[GPN] No sheep in Congress!

Ben jij nog geen lid van een politieke partij en weet je nog niet op wie je de 25e gaat stemmen? Later in dit artikel geven we je een aantal goede redenen om te stemmen op Geuzen Partij Nederland (GPN). Maar laten we eerst even kijken naar de dingen die we de afgelopen tijd naar het hoofd geslingerd kregen en wat daar nou echt achter zit.
De dictatoriale partij vol domme schapen?
Misschien heb je in (de comments onder) artikelen en op forum zo hier en daar gelezen dat wij een dictatoriale partij zouden zijn met een paar marionettenspelers aan het hoofd en veel hersenloze schapen die volgen. Dat komt de “oppositie” namelijk beter uit dan te geloven dat wij gewoon de grootste partij zijn omdat we actief zijn, hard werken, eerlijke kansen geven aan alle spelers en waar mensen vrijwillig bij gaan omdat we juist geen politieke spelletjes spelen.
Geen ruimte voor andere partijen in de regering?
GPN heeft het afgelopen jaar vaker de regering geleid dan welke andere partij ook, en al deze regeringen waren open voor alle partijen. Logisch dat mensen die de macht willen, proberen te doen alsof ze geen eerlijke kansen krijgen. Maar dat is een leugen. Neem nou de vele nieuwe spelers in regeringen of Weekstrom (VVN), of Djirtsdew (DemNL), twee zeer gewaardeerde vaste waarden in alle GPN regeringen. Gewoon vanwege inzet en kwaliteiten, loyaliteit en teamspirit.
De arrogante partij die geen tegenspraak duldt?
Er is nooit een excuus om arrogant te zijn. Maar wij kunnen het ook niemand verbieden, want in GPN zijn alle spelers gelijk. Je mag wel overtuigd zijn van je eigen gelijk, zeker als je je mening baseert op informatie (en advies) van spelers die alle ontwikkelingen actief volgen en statistieken bijhouden. Overigens mag je je afvragen of wij zoveel arroganter zijn dan de oppositie. Terwijl het hun blijkbaar toch niet lukt om meer mensen te overtuigen en ze het toch verliezen op argumenten.
De partij die het Congres onder controle wil houden?
Kijk, het is een feit dat de voorgaande verkiezingen voor GPN heel gunstig uitpakten. Maar wij konden het niet helpen dat DemNL bijvoorbeeld 3 zetels verloren liet gaan. We zijn democratisch gekozen. Bovendien spelen wij dit spel ingame en is forum secundair. Als je echt wilt geloven dat het ons om de macht in congres te doen zou zijn, verklaar dan maar waarom we nu zo hard onderhandelen voor meer regio’s in Canada (en dus meer congreszetels voor iedereen) .
De partij die onder en boven de wet staat?
Oeh, die hebben we vaak gehoord. Dus dit zou dan de “GPN manier” zijn: eigen beleid doordrammen en de wet negeren als het ons niet uitkomt. Nou, eigenlijk zijn er best wel wat spelers die heel goed aanvoelen hoe beknellend de wet soms is. Hoe er misbruik wordt gemaakt van mazen, en hoe mensen zich verschuilen achter “het mag van de wet” terwijl je heel goed aanvoelt dat het gewoon niet rechtvaardig is. En dat is wat GPN inderdaad graag wil veranderen.
En daarmee komen we bij een aantal belangrijke issues voor GPN in congres:
1. de Wet moet worden geïnterpreteerd naar de intentie en niet naar de letter
2. de belangen van eNederland staan boven alles en de wet moet zich daarnaar voegen (uiteraard via de geëigende middelen en kanalen)
3. volledige verantwoording over financiële staatstransacties (4 eyes principle), zonder noodzaak voor volledige transparantie
4. er moet strenger worden opgetreden tegen persoonlijke aanvallen op forum
5. jonge, ambitieuze spelers moeten bovenaan de lijst staan bij congresverkiezingen en ook alle kansen krijgen in de regering als staatssecretaris
6. subsidieprogramma’s voor beginnende spelers moeten opnieuw onder de aandacht gebracht worden
Hierbij willen we overigens benadrukken dat dit de mening is van de meeste GPN spelers in het huidige congres, en dat ieders mening wordt gerespecteerd ook als die afwijkt van deze punten. In de nieuwe congrestermijn is er ook binnen GPN weer alle ruimte voor inhoudelijk debat, zoals altijd.
Wij willen tot slot nog even alle mensen bedanken die onze partij steunen en hebben gesteund in de afgelopen regeertermijnen. Die, bij het ontbreken van congresverkiezingen, door de steun tijdens de CP verkiezingen lieten zien dat ze samen met GPN willen werken aan een sterker eNederland.

