[MoE] Country Administration and Mechanics

Day 1,944, 15:27 Published in Ireland Ireland by Ian E CoIeman

March 17, 2013

Hello eIreland,

One of the most important things for the population of a successful nation to have a grasp of is game mechanics. The Country President and Congress are the two mechanical bodies that decide, through their powers, the direction of eIreland's alliances, wars, and taxes. By extension they are the teeth when it comes to our foreign affairs, economy, and defence. Here in eIreland we refer to them as Taoiseach (Country President) and Dáil (Congress), but this mechanical system of administration is the same throughout the New World (eRepublik)

The Country President is able to make the following proposals:

Alliance

Signs an alliance with another country. Both countries must accept the law and pay 10000 local currency. The money will be taken from their treasury. Alliance will last for 30 days. If there already is an alliance, the current alliance will be extended with 30 days.

New Citizens Welcome Message

Changes the message that new citizens recieve when they register. This message cannot be longer than 2000 characters.

Trade Embargo

Stops all trade between eIreland and the target nation for 30 days. The embargo is based on citizenship. If your citizenship country has a trading embargo with country X, you will not be able to sell products to country X's markets regardless of where you currently live.

Air Strike

Allows an airstrike against a nation that does not neighbour eIreland. For more information on how airstrikes worked see here.

Declare Natural Enemy

Sets a neighbouring country as natural enemy. If passed by congress eIrish citizens recieve a +10% bonus while fighting against their natural enemy. This will also start a free war against the natural enemy nation. Requires 50% of Congress votes to pass.

Declare War

Declares war against another country. It costs gold equal to 200 + 10% of the number of citizens who are level five or higher in the attacking nation. War can only be declared on a country who eIreland shares a border with. The declarer has 24 hours to attack, before they lose initiative (allowing the other country to attack).

Propose Peace

Brings an end to war with a target nation. A sum of gold can be demanded by the proposing nation to be payed as terms for peace. Once the proposal has been passed by the congresses of both nations the war will end. If there are any ongoing battles the defender will be declared as winner (note: the Campaign Hero Medal won't be awarded).
