[Kaiser] On a serious note.

9 Day 1,020, 17:51 Austria
I gave a rather comical appearance on the elections in my last article, and I believe it lacked some solid thought on our situation here.

Well, this is my solid thought.

Firstly,
I wish to take you back to a happier time, a time when eAustria was a warm and open land, and when the people there engaged in politics at their own pace. Political freedom was just that, and we had characters left right and centre, in more than one sense of the world. There was people such as Stancel, Alfred Ball, Rangeley, and various other well known players.

It was my most enjoyable time in the game for me, it was exciting, it was fun and above all it was Free. I still remember vividly my time working for the NFA, producing articles, working with my Party president and rejoicing when the NFA achieved its first President. Back then, the Croatian community was very strong and they worked with us, they didnt form their own parties and they didnt segregate themselves from the other nationalities. It was a joyous time to live here, regardless of your nationality.

Things started to change, after I was left in charge of my long supported party, the National Front Austria. At first, all was well, we had a drop in congress power due to the leaving of its former PP and his supporters, but it was still an enjoyable thing to run and take part in. We had political debates, and politics was booming as it always had, with characters, while diminished, still ever present in eAustrian society. Then, a newcomer to the political arena appeared, by the name of Hedera. He wasnt aggressive and he stayed in politics for about two weeks, before he declared he was running for president. Now, something I dont regret is supporting him for the presidency, since he was a candidate like any other.

Reasons for backing him were few and far between, but mainly they revolved around the opposing character BobbySAURON being not too fond of myself and my politics. Anyway, to cut a long story short, he won the elections and put me as vice president. Sadly, computing failures didnt allow me to be active for the first week, and I only knew after returning what had happened, Hedera had been revealed as a traitor and I believe retreated all regions to poland but one. It was a shock, not just to me but the entire community. The nation was in chaos, and due to my absence (I was second in the presidential race) there was no-one to put in charge, apart from the now in Brazil, BobbySAURON. He was shipped over and became president.

Now, understandably, politics were cut short in the name of national unity, and if memory serves me right, the following election was heavily biased in favour of one candidate due to the fact the PTO risk was ever present. This was accepted, and it had to be, but the whole atmosphere had changed. No longer were political debates and big characters present, most of them had fled to other countries, Stancel to the eNetherlands and Alfred long before to eCroatia. This period and about a month after this, is what many old guard members of eAustria still present refer to the "period of turbulence", as we fought PTO's and politics proceeded into a mire of stale and decrepit bickering.

Cutting out a while, I decided to run for president, and as I remember, it was sometime in June I was contacted by Fragreg. He stated he was head of some sort of fighting unit and wanted to come here. He said he would vote my way if granted citizenship and so would his group, as I still had a citizenship left I granted his request, the biggest mistake I have ever made in my whole eLife.

At first, Omnicorp simply fought for us, and helped us out in battles and the like. I had no problem with that, they werent trying to take us over (They brought 20 something people with them) and seemed to be noble people. The first thing that made me skeptical about them, was their purchasing of a hospital for us. Now, we had been offered Q5 hospitals by many people in the past including Djani the PTOer and a peculiar Japanese man by the name of Kenji Fujimoto. In the name of not accepting "bribes" we declined both requests.

Yet, to my suprise, the administration accepted Fragreg's gift and the hospital was given. Personally, I was against it because it now gave them a moral highground if they wanted to do something, I.E form a political party and gain power. My feelings were confirmed, when they did just this and ran candidates, using tactical voting to gain congress members. This was the first time I began to openly oppose them, as I believed that allowing a private militia to gain political power, was the road to dictatorship.

I watched their citizenship approvals, and, just as I had suspected, they began to let in Hun after Hun after Hun. I was disgusted, not at Omnicorp, but at the ruling elite to be completely oblivious to something which was essentially a quiet political takeover. Yet again, the hospital moral high-ground was used by Omnicorp to prove that they weren't going to do anything against us.

That month, I again decided to run for president and no opponent was chosen until late (about 3 days until the election) and this was Fragreg. Again, I had my worst fears confirmed, due to an IRC conversation where Fragreg promised he would not run for president for at least 6 months, and he understood that it could be seen as offensive to do so due to the nature of his organization. The first open betrayal I witnessed from Omnicorp, and, like it was scripted, the ruling elite dismissed it as a technicality, and Fragreg went on to win the elections. He won by around a 25 vote majority, and at that time 27 huns had been let into the country.

Of course, I openly shouted PTO and I was politically excommunicated for it, when the very basis of a PTO is to let foreign nationals into a country who all vote for one candidate, something that was the very doctrine of the Hungarian Omnicorp foundation.

An election or two passed, and we came to this. The Omnicorp party had chosen its next candidate, Kickericsy. This player was completely unknown to eAustria, and all his activity was based in Hungary, writing numerous articles in the country. It should be pointed out that not once had he paid the slightest concern to our country, apart from of course letting two huns in his congressional terms.

As it stands, the votes are 82 - 45 in the election with the Omnicorp candidate versus Samu-L, a long time eAustrian. The turnout has been higher than ever before, with 135 votes cast at the moment. Looking over the approvals, countless huns have been let through, and all without a single word of warning.

An unknown candidate, from a small 24 member party has aquired 82 votes, with major parties endorsements going to Samu-L.

If this isnt a silent PTO, I dont know what else is

It may not be the flag we want, but it is the one we have

Austria will always be a target for PTO's as long as the population remains so small. All it takes it one screw up from a congress member and then the cancer begins to grow.

Truth. I didn't want to say it before the election, because one wil be cast out for it but this IS a political takeover. Maybe not as hostile as Hedera's coup, but a TO nonetheless.
