in the fight against Spain as its reason for officially joining NWO. Spain followed Poland's lead, joining the alliance a few days after. Poland is the second most powerful state in NWO.

Hungary -- An old and influential state, Hungary used to be a primary driving force behind PEACE GC; in fact, the sudden rise of Hungary was a main factor in PEACE's dominance over Atlantis and its successes in WWIII, including the invasion of North America. Nowadays, however, Hungary stands much diminished from its former glory. With a much smaller population, it does still manage to field a competent military, and its position in central Europe, close to Cromania, lends it some level of tactical importance. Hungary is the 3rd most powerful state in NWO.

Spain -- In olden times a primary member of Atlantis, and then of EDEN, Spain is a country of middling strength. With a strong and organized military, and not inconsiderable population size, it is not a weak state. Spain often follows in Poland's footsteps, and is labeled by most as its lapdog; they even followed Poland's lead in officially joining NWO. This likely stems from the Spanish/Polish cooperation in the complete conquest of France after WWIII. Spain is the 4th most powerful state in NWO.

Iran -- A relatively small nation by global standards, Iran aligns with the Phoenix bloc. It maintains a fairly small, but organized, military, and can lay down a modest amount of damage. Iran, along with Hungary, followed Serbia from Phoenix to NWO. Recently, during Haliman's administration, the Iranian people pledged to not participate in the war module in protest; Haliman took advantage of this and paved a path through them in attempt to reach Turkey, but everything went to hell and the plan collapsed. Iran is the weakest nation in NWO, weighing in at 5th most powerful.

Disclaimer -- The wiki page was incorrect, Iran was never invited to NWO and is not a member.

Additionally, several states have associate status with the NWO alliance. These countries are friendly, but not full members, and are not formally bound to anything. These countries are: Slovenia, Sweden, FYROM, Italy. Word on the street is that UK is currently seeking this status, as well~
