Old Man of the Mountain

Good Evening Citizens of eRepublik!

My name is LennyA. I'm here to once again announce my Candidacy for the small, but great state of New Hampshire as a member of the America's Advancement Party. I ran and won for the first time in December-January, and then took a break last month because of some RL issues. After returning last month to retake my seat, I would like to ask you for your votes again this month.

I'm sure most of you are familiar with me by now. I've been around for more than 5 months and am very familar with eRepublik.

I have alot of experience. I have two terms as congressman under my belt, as well as being a former Sergeant in the National Guard. I'm active in my party, being the Firector of the Public Relations Department. I'm also an Assistant Attorney General (AAG)under Henry Baldwin on the forums.

I'm on eRepublik at least an hour every day, and often longer. I'm also on IRC alot and post frequently on the eUSA forums.

Now, here is my stance on some of the issues.

Hospitals/Defense Systems:
I wont be promising or campaigning for any hospitals or defense systems like most candidates. Because frankly, I don't believe that New Hampshire needs either a hospital or a defense system and they'd just be a waste of money. The only foreign country we border is Canada, and there is very little chance of war with them.

Minimum Wage:
Min. Wage should stay as it is. Making it higher might seem attractive at first, but it will just lead to to problems. You're not at Skill Level 0 for long, and making it higher will just mean prices for goods will have to be higher.

War:
War, as proven by UncleSam during his one-and-a-half terms, if used correctly, can be very beneficial. Citizens earn experience points and go up in rank, as well as increasing wellness. It is also good for the economy. It also keeps people from being bored and increases patriotism and pride for our country. And it helps to train our military. In general, I'm for war.

Taxes:
Right now I'm for going back to lower taxes. I feel strongly that we need very low or noexistent Import Taxes and I'll vote No on any proposal that boasts a high Import Tax. Lowering the import taxes is important for keeping the prices of goods affordable. I'd rather have higher Income Taxes. VAT should be moderate. Overall though, I think the taxes should be low.

Foreign Policy:
I believe we should sever all ties with ATLANTIS. It would be much better if we were just on our own. We are a superpower ourselves, and getting involved with alliances is just a bad idea.

Also, I'd like to apologize. I did not mention it during my platform last month, but in my victory article, that I would periodically write articles explaining how I voted, as many candidates do. I did not keep this promise, and I am sorry to those who were looking forward to them. However, it alone should not make your decide your vote. If I am reelected this month then I will make sure that I follow through this time.
