[JLO4CP] Cabinet selections!

Day 1,926, 18:46 Published in USA USA by Jefferson Locke

My fellow Americans:

Normally, it would be beneficial for me to come out with an article about defense, and then an article about state, interior, media, and so on and so forth. However, these are not normal times. The short month requires lumping some of these things together, and honestly, I have no problem doing it, because an efficient government has all of these departments working side by side towards the same goal. Defense plans the wars and gets the citizens prepared to fight it, State lines up allied support for this war, interior makes sure that we have additional supplies for our people to maximize damage, and Media explains to the citizens our reasoning for war, keeps them up to date, and helps to build morale. All the various parts of the government work together. Even when we are not at war, the Defense dept. makes sure that the funds go to where they need to while the other parts work to keep the nation geared up and ready to either fight for our allies or defend against an enemy. And all depts. work against the domestic threat that faces us. That’s why in this article I plan to release a large portion of my cabinet, with a short description of what we plan to do this month following them. First, I will start with Defense:

Head of the NSC:

Emdoublegee

I talked to Emdoublegee and told him about my plans to train the next generation, so that we can get them ready for leadership. I told him that I wanted someone that can really teach and mentor, and someone that is organized, knowledgeable, and committed. And then I asked him to come out of retirement to head up the NSC. Emdoublegee is an amazing teacher, and knows how to deal with people. This is the person that I want to plan our next campaign, and also to mentor those that will be planning campaigns for months and years to come. It was an honor that he came out of retirement to work for the nation this month.

Secretary of Defense:

Duncan Crowe

Duncan Crowe is currently the SoD, and I think that this month will be a month for him to shine in. There are some budget problems, but after talking to Dunks and some others, we’re going to work hard to make sure that we can offset some of that this month. Dunks has a mind for numbers and data, and is another member of the new generation that we are ushering in. He will be successful this month, and in months to come, because I know firsthand the drive that he has.

Secretary of State:

Tenshibo

I’ve had the honor of working close with Tenshibo for the past two months now, and he has impressed me immensely with his knowledge and abilities in Diplomacy. He is an excellent advisor, and with only one month to go until the CoT vote on full membership, he is the person I trust to get the job done, and pass on his knowledge to the state staff as well, to prepare the next generation of SoS’s. And we will need that, because I truly hope that one day I am able to vote for Tenshibo for president.

Secretary of Interior:

RainySunday

What to say about Rainy? I’ll just speak from the heart on this one. I’m not gonna mention her past accomplishments, they are far too numerous. I started working and talking to Rainy a few months ago, when I first got into government. She is someone that doesn’t speak much, but when she does, she commands attention and respect. She is one of the most dedicated people in this game to her government, and honestly, I couldn’t imagine this game without her. She is simply amazing at everything she does. She has done outstanding this month in interior, and I want that momentum to continue. We have talked about some plans that I will write about in my next article, One of them being a Miss America Pageant, and I know that she is perfect for these things. She is also a mentor, and just as dedicated to the next generation as I am.

Secretary of Education:

Mr Swagg

Another member of the newer generation, this guy has done a lot for education this term. He is someone with a bright future in this game, and someone that will help educate players in the various things of erep. He is someone that I talk to on a regular basis about pretty much everything, and someone I have the deepest confidence in as a player, on a skill and character level. We will work this month on making sure that players are educated not just on the normal skills, but also on current events here and around the e-world.

Secretary of Communication/Media

Fingerguns

Fingerguns is someone that I have known literally since day one, and has had a lasting impact on me as a player and person. She is always active, and very new player oriented. She has a deep respect and love for this country, and will be in charge of the WHPR, working with the writing team and getting the next generation of writers ready for this country. She will also be working with sixth parties, as once ever WHPR there will be a “sixth party spotlight” in which sixth parties can write up something about who they are, and their thoughts on the nation. Strong parties = a strong nation, and this will help make the sixth parties even stronger, and make sure they have the voice they deserve to have. We will also be highlighting media throughout the week to keep our citizens informed, and she will be making sure that media comes out from all the depts.

Next article will feature some info on deputies, as well as some other plans for what you can expect from a Jefferson Locke presidency.

I hope that you are as excited about this cabinet as I am! I am ready to lead this country into tomorrow with our heads held high. I will be a CP with a vision of the future, dedicated to helping us reach our full potential as a nation.

Wait.

You're putting forward almost the EXACT same cabinet from this month?

Have you been paying attention at all to what's going on?

I'm honestly not sure if you're serious with this article or not...

There are some fine people in your cabinet.

Your idea for a 6th party spotlight is very good, and heading in the right direction for inclusiveness without assimilation. My only issue is that as a 6th party president, it is unlikely that I'll volunteer to work with anyone that has shown disdain for 6th parties in general. But who knows, crazier people have changed their beliefs before with time and understanding...I know I have. I hope this is the case.

I wish you the best of luck! This will be a difficult choice for me this month.

*Impossible requirement*

fingerguns
fingerguns Day 1,927, 07:46

I find it difficult to work with people who have shown disdain for the top parties simply because they aren't one. We can power through, Bia. It'll probably make for really good media, actually.

Bia Pandora
Bia Pandora Day 1,927, 18:39

Well, I think everyone knows that is completely untrue. I do my best to support all groups. But nice try. Perfect illustration, thanks.

Bia Pandora
Bia Pandora Day 1,927, 18:47

I appreciate your efforts, Jefferson, in contacting me to discuss the media idea and issues, and I still believe the idea is fantastic and I hope to see it implemented in the future.

While the idea shows incredible merit towards inclusiveness, your SOM candidates attitude, historically and in the present, obviously do not.

But after consideration, I'll be voting one of the other two. A Secretary of Communications/Media who believes bullcrap and trolling make for "good media" is exactly what we don't need right now.

I like you and respect the efforts you have made lately in reaching out to players of all groups, but this choice honestly makes me have to question the rest.

I wish you the best of luck, truly.

These people are good at what they do. I admire that you didn't feel the need to throw the baby out the bathwater and dismiss everyone from JK's crap month. You're actually involved though so you know who is working and doing well and who isn't. These were level-headed decisions.
