[Left Hand] Open letter...
BickUA
I'd like to say "good evening", but it's not good.
Today Ireland was humiliated in our CP's article [CP] A letter to eCroatia. Haven't read it? You should but it won't be pleasant reading.
It's clear that somebody could be disappointed by the fact that we were not invited to a new alliance with SPoland, Croatia... and UK. Somebody could be also disappointed by that fact that our old ally Croatia preferred UK over Ireland...
BUT
In that article our CP is writing to Croatia citizens trying to influence them to invite us to that new *possible* alliance "on the same rights as UK". But we haven't seen article from our CP asking it's nation if it want to join that alliance at all. No matter in what role - as a founder, as a member... Neither was asked congress.
He's even not talking as an equal to equal. He's crawling in front of Croatia asking to give us a chance (almost literally) to join that alliance.
This article looks like an article of small offended boy. And not as an article of CP of Proud country with it's principles, honour and opinion.
While we have another allies such as Canada, France and others, (who's not invited to that party) we're CP is crying to get us to that alliance, possibly injuring our relations with this countries. Also with this article we're losing friendly support of (at least) part of Croatians - nobody likes whiners.
We're proud that we're small country but good ally. Why we've someone decided that our small but good allies are worse than one big?
What should be done instead if our CP wants so much to be Croatian puppet (can't say anything else, it's puppet who's ready for public whining to get back to family when he was rejected)?
First - '[CP]' should be removed from the title and it should be treated as an article of ONE (two?) individual.
Second - Discussions or referendum should be held to understand if Ireland wants at all to be in such alliance (especially in such circumstances). BTW, you can vote here http://forum.erepublik.com/index.php?/topic/2229-ireland-alliance/ (my respect, RtK, for this iniciative. waiting for an article with filtered results in some time). Also here's an article from RtK about this "referendum"/voting - Referendum: Do you want to join the Croatia/Uk/Poland Alliance. Please vote there.
Third - Government, CP, congress should work according to nation's decision.
Fourth - Any international discussions, agreements should be based on equality of participants!

Also, TWO PROPAGANDA
Fixed. Sorry.
Why then we're helping France, Canada and Asgard for a while? Have missed when they were in TWO.
You're right.
PEACE PROPAGANDA
PRIDE POWER PAKISTAN
If elected President, I would airstrike Pakistan immediately in order to be close to good aul Broatia.
I can really understand this article, I actually agree with it.
The thing is, we've been on the same side since the start of this game, we thought it'd be good to stay. Ireland wouldn't join any alliance without the referendum, the CP's letter is just call for friendship, it's request to Croatia confirm us as their friends.
If they won't. Okay, we'll have to find another friends.
As we've discussed with Brian Boru in comments:
"We still have a right to be worried about a situation where eCroatia, pretty much our most loyal ally, will ally to the eUK, a country with which we have a lot of baggage." (c) Brian Boru
But CP don't have right to whine in the name of nation. He could issue official statement (if it's supported by nation, and it possibly would) or whine on his own.
Not in the way how it's done now 🙁
It wasn't whining lad, it was just throwing a shitstorm out there.
I prefer more subtle diplomatic means is all.
I think he replied you well in his comment. We have to act united, don't worry, noone is making any decision which can't be changed yet.
You can't expect referendum or something like that before anything is sure.
Mufc, this rhetoric affects whole nation while it have '[CP]' in title.
It affects our international image.
Well that's what CP should do mate. He's electing by majority of eIrish to have the right to publish those articles.
He should do it carefully 🙂
He shouldn't damage our country/it's image.
And he've failed this time.
Actually, the Cp is elected by eIreland to be its spokesperson and representative. He's well with in his duties to make such statements without consulting anyone.
I don't think we failed. We sent a clear message. Take us with respect or don't take us at all.
Believe it or not, negotiations to enter an alliance happen BEFORE a referendum, not after. How can we put anything to the public unless the proposal is solid first? You can't have an alliance referendum for an alliance that doesn't exist yet.
As for Spoland etc, the alternative is Serbia 😛 Enjoy justifying that to yourself.
I'm hoping a smaller "CoT-like" alliance forms for either side really. It'd be the most attractive option depending on the members.
That's definitely something to consider if things go tits up.
Negotiations - yes, sure.
Internal discussions - yes.
Public letter to citizens of foreign country with whining (yes, I still think it's whining) - NO.
----
Agree with Raven Anarcho. I don't want to stick to bigger countries cause I don't see allies (for now) on that side. But alliance of small countries kinda Asgard - why not.
Well, like I said, the letter was ill-judged, although I'm told it was the only way to grab the Croatians' attentions. Comments section is the ugliest I've ever seen for eIreland though, and I've played nearly six years now.
While not start with own citizens? At least with poll that Mufc have done some time ago (sorting countries)?
Well, because you can't rely on such polls of the public unless there's a solid case for what the proposition actually is. Without a solid proposition, the results are based entirely on speculation.
That seems illogical. Lets take the scenario you the MOFA go to Croatia and get an invite to join the alliance as a founder. now the referendum says no. now the pressure is on you so you cook the results and make the result yes. or you have to go to the Croatian Mofa and say sorry our people dop not want this..
You can't put a referendum forward if you have no details to give on what our place in the alliance would be, the command and political structure, what will be expected of us etc.
If you have the vote before the details, then you're effectively voting blind.
What if you vote before, and the details turn out to be shit?
...lets say you hold the referendum first. the people say no to the alliance then you can just go to mofa and say ok we do not want alliance just MPP's and nobodies time or expectations is wasted.
get instructions first then negotiate else your just wasting your time.
bhane does come off a bit weak with their cp opposed to it . He should just have waited a month for a new cp and then renegotiated after all does it matter if your a founding member or not except if founding members has extra rights but else we could just join and worm our way up to equal membership. we have players that is worth gold and do a lot of damage we need not be anything less than equal partners.
A legitimate anwser, given the item from our president.
Oh look...Kurgan has been proven right...again.
And when i said bhane framed votes for last referendum about deal with americans when he appointed only himself as vote counter you humanoids said i am trolling.
Bhane's open letter is a proof he had no intention to let irish people decide its own fate on honest referendum...or no referendum at all...
