~I Believe in a Thing Called America~

The trite saying that history repeats itself has come back to bite America in the raw behind. Arrogance, blindness, over confidence and the backup plan called "Atlantis" was once the agenda of most, if not all, Americans during the time in which Peace and Atlantis were on the same playing field. However, while one was fallen, the other has been built up into the supersoldier of alliances, and America, along with Canada, is now feeling the ultimate backlash from unjustly started wars. Over the past few weeks many have asked themselves, at one point or another, what the cause of this downfall has been. Vengeance. Russia, Indonesia, and the rest of the Peace nations are holding an anti-imperialism festival over the Pacific coast, and it is only because of what has happened in France, Mexico, and Portugal. Past presidents, congressmen, and blind patriots are to blame, but America does not need to dwell in the past unless thinking of a solution to this priority 1 situation.
By declaring war against America, Peaceniks are saying that we need to learn how to sympathize. Past empathy about a country's homeland has been rather disgusting, spawning from French Toast, spreading to Operation Final Blow, and ending in the Declaration of War to Russia. America needs to realize that a homeland is just that - home, just as the admins put it. We cannot live in the constant present assuming that all is well with whatever we do. As I stated months ago, war is ultimate, but the way countries around the world have been acting, I am starting to question motives. What can this country expect if we do not change, if we do not observe that Peace is mimicking what we were doing for the past several months.
Surrendering is not the solution, but neither is continuing to spend hundreds and thousands of gold on this war. America needs change. Not administrative change, not congressional change, but national change. Think optimistically, but intelligently too. In real life as much as anything we have seen the fall of many great empires that have declined due to blind ambition and greed. This mindset has befell our great country as well, unfortunately, and this country's loss derives from the refusal to say "We were wrong." Though Peace may also be imperialistic, the actions deemed acceptable by America and their high figures have reached such odd, unethical standards that one has to wonder who here is right and who is wrong.
I know this is not the article many of you wanted me to write, but that article is on its way and will be published sometime in the first weeks of August. Until then, keep fighting, keep your chins up, and keep a level head. Because without fighting, this country will fall. Because without being optimistic, this country will fall. Because without being rational, we're no better than the goons.

Sure, the US was over-confident. Sure, we made mistakes. However, I find the idea that our attacks were unjust or morally wrong laughable. This is a strategy game. We tried to expand our territory. There is nothing wrong with that.

Our wars were started by a long chain of less than satisfactory Presidents, Scrabman was the exception of those Presidents. Congress is to blame as well, as collective entity and not individuals. As individuals most Congress(wo)men are fine individuals but put together, like all politicians bad things are thought up and created.
Benn this isn't PEACE's way of saying ANYTHING. This them continuing their long chain of wars they justify by saying we started. Atlantis was created to counter the threat of PEACE. That alone says that PEACE started this. Just like their founders, the Goons, their power will wane. They will fade and PEACE will just become a part of eRepublik History like the Goons and Atlantis. As I said, everything EVERYTHING is finite. The end shall come to everything.

I just don't see why the fact that America attacked France, Portugal or Mexico in the pas would be considered a bad thing, this is a war game, it's simple as that, being peaceful and all isn't the best way to play this game at all, the eUK could easily tell you that, my point is that you guys wanted to fight some wars because that's what this game is about, and it's not like you fought an unbalanced war and just attacked small countries with no defence, you attacked countries with MPP's, countries that did manage to defend themselves, so you attacked because this game asks you to attack someone once in a while, the difference between you and PEACE is that PEACE only attacked back when they clearly outnumbered and outpowered us.
@Emerick, Interesting argument, but we didn't attack actual countries. We attacked in-game regions based on actual countries. If people have some emotional attachment to those regions, we're not responsible for their issues.
I don't understand this attachment. Seeing our regions fall to PEACE doesn't bother me any more than losing ground in any other game. I'm disappointed, but I don't feel that PEACE has wronged me.
and it's not like you had a lot of countries to choose from to attack.. you attacked who you could, all this emotions-moral i'm going to cry stuff is just... i just find it BS to be honest. This is a game, a war game, it's not real life, it's not a place where people die and families get ripped apart, it's not a place where houses explode and people go suicidal on other people, it's just a game where, if you're powerful enough, you try to expand your territory to get some regions/resources, PEACE is doing the exact same thing, they're not doing it for the MORAL of the story, they're doing it because this game needs a war, if everybody would just stay in their original borders and attack nobody else because ITS NOT MORAL AND IT RIPS SOULS APART, i would quit this game as it would become very very VERY boring.

scrabman wasn't a really great president, either. His budget had way too much spending in it, which appeased the military, but it wasn't forward-thinking. If we had saved more, maybe 25% more, we'd have a lot more money right now. He also helped to instill a sense of overconfidence.
Korin, just because you don't understand emotional attachments in the game doesn't invalidate them.
If we didn't save we'd be in even worse shape.. our military would still be terrible like it was a handful of months ago. Now, it's decent/good.

Interesting article Ben, which shows ability to look at the eWorld outside the normal nationalistic perspective.
Its interesting how important, the notion of a country is still so important even in such a imaterial reality and how our inability to undertsand different perspectives is so embeded in our DNA that it also reflects itself as part of our behaviour in a virtual world.
Will this war change this. Probably not. Probably things will get even more focus on our Nation rather than our ideas, but btw war was never a good influence when trying to take good decisions
PEACE will not likely consider a Peace offer until the United States is rendered impotent and unable to raise a large Army, nor fund one, in the future.
That Means Texas is Gone, Arkansas is Gone. Tennessee is Gone, and other High value, resource rich areas that could fund a beating down nation back to glory will be taken. Once America is rendered helpless will PEACE likely halt the war.
I don't want to hear even 1 bad word about Uncle Sam or Scrabman from any PEACE GC citizen - the people who opened 2 huge floodgates into eUSA and wasted a mountain of gold on foreign missions of little benefit to the eUSA deserve only praise and gratitude from us. I already sent a "thank you" note to Scrabman when the liberation of North America started.
Surrendering really is not an option (for many reasons). If you can't handle this fight PEACE will have to split in two and send you reinforcements. In the meantime put taxes at 99% and sell war bonds! You don't have to worry about tomorrow if there's no tomorrow
grakulan, I hope you realize that my war on Mexico really has nothing to do with our countries current situation, so you're wrong in saying that I opened a major flood gate. Understand that Benn opened the wars of France and Portugal, and Justinious was the one who attacked Portugal.
Also, I spent 431 gold to fight PEACE in a foreign war, Scrabman spent 5K gold to liberate one region from Turkey. Both operations were successful, but you tell me who did a worse job in preserving America's interests, because I obviously spent a "mountain" of gold

America, if you do not know what continent you are from, is constitued of many countries, including the USA. And is divided itself in two part, north and south linked together by Mexico.
America isn't even all allied with the USA, as some countries are part of PEACE.
