Join the new world

The Norwegian Green Party is back with our Green Spotlight Series in which we show case our members so everyone can get to know them better by asking them questions about themselves in RL and in game. Today I have the honour to present to you one of our newest members. He has recently taken our media by storm with his Northern Light Newspaper, he is the small green frog from the marshes of the far far north, its Zinitus!


Why I chose to start my eLife in Norway: First of all! I did`nt have anything else to compare with, because I did`nt know the game and the alternatives! But mostly because it`s my home country in real life.

I am not a war gaming fellow, I do not like WoW, and so on. I better like the historical, political and tactical, slowly games like Europa Universalis and Heart of Iron series. Therefore I am most interested in the political modus. But everything chains with everything, and I see that a good military depends of good economy and good political handwork.

From a new-comers perspective the best party about being in Norway and something I think the community could work on are: In this game eNorway is a small country with potensial. It`s better to start as underdog than start in a nation on the top, from there is only one direction; downwards! And as a small e-country like this, you have to think in a long term perspective, and don’t start an expansion war on Friday and believe you are The World Ruler at Sunday! You have to think month`s rather than week`s, and year rather than month`s

I`ve always been interested in elections and that's the most amazing for me in this game, I`ve tried to analyse the historical election data both in eNorway and eAbroad. It a way to get known with the persons and parties.

For the community to work on: Hmmmm! I think it could be more political competition, it seems to me that the political parties is to similar. And it should be done more efforts to gain, develop and keep more active citizens (but perhaps you already do this behind the scenes).



My favourite film: Depends the genre: One of the best Norwegian films ever, is the Sami action-film “Pathfinder” (1987) which gain an Oscar-nomination, despite the fact that everyone thought a Sami film would not reach so far. A very good film that anyone can immerse themselves in, regardless of culturally origin.

An other good drama film was the historical “Schindler`s List” and of course “Titanic” (I think I saw the sinking about four times in two weeks). An in the scary genre, I do “like” the “Paranormal Activity”-films”. But there are a lot of other good films in other genres too.

My aspirations in Norway: First of all, I have only been here for three weeks, so I have still have to learn as much as possible of all the aspects in the game. In the economics I like to feel the satisfaction of having managed all by myself, without help, but I do understand that others do not have the same patience.

But I have started my newspaper “Northern Light”. I hope to be good to set the key issues in articles and debates, and I want to ask critical questions (also to the NGP if necessary) to issues which I consider important, both for the game and for eNorway.

But I am aware of the fact, to fully learn about the game mechanics, the settings and the tactics, I have to go into the politics and military sooner or later. And I do hope to compete for the positions, rather it`s to be given to you.



The reason I chose Kermit the Frog as my avatar: Well, he,he! Perhaps you mistake me for Kermit, my twin brother! We were both hatched in a modest marsh, far far north (not far from the farm), but unfortunately, we were split apart as eggs. I have`nt met him since, but he is a nice chap, and I have heard he do some mediocre success in some show biz in the UK.

My favourite thing to do when not playing eRepublik: I like to go hiking in the mountains, when the nice north-norwegian coastly weather allows us to do so. I also like reading books, specially about historically items. I went to Ireland (Dublin) this spring with some friends of me, and after that trip I`ve read a lot about Irish history (If not choosen eNorway, I perhaps choosed eIreland).

And I do like to keep up with both Norwegian domestic and foreign politics, even I am not member of any parties.

Why I chose to join the Norwegian Green Party: Well, politically, centre left, is my standing in real life. In eNorway I got two big parties in that direction to choose from. To playing an “actor” in this game as “politican”, I considered a party on the opposite side of my own personal views, but it was no activity over there. In my real life I am also a teknokrat, but in this world I wanted to do something different, and the rebel inside my self get amused of the anti establishment element mentioned in the commercial (then it is a paradox, that NGP, today is a part of the establishment it selves).

What decided the matter for me was the focus on stimulating activity, since this is a main challenge in this eNation.

(And of course; because of the colour of my skin, I would perhaps feel more camouflaged there)



What being Green means to me: To beeing Green, mean to me, to be enthusiastic and have long term goals. Not only for the next week and the next month, but also further. Not only to "green" in environmental sence, but also for the recruitment, the economy and military. And in an overall perspective,how we do play the game on the world map. For instance, I shear your worries about the Nebula direction. If eNorway gain international strenght, we dont have to be a bully.
