[IFP] [Rikian] The Importance of Congress

Greetings to all in eIreland,

I am writing this article to announce my running for congress this term. This term is particularly important for eIreland because it marks the return of an actual in-game congress since the Lituanian wipe. eIreland is a completely different landscape now. Congress was disbanded, the constitution was ripped up, and the former dictator was deposed and a new one installed in her place. A lot has happened indeed.

The IFP is the oldest political party in eIreland, if I'm not mistaken, but that doesn't make us outdated. We believe in this country and we will fight to make it the best it can be. That's why our members are running on Democracy, Transparency, and Collaboration.

We believe that in order to have a shot at freedom, Democracy is a must. The power of the citizens of eIreland have surprised me again and again with their will to do good for the eWorld and those in need. Democracy gives us a power that those without it crave. In that, we believe that the people bring their ideas and strengths and vote to bring congress back. In the IFP platform article, we discuss in detail how to streamline congress to make it a more effective body that represents everyone.

Transparency is vital to the health of any great civilization. We believe that an informed citizenry will produce active players who are invested in eRepublik in general and eIreland in particular.

Lastly, collaboration is something that his country has traditionally lacked. We seek to create cross-party collaboration in order to achieve the absolute best results we can. The IFP has been able to cross party lines many times in our history and I think that gives eIreland a strength not found in many other places. If we set aside our differences, there's really nothing we couldn't accomplish.

I hope you'll consider voting for the IFP during this congressional term. We're looking to make a positive change for the good of eIreland.

Trito has been playing for eIreland ~2years before he ever heard of you or Rik. He is making an observation that the folks who prize their voice the highest, do not actually use it, or perhaps aren't really playing at all.

We are playing now. Current actives and not old politicians would be an asset to Congress, sometimes they overlap, but you can't say I'm not active.

I will concede I spend a fair amount of time text messaging Rikian to get him online. He is balancing school, work and home life as I am sure many in the community are, 🙂.

The importance of Congress can be summed up in two sentences.

With Congress Ireland was wiped. Without Congress Ireland is active and on the map as well as member of an alliance.

To sum up:
Why would anyone exclude everyone else except party people in decision making?
