++ Harrison for America: New Ideas (Take Two) ++
More Updates: I've decided to remove the tradition pictures from campaign articles.
Update: The Admins have forced me to no longer show tradition pictures. Therefore, I'm going to have to tone them down I bit. Also, I have to rewrite this article. Sorry to everyone who loved them
America, you deserve better than rhetoric.. America deserves new ideas. Platforms based on the status quo are boring and tailor-made for a loser's campaign. I am here to bring new ideas to America and I'm ready to implement them. New ideas are what pushes our nation forward, and I've got quite a few good ones, so I'd like to think:
1. Increased Dept of Education Attention/Funding
The Department of Education currently runs on little to no budget and isn't as much of a focal point as I want it to be. Make no mistake, the Department is well run and does it's job splendidly, but I strongly believe that a more widescale Department would be beneficial to our country. Whether it means promoting the Department more in my articles or offering money to make NAU (one of Emerick's best ideas) a state-run university, we need to get the Department available to new players like we never have before. Also, I want to start an off-site recruitment drive for new players. "But why, Harry, we already have a ton of players?!" I know we do, but right now, we have about 75% politicians and 25% gamers. Gamers are what makes this game run, and we need more of them to be successful. A 50-50 split would make us, in my mind, the most powerful nation in the world.
2. Increased oversight via Federal Budget Coordinator.
The Budget Coordinator will, in all reality, serve as a Federal Auditor. This will be a numbers person who will analyze the current budget, where it goes, and how well each Department is managing their money. No one will be having sticky fingers and taking pennies here and there, because they will be caught. If Departments are not spending their tax dollars right, they will be subject to removal. The Budget Coordinator will be a critical role in the increased government oversight movement and will allow us to analyze, predict, and change how we spend our money.
3. Newly formed Technology Department.
To move forward in this e-World, we must make good use of the resources given to us. Luckily, we've got some great coders here in America. People like Andra, Pearlswine, Publius and Moishe are all great programmers, and we can use their talents to better the country. The small changes with technology can go a long, long way. I was talking to Andra the other day and he tells us we've learned how to embed images in PM's, which will help with tracking so we can see who reads which PM's and see what recruitment pitches are best to new players. We can work on automated scripts to make programs like Meals on Wheels and the Quartermaster General portion of the army less time consuming. Technology is the next step for our nation.
and, finally, to cap it off:
4. Increased Military Budget.
As it stands, the military gets the lion's share of our budget. That is certainly true. However, at a certain point, what else do we need to purchase?. The US could use maybe one more Q5 hospital, which I'd like to see happen during my administration, but beyond that, all we have left to fund are social programs and the military. The military is the center of this game. Entire industries rely on military conquest for their well-being, and almost every industry indirectly relies on it in some way. Without war, this game would become a stalemate of money hoarding and political takeovers. With an increased military budget, we can continue our increased dominance on the world stage. Freeing regions in Turkey, most notably Central Greece, was a great success for our Armed Forces, but we're only just begun the long fight and we've got to keep our military armed and ready to fight. With an increased budget, our military will be the finest fighting force in the world.

That's cool and all, and I'll def look into that once I'm privy to the info, but I'd like to see a bit more spent on projects at home, to give younger players, not yet getting the full benefit of the military, something fun to do, too.

For instance, the wiki team. That's 1g per member every week. I'm going to propose a monthly Pulitzer Prize soon, that'll be 25g every month. Just a few cheap things. It won't be so much as a dent in the budget, but we should allocate some funds for people at home.