Are you not yet a member of a political party and also not sure whom to vote for on the 25th? Later on in this article we will give you some good reasons why to vote for Geuzen Partij Nederland (GPN). But let’s first take a look at the things we have been accused of recently and what is really behind it.
The dictatorial party with stupid sheep?
You may have read here and there in (the comments below) articles and on forum that we would be a dictatorial party with a few puppetmasters and a lot of brainless sheep following. This would sure suit the “opposition” better than the fact that we are the largest party because we are active, work hard, give equal chances to all players and a party that people join voluntarily especially because we do not play political charade.
No room for other political parties in the government?
You should know that GPN led more governments in the past year than any other party, and all of these governments were open to all parties. Logically, people who would like to take over the power, would like you to believe they were not given equal chances. But that is a lie. Take f.i. the many new players or Weekstrom (VVN), or Djirtsdew (DemNL), two highly valued people in all GPN led governments. Just becaue of their effort and capabilities, loyalty and teamspirit.
The arrogant party that does not take criticism?
There is no excuse to be arrogant. But we will not tell people what they cannot do, because in GPN all players all equal. Yet you may be convinced of your own opinion, based on information (and advice) from players who follow all developments actively and keep up with statistics. Besides that, you might wonder if we are that more arrogant than the opposition. While they apparently are not able to convince more people, and they lose on arguments.
The party that want control of Congress?
Look, it is a fact that the last elections ended in a quite favorable way for GPN. But we could not help that DemNL f.i. let 3 seats get lost. We were democratically chosen. Furthermore, we play this game ingame and forum is secundary. If you really want to believe we would be in it for the power in Congress, then explain why we are negotiating so hard for more regions in Canada (creating more Congres seats for everyone).
The party that stands above the Law?
Oeh, that’s one we heard a lot. So this is supposed to be the “GPN way”: push our own policy at all cost and ignore the Law whenever it does not suit us. Well, in fact there are quite a few players who feel how rigid the Law sometimes can be. How loopholes are being abused and how people hide behind “the Law allows it” when you just know it is just not right. And that is something GPN indeed wants to change.
And with this, we come to some important issues for GPN in Congress:
1. the Law should be interpreted after its intention and not after the letter
2. the stakes of the eNetherlands are more important than anything else and the Law should be adjusted accordingly (of course through the official means and channels)
3. full responsibility for all of the State’s financial transactions (4 eyes principle), without the need for full transparency
4. a firmer approach towards personal attacks on forum
5. young, ambitious players should be on top of the list at Congress elections and get all opportunities to become State secretaries in the government
6. subsidy programs for starting players should be brought to Congress’ attention again.
Let us emphasize that this is the opinion of most GPN players in the current Congress, and that everyone’s opinion will be respected also if this is not according to the previous. In the upcoming Congress term again, there will be plenty of room within GPN for constructive debate, as always.
Last, we would like to thank all people who support us and have supported us in the past government terms. Who, during the times we had no Congress elections,showed through their support in the CP elections that they want to work on a stronger eNetherlands, together with GPN.

