[Interview Series] No.2 with Alexsander.V.Popovic
Following my last interview with FreeGigi, Alex offered to be interviewed and that got me thinking, perhaps I might be able to string this out a bit with interviews with numerous people, from different Political Parties and Military Units, in the eUK, or even abroad, to find out more about them and perhaps get off them some advice for new people starting the game or just for everyone in general. So without further ado this is the second in the Interview Series...
Let's start at the beginning,
How did you first get into eRepublik?
"I got started playing eRepublik in 2011 with my 1st account with my real life name and over my facebook profile. Naturally I started playing for my RL country Serbia and it was classical playing (two click mode) but soon enough I'd got bored and wanted to try my luck in other fields of this game and that it is politics. When I"ve gain enough strength I joined political Party United eSerbia(Ujedinjena eSrbia-UES prim aut) and it was great time, lot's of good people I met there and hanging around with them. Soon after I was dissapointed how that political Party turned out their politics and with very bad people who ran it, I left UES and soon after Serbia. Majority of them hadn't like me anyway, they considered me as a traitor, liar, scammer and I was hurted becouse of that and their constant accusiations and spitting towards me."
"After I left Serbia I came here as well as in Serbia here were the people who consider me as PTOer,and want to PTOing eUK with lot's of other guys from Serbia which I hadn't been with them and not knowing them,but that slanndering and accusations hadn"t stop for long period,but soon enough accusations and spitting stop,and I've proven them and myself that I am kind and helpful guy want to be with everyone no matter which Party or MU they belong to. I didn't mention that I came here in 2011."
On your current account you have done quite a lot in only a year and two months, being Country President once, Congressman five times, Prime Minister of eUK, and your are currently, until the end of today, PP of Workers Right Party, what has that all been like?
"As you said I've held various positions in the Country and in the Party, all of them have been like a fairy tail to me, being on all of those positions or at least on some of them, it was very inspiring and commitment which I needed helped me to become fully dedicated, and on each of those roles that, I've been part, was very hard to achieve. Being active and taking responsibilities and making hard decisions for me in one of those accounted roles was very pleasant and in the same time hard and I needed to be on every place on every duty which are in front of me in order to get job done as best as I can."
Ok, What has kept you playing the game?
"Well believe or not people kept me playing the game. Well at least the good people as they were with me at my start helping me in every need,donating me food, weapons and other stuff as well liked me becouse of my stance of speaking laud and everything what's on my mind, not hiding anything, being straight with everyone even though some of them hadn't been straigth to me and consider me as a scammer and liar and all of that becouse they are jealous of my activity. Also the playing this game kept me becouse I have a lot's of free time in real life, even though real life and obligations in real life are more important than this game.
I'd been considering to quit from the playing the game and I've done that and made it a certain break in the past and the break hasn't lasted too long as I've continue playing becouse I see even though that some of the players seeing this game as a dead game, but I am not seeing it like that and I'll playing this game further, but don"t know for how long it will be, maybe a 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years more, I don't know for sure and I can't make any predictions for how long I will playing the game."
Fair enough, how do you see the WRP progressing after this PP election?
"Well sadly WRP even though I didn't want it, are in the middle of hard times, due to the MTO of the country from MEK and rapid decreasing numbers of members are things which worried me and still worry because membership is falling and people can't see the point of joining the WRP, as they expect that they will not get something or anything that they want and that is OK, but the point is that circumstances we are in as citizens of this country aren't good and the country is facing hard times which have never been like this in the past.
Two times MTOed, one time PTOed from the certain group of people in the past and even now, all of that is reflecting on the members as they don't want to be part of it and in general citizenry of this country is decreasing as people are leaving the country because they don't want to fight and work for the country which is in the middle of the MTO, that"s the main reason why people don't want to be involved in politics and to join in any of TOP 5 Parties,such is WRP.
WRP is fine and has decent Party values, valuing each member and his opinions, and the decision that member makes, and stance that he express all of that will be in the Party on consideration and everyone in the Party should make own choice honestly and with the respect from all. WRP is democratic Party, a Party which values opinions of members, and in the same time gives opportunity to such members. Further developing of the Party will depend on the situation which is currently happening, and WRP need to find a way to overcome that and with all other Parties in UK, who need to cooperate and develop more closer relations, also to offer something different and that certainly not is financial favour or something illegal, something different and that is mainting core membership valuing them as well as helping newbies to find their interest to be in the party and staying in the party."
What was your first reaction to the dictatorship introduction by Plato?
"Well at first, when Plato had introduced the Dictatorship module, I thought ok this is what we have now, I mean CP who is in charge and his decisions whether they are good or bad and whether Congress like or dislike those decisions that need to be implemented and respected in democratic way. What I am trying to say is that elected CP is suppose to be the Dictator as it's the name speaking in some ways, the CP should dictate Congress about what need to be done etc, then Wayne Kerr became Dictator with his MU, but even that I didn't find anything bad as he is just use this new module as one of experienced and great UKer for playing not using on the wrong way.
In general this module isn't good at all,as this module allows foreign and wealthy citizens to MTO counties and allows them to use assets from the country account and with all of that destroying the country itself like we have now from those foreigners-MEK."
What advice would you give to players politically?
"Well if new players want to get involved in politics, I would recommend to start in some small party or, if you believe you will be active and will contribute more in the Party and generally in the country join in the one of TOP 5 Parties, there you have chance to fully develop your career as young politician, to do that, you have to be recognised as someone who is trustworthy, loyal and who will bring something new in the Party as well as in the country:
-applying for Congress is one of your goals to further up your carreer
-candidate yourself for PP but first develop your trust among membership and make some sort of base of your Party friends and colleagues to whome you are helping and they help you as well as to trust you. Make your decisions, but first think about them also listen advices from older and experienced members.
-Get involved in everything, be active on the Party feed, promote yourself as well as the Party you are member.
-Be considerable to all in your Party and when and after you gain enough experience in politics and in the Party than you will be ready for something bigger than just as ordinary member. The more political experience you gain the best and the easiest you'll gain trust from the people and than you will be ready for Country Presidency and to run the country.
One more thing before anything: Don't rush into politics, don't join in any Party before you see what that Party can give you as well as what you can give to the Party. Also before involvement in politics, keep your streingth increasing, train more, use discount each month of the 1st week in the month and upgrade TG and TRAIN more, no politics before training and fighting, training and fighting first than everything else."