Harrison Richardson, Your plans sound like more of the same to be honest. Having watched Uncle Sam, then the Scrabman farce, now your running, I can say that there is NOTHING new thats going to be done.
Ideas are great and all, But you need to flesh them out. Give them some substance, maybe some information on where your going to get this funding while not hurting the rest of the budget.
Having been an eUS citizen, I have one MAJOR idea for you. Fund the NATIONAL GUARD so that the people who need the weapons and experience most get it. Nothings worse than hearing that the (Then ARMY) got more funding than the National Guard, which is supposed to train our soldiers and get them ready for actual wars.
I can tell you having fought bare handed for most of the mexican war, it was frustration city. The NG Co's were just as frustrated as they were told funding would be given and little to none was.
So again, flesh out your ideas. Provide details... and for the love of god, Fund the national guard and their Training Divisions so they get experience fighting WITH weapons.
Just my thoughts. While I no longer call the eUSA my home, I still wish to see its people do better than they currently are.

@Clairee has a great and extremely valid point... but in the world of politics, one has to please the majority of the electorate. My guess is that the majority is male, and of a certain age. And almost certainly doesn't get to look at that sort of stuff IRL.
Perhaps a compromise is in order? Perhaps a third party could publish those pictures whilst Mr Richardson is in office? I joked on my shout the other day about starting a "Play-E-Boy" newspaper - maybe there's more to this idea than just a crappy punning punchline?

The National Guard does get funding and like I said, I'm going to push for more overall military funding, NOT only marine funding. I don't really know how this is more of the same when, in one article, I've brought 4 new ideas that I've never heard in a campaign before. We have a surplus, as I believe I've stated, so all this funding won't require a raise in taxes at all.
One should not get popular with the people because of the posting of female pics.

What is the one asset women have that men will never have (at least not to that degree)? their femininity. Women have a power over men. Do you wish to completely under-utilize your potential?
But besides that, I don't see what is wrong with the photos. how would this alienate the female constituents. In fact, I would believe that it only empowers them. These women are shown as icons of feminine beauty and sexuality in HR's postings.
I would understand your point of view if this was a collection of hard-core porn images or something equally degrading to women. That is NOT what HR is doing in these posts.
When Playboy came around, they changed the porn industry by introducing a revolutionary new category called "soft porn." It was designed to put women on a pedestal, not put them down. Everyone who was anyone wanted to appear in a playboy magazine. you must know this.
Anyway, I respect your opinion, I simply seek to understand the basis upon which you formulate it.

@Relorian - There is no National Guard in the current US military. You are complaining about issues that no longer exist. The current US military is nothing like what existed during Mexican War. Soldiers from the US Training Division, Home Guard and 200+ Mobile Infantry troopers (these 3 used to be the National Guard) were deployed and fought in the Turkish campaign that liberated Israel and Central Greece. They were all equipped.
You can criticize as you wish, but you should know that you're out of date on that issue.

Well, while I don't like it and think it is excessive, I can understand why they would want to delete some of your more racy photos. particularly the latest Megan Fox one. While that was probably one of my top 5 favorites, I can see the reasons for the admins concern. But Bikinis? seriously? that's a little harsh. I mean, half the images in those fashion magazines you see at the grocery store would fall into that category! I don't know....
What do you think about Q5 hospitals? I hear we can only have two because we need two ridiculously strong states in case we are attacked. What about if we get attacked in form of a PTO? Plenty of states are won by less than 20 votes, and this is only making it easier for them(the PTOers) with the fact that we compress our citizens into only two states.
Will you increase the number of Q5 hospitals, or Q4/Q3 hospitals. Perhaps we should stop convincing our citizens to abandon their state.

All sounds very positive, especially liking the DoE an wiki stuff, but you've not mentioned much about foreign policy, which seems to be the main deifference in your's and Emerick's running platforms. Does "we can continue our increased dominance on the world stage" mean more wars? I understand this helps the economy but I much prefer Emerick's more neutral stance, as even if we have a very strong military we do seem to be pretty open to PTO's in a lot of states.

@ grynch q5 hospitals have nothing do to with PTOs. People who want to vote in a certain state just move and then vote. Heck, eStates have no real use in this game except that some of them are useful because of high resources and some are cannon fodder.
Q5 hospitals do have something to do with PTOs, they spread out the population which makes it harder to win said states. I'd like to place 1 more Q5 hospital and keep 2 more in reserve.
