Best of luck. I think anyone who can dedicate the time and is competent should get a shot at government. However, this government has been reasonably transparent. Obviously we cannot release everything to the public, but we have had good dialogue in the MoD MU thread, a war room with other prominent Canadians and congress was disclosed sensitive information to scrutinize and ensure we were acting in good faith (i'll just say the "whiners" never made a peep after that).

It's much easier to criticize then it is to formulate good policy. Remember that when you step into government and are inevitably criticized for every action you take. A while back I offered you to message me with your input and recommendations that I promised I would take into consideration, but the message never materialized. I am not sure if this is because you had no recommendations or you didn't trust I would seriously consider your input. Either way, you're not always going to make the best decision, but as long as you are acting in Canada's interests you can't go wrong. If you're grossly incompetent, congress can always impeach.

I am not criticizing anything without substance. A while back was about 3 days ago when you did say that I have to write my recommendations to you or when the CP asked me to list the things I would do as MoFA.

It is not about me. The onus is on the government to communicate when they have taken up the responsibility of running the government. Mistakes were made and hey who said the job of CP is easy? It isn't and yes when I am holding office, I welcome criticisms because it would keep me in check not to do the stoopid.

Well, the problem is you have no platform other than "I will do better" and "We need to be more open". That's not really a platform, everyone says that. Here's the short version.

Organize your supporters, gather a team of knowledgeable players and win the popular vote. As of yet there is no Coup d'état feature in erep, democracy rules. You simply need to get more supporters than the other guy.

Then go out and prove that you know what you're doing. If successful you'll be rewarded with more thankless jobs to do and everyone will want to be on yer friends list.

Well I don't do electioneering of that kind. I don't set myself out to prove man. I already have enough friends, I should in fact kick a few out haha. I am just trying to infiltrate your closed system to contribute to Canada. To shake it up a bit to see if it can be changed for the better.

I know it was quite a month for you. I am just stating a few flaws that if objectively observed can be ironed out to improve the efficiency. And I will not stop myself from writing about what I see though.

My first reaction to Nyx’s response was the same as oliver’s: she avoided the question and failed the test. (this observation may still hold true because evasion is rather hypocritical when challenging someone else to “open up”...or maybe Nyx saw the flaw in the test.)

A gentleman would allow for other alternatives to explain someone’s failure to perform (let’s call it “the benefit of the doubt”). So, while oliver’s question was of gold standard, the method of the test as pretty basic…actually, I don’t think it could really determine character or performance unless there was already an established correct answer to judge Nyx’s response (I think we call it "the control"???). Maybe oliver had a correct response in mind…I can only guess. Asking one respondent to submit an answer publicly and then have the next submit the answer afterwards may not yield accurate testing results. There is a reason why everyone writes a test in silence without being allowed to peek at other people’s papers.

In the case where the gold standard is up to interpretation, a real is a comparison of answers. Nyx has PMed her answers to oliver. The test fails unless another response is received in similar fashion. (hopefully one from a relevant respondent)

So, first thing to ask is what is the 'thing' for which we are testing. You were correct. The task was NOT designed to test for knowledge of Croatia's motivation. The task WAS designed to test for evasiveness. Hence it is relatively straightforward to assess the result. When you evade answering the question you fail the test. There are very few false positives here.

True, if a response had been received it would have in itself provided additional information about OTHER qualities: ability to think logically, ability to make inferences, ability to collect information, etc. In this context it would be useful to have other responses against which to weigh relative merits. Moreover, and quite apart from any testing, it would have educated me regarding a subject about which I am quite curious.

Finally, this test of evasiveness can lead to false negatives i.e. where just providing any answer is proof of non evasiveness. Where an answer is provided it has to be examined superficially to determine if the language and logic contain hallmarks of rhetorical evasion or if some effort has been made to construct a logically defensible position (even an unpersuasive one).

In short, the task is valid and reliable for testing evasiveness. Like many acid tests it yields results quickly with few false negatives or false positives. Like all tests, the result is applicable to a snapshot in time.
