[McAfee01]Guns for Hire ~ A Military and Foreign Affairs Manifesto

Day 1,352, 08:44 Published in United Kingdom USA by McAfee01

Aloha amigos

As we continue our journey through this somewhat above average writing material I refer to as my manifesto, I would like to thank you all for the generous feedback I have had through comments and private messages. Hopefully, through teamwork and enthusiasm from our community, I feel we can do great things with my not so bad ideas.

Remember, I encourage everyone to PM me in-game and on our national forum if you wish to apply for cabinet positions. As such, I will quickly list the current positions available:

Minister of Home Affairs - x1
Minister of Foreign Affairs - x1
Minister of Work - x1
Minister of Defence - x1
*Minister of Communicative & Legislative Affairs - x1
Minister of Recruitment - x1

Now, for something completely relevant

Military

As always, the military module adjustments made by Plato & co continues to bemuse and exasperate us all. As such, it’s very to set forth firm military reforms, as for all we know, Plato may decide to take a dump on all our hard work with another change. However, that doesn’t mean we can abandon any adjustments, as there are always challenges that need to be accounted for and rectified.

As such, I would like to develop a system of increased supplies for all new members of our Armed Forces for a citizens first few days as part of our military personnel. Although personal communication via PMs cannot be substituted as one of our militaries great recruitment tools, I feel by introducing this extra incentive, we can probably achieve a higher rate of recruits that will help to improve our retention rate for our newer players, whilst ensuring that our military remains competitive.

I would also quickly like to mention that although this section is quite small, it’s not down to a lack of effort. Some ideas were reliant upon discussions with Rawdons and possible financial possibilities associated with their introduction; however, since the bugger has decided to abandon me in my darkest hour, I’ll just have to admit that I was right all along about keeping him away from any MoD position.

Foreign Affairs

Our foreign policy has become an instrumental part of any manifesto, ever since leaving Terra. It’s what truly defines the direction we and our allies truly see one another, and as such, should be an incredibly important cornerstone of each candidates manifesto pledges.

However, my intentions are slightly different. Although our relations with Strasbourg have deteriorated, as I have witnessed first hand during my tenure as MoFA, I believe that it is not in the eUK’s best interests to abandon our close friends of Germany and France. Over the past few months, our nation has seen a small but developing group of influential citizens, who have been vocal in voicing their discontent towards the Strasbourg Treaty. However, as far as I can see, the Strasbourg Treaty is still as important as it was during its inception, with its only recognisable dilution mainly attributed towards being on opposite sides. I cannot see any rational explanation to abandon this treaty, as Serbia and Macedonia proved during our time in Terra, we can still sustain our relations, even in the face of being on opposing factions.

Although previous months has resulted in our foreign policy developed towards closely aligning ourselves towards ONE, there has been a worrying trend of how deep we have become. Although it’s true that their support for us has been instrumental in our Irish campaigns (for which we deeply appreciate), I think involving ourselves too much within the structure of the alliance will be non-beneficial, and will draw us into a lot of unnecessary and unimportant wars, for which a) We would usually have no interests in involving ourselves, and b) May draws us further into conflict with our Strasbourg allies.

As such, I would prefer to see the eUK sustain itself in a position of stable equilibrium between both our commitments to our allies in ONE and Strasbourg respectively, without compromising one over the other, which has seamlessly been the case, as of late.

As that, we have reached a conclusion to another manifesto. Although its quite preemptive and probably naive to state, but there are still a lot of ideas floating around inside that inferior mind of mine, but I’d would rather not even discuss them without a proper analysis of the pros and cons. It’s simple enough listing an idea that still need works to be realistic in implementing, but what matters is announcing an idea that can be implemented straight away. As such, if you want to hear of my glorious goodness from me, you’ll just need to elect my sorry arse. 😛

However, if anyone is curious to the ideas that haven’t made the first cut, then feel free to contact me, and I’ll happily discuss.

Other than that, rock your little heart out.

Jus’ sayin’
