[MDP] A Month In Review

Day 1,854, 19:13 Published in Canada Canada by Muglack

Well folks, it's been a hell of a month.

The past 30 days have been interesting in eCanada and specifically the MDP.

Leading up to the November Party President election I ran on a campaign of change for the MDP. I promised to get MDP back to it's roots, and if elected use the party as a tool for moving the country forward. Overall I feel I have been a success.

In the past month the MDP has broken ties with the Coalition, was able to elect a handful of incredibly involved and active Congressmen that have shaped our country's policy, who have been involved at every level, and as a party were able to ensure that the "Free Market Fascists" weren't able to cut the country's revenue and end MU funding.

The next phase of the month's progression was a step backward for the MDP. The country was in flux after being wiped and not having a congress the previous month, so I thought there was a chance to give a long time player the shot she deserved at running the country. The electorate didn't agree with me. For a variety of reasons both large and small the country instead decided to elect Foxfire. I didn't agree then, and I don't agree now. But there's nothing we can do about it, so we move on.

After the election, as you well know the country has gone through a pair of rather big developments.

The first was the theft of 200 Gold. It would seem now that the list of suspects has been narrowed to two. After that it appears it would be anyone's guess. At this point there's no way to tell who the thief actually is, and it would appear as if the current administration doesn't have any desire to pursue it further. Once again, when heels get planter in the ground by the administration there's nothing we can do about it. Plato will only talk to him, so we're left holding the empty bag.

The second development recently is the current "Training War" with the UK. You would think that as a member of the Military Dictatorship Party, I would support war about all else. But that simply isn't the case. I support a winnable war. A war in which we have a chance to take and hold foreign regions that give us bonuses we don't have access to within our original borders. In this situation that certainly is not the case. Not only have we put ourselves at a disadvantage but we've put a long time ally in a terrible position that puts them at risk. A poorly timed attack has not helped the situation either.

But once again as a Congressman I don't have buttons to control that, so we're left the whims of the players that do. If they choose to ignore advice from people that have been in their position before and have won these types of battles and wars, then that's their prerogative. At the end of the day there is nothing that we can do to change the past.

Now for internal party business.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the Military Council for the service in the past month. Our PM thread has been an excellent resource when deciding party policy and discussing the type of things that we would like to see implemented in Canada, and to devise and polish things that we would like to work towards in Congress to move the country forward.

A good Dictator is only as strong the Council that supports him, and the MDP hasn't had a council like the one of the past month in a very long time. With number of people coming to the MDP on a near daily basis it's clear that the direction the Council and I have decided on is one that many of our fellow eCanadians agree with and their support has not gone unnoticed.

In the coming days I will write another article regarding the Council for the coming month, my goals for the next 30 days, and a quick look at our plans for the 25th.

Hail MDP!
Hail eCanada!
Ever Forward!
