[I&W] Important Announcement

Day 731, 07:32 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Kixtart

Last Wednesday I told the PP’s of LSD, BP and GLD that I&W would again not be doing strategic voting in the coming congress election but that I would instead focus my efforts on the elections in Belgium. That is the sacrifice we were willing to make because the government of our country wasn’t organizing anything and we wanted to win back Belgium.

A lot happened since and is still happening now and we of Iron & Wine feel betrayed. When Romania invaded Flanders and later Brussels, Iron & Wine asked a lot of its members to go to Flanders and get Belgian citizenship and vote there. More than 20 of our most active people did that and continue to have Belgian citizenship. This Belgian citizenship prohibits them from joining a political party or voting in any of our UNL elections. They are asked to vote instead in the elections in Belgium which costs them a great deal of wellness (4 trips in total).

This sacrifice also cost our party a lot of political power, something we gladly did for the union, we went from 10 seats to 7 right now. The other parties (LSD, BP and GLD) agreed that I&W’s sacrifice wouldn’t be forgotten. We feel that recent events and the lack of information sharing by the government have shown that they have forgotten these sacrifices and that they are abusing this situation to their own advantage.

The government seem to think that Belgium is no longer a priority because they are too busy doing backdoor politics as AndreasIssakson stated here.

That is why we, the party members of Iron & Wine, see no choice but to ask our members with Belgian citizenship to come back to the UNL and get UNL citizenship. We remain committed to the Union and will continue to be so. However, we strongly believe that the whole Union is in jeopardy.
