Hi kids!

The very first thing I want to mention is that I read/write only in English. There is a very good reason for this. In real life I am a stupid American. My congratulations to those of you that have had the good sense to learn a second (or third) language.

I have been asked by our hero chukcha to write this introductory article so that you may poke at me between the bars. I've provided his profile link so that you may easily spam his in-box. I understand he does not have enough to do working with CoT and running Switzerland.

Four days on the job and I've already screwed up. Worst part is I spent 150 CHF of my own money on stationery and ink pens that have "Swiss Dept. of Home Affairs" printed on them. (For you serious types, that is a joke.)




About Me

I am, as I said, a US citizen in RL. I live in Missouri which is toward the center of the country. I also was originally an eUS citizen from the time I started playing eRep over 2 years ago. (Stupid American and has no life, strike two.) I've known Rican for most of that time and we've become great on-line friends. Blame him if I screw up Switzerland, it's his fault I'm here. 😃

I've done several government jobs in the eUS such as Party President, Congressman, and recently the Vice Chief of Staff for fingerguns. Since coming here I've been in Congress, on the Committee of Immigration and now find myself as Minister of Homeland Security. I also serve as eSwiss Ambassador to the eUS.

The BIG DEAL is my MU. More accurately my mates. They are the reason I play this farce of a game. We took back our old sister MU (which we started a long time ago) when we moved here from the eUS. We are the Swiss Patriots. We left behind our brothers in the eUS MU (Pickle's Patriots) which jver1207 and I founded. Pickle's tend to be a generous lot and are always in the mood to help new players get ahead. (See the advert at bottom.)




Stuff We Need To Do

Not too much worry over immigration at the moment. If by some stroke of luck a Swiss Congress is managed on the 25th then a Committee of Immigration will be arranged. In the mean time lets look at things that we do need.

PTO, how it happens: Party ABC does not run a primary election (pre-election on their forum, etc.) and have two in game candidates, XYZ and PDQ. No one has ever heard of PDQ and XYZ is a long time, popular member. XYZ will win easily, no one is concerned. The election day comes and all of a sudden ABC's membership has grown from 83 members to 147 members. At the end of the day PDQ wins 2:1! What the hell just happened?! ABC has been PTO'ed (Political Take Over, or simply Take Over).

At first glance you say "So what?". Then on the 25th ABC is one of the Top 5 parties. They get 7 Congress members. No one knows who the hell these guys are. At the end of the day we have a dozen Serb/Hung/Romanian new immigrants and (because they are touching our region whilst kicking Serb butt) we have proposed to NE the USA. 😮

ATO, what it is: Anti Take Over, the defense against PTO. This is simple and complex at the same time. Simple from the fact that parties should only elect known candidates. Complex in that it isn't really that simple. ???

This is where a little planning goes a long way. The various parties need to decide before the 13th* who is going to be party president. All those interested in the job may candidate in game but must resign the candidacy the 14th*, except of course for the valid candidate. If someone does not or will not resign it is imperative that everyone vote for the legitimate candidate. This flies in the face of Democracy but PTO'ers twist Democracy to their ends.

ATO Snipers: I will be assembling a sniper squad to work on the night/morning of the 14th prior to reset. To be blunt, snipers kick ass! These are the idiots that stay up late/get up early so they can poke the vote button 2 minutes before reset. Working with the snipers will be as yet unnamed assistant(s) and myself. We will be keeping track of who needs votes in what party and directing snipers to move to the appropriate party and reminding who to vote for. Some of these races are so close that admin breaks a tie.

This Is Only One Week Away! I know that CP election is only just over but this in not the time to sit down. If we want to secure our parties the time is now. I will start a group PM (ARGH!) with the major party PP's tomorrow. We need to be on the same page. Also, my good friend Jason Welsh was a great help with previous elections. Unfortunately he is unavailable for the next week. (My rule RL>eRep applies here.) He's a much better organizer than I but there is an up side. I helped him learn some of this stuff two years ago in our original party United Independents Party (US) where I was PP twice. lol
