[MoD] Dutch Defence Update

Good day eNetherlands,

During the past few days, a lot of things have happened relating to our beloved regions. A few weeks ago, Portugal launched an airstrike (AS) against us, and wiped us completely off of the map. After some discussions with their government, they agreed to free one of our regions, the region of Western Netherlands. They still had some plans here, so they decided that they wanted to keep the region of Northern Netherlands for the time being. Some days later, a Portuguese MU (MEK, or Mobile Elite Korp) launched a coup against the UK and appointed FreeGiGi as dictator there.

Then, the UK, specifically their new foreign dictator, launched an NE against Portugal. Portugal’s main idea was to conquer some British regions, but they didn’t want to lose their MPPs, so, the MTO’ed UK did it before, but they waited before the final approvement. Then, someone suddenly started a RW in the last Portuguese-controlled region in the area (Northern Netherlands) and set high COs to win it. After that, Portugal decided that their last opportunity was to launch themselves the NE, no matter how many MPPs would they lose, and that is what they did.

At the moment there is an interesting (with a few epic rounds) battle in Vestlandet, a British-held region in Norway, where Portugal is facing their last chance to remain in the area.



In other news, notice that recently NoTie112 has resigned as Minister of Defence due to some real life issues. However, he will continue to serve in the Defence Ministry in a slightly different capacity as an advisor until such a time when he has the ability to act as MoD once again.

In the meantime, lancer450 and jordic will be appointed as co-MoDs in order to take NoTie112’s place whilst he is gone.