FrankieVB: Alles wat we bezitten kan in-game opgezocht worden. Ook door de vijand.
Alleen is het voor hun natuurlijk ook werk om precies onze boekhouding bij te gaan houden. en dat zullen ze er niet voor over hebben. Vooral omdat het veel minder interessant is als de lijst met bezittingen.
Dus hetgene waar het hier om draait is niet hoe we er voor staan, maar echt de boekhouding die op zijn minst naar het congres toe openbaar moet zijn (ook volgens ons wetboek). Als de boekhouding echt geheime informatie bevat (stel dat de UK ons ineens een hoop geld geven om Polen mee lastig te vallen, terwijl de UK en Polen in dezelfde alliantie zitten) mag dit natuurlijk (tijdelijk) alleen met het congres gedeeld worden. Maar zelfs in dit extreme geval vind ik dat op een bepaald moment de hele bevolking recht heeft op deze informatie. In dit voorbeeld zal het verraad van de UK op een gegeven moment ook op andere wijze duidelijk worden, en kan de informatie vrijgegeven worden.
En ja, het congres moet hiervan meteen ook op de hoogte gesteld worden. Anders kunnen ze onmogelijk meedenken... Dus we moeten betrouwbare mensen in ons congres hebben.
Natuurlijk kan dat Djirtsdew. Iedereen kan ook bij mij inbreken. Maar dat wil toch niet zeggen dat ik dan maar al mijn bezittingen voor het raam leg of wel? Dat doe je min of meer door zaken op een forum te plaatsen. vergeet ook niet dat ook zoekmachines private secties gewoon doorzoeken...
the law in RL is also interpreted by it's intention - it is called teleological interpretation. some parts of the law more than others. as far as i know for example law of EU as the letter is in different languages and words often mean much different things in the languages and going by the letters might even go against the purpose of the law. so law in EU is not just interpreted by the intention of the specific law you look at but by intention of the EU as a whole too.
Yes, but who's intention?
If you are appointed to follow a specific law and ignore it/break it only to question it's validity later, instead of not breaking the law and questioning it's validity. Which would you preffer to appoint. If you think the latter, don't vote GPN.
Their motto seems to be: We read the law, we broke it, we will not repair it. We are the law. F You for asking questions about it.

you don't guess an intention that might fit your problem now but you look back and try to find the intention the law was made with (or it was even spelled out in the past by a court decision and whatever) - i don't see chaos emerging from that
for example ingame eGermany made a non aggression pact with poland. it does only spell out that the egerman goverment musn't support agressions against poland (=RWs in the occupied regions) so some smart people think that fighting back as private citizens might be no problem. however the intention of the treaty on poland side was to limit damage drain from RWs in occupied german regions. and so for poland it is of no importance if RWs are organized with government or only by private people as the result would be the same (=damage drain). with this even if it doesn't is formulated in the threaty also private RWs would undermine the foundation of the threaty. the wording limitation in the threaty is only due to poland government only being able to "dictate" an other government (here germany) in a threaty what they should do - they can't make treaties with all citizens. however the intention is clear and so you have to act by the intention of the threaty not after the letter
The law in real life is interpreted by the interpretation of previous judges. So the law should be interpreted the way interpreted before.
If a specific law has become unused recently that means that the previous interpretation (which may be over a year old) still holds.
If you do not agree with a law, change it. That's the only way to get rid of the (old) interpretation. Attaching a random new interpretation to a law is not correct.

Yes and no. In America, our courts have the right to supersede previous rulings. Normally previous rulings are used as a guideline, but they are not set in stone and can be overturned by a new judge/court ruling.
that's called new insights Aries. Bet it seems congress, or at least a few constant members of it, are not willing to adapt laws to that so i'm very glad we actually have other people in charge that think for them selves in stead of blindly following a lawbook.

For those who thought tldr (too long didn't read)
some important issues for GPN in Congress:

1: The law is interpreted according to its intention, which can be found in previous instances a law was used.
2: As with Asimov's three laws of robotics, I feel there is a "zeroth law" here too. The fun in eRep (for the whole world) is the most important, more than the stakes of eNL. It's a game, and therefore it's definitely about fun. Actually I'm wondering whether "the stakes of eNL" are more important than the fun in eNL.
3: Why keep our state's finances in back rooms? Only if there is a good reason for it, abandon full transparency.
4: Do you want a zero-tolerance policy? NomadicRacer was out of line and was punished via a MoNC. According to our forum's conditions his account could have been deleted. Likewise his in-game article could have been flagged as breaking the eRep laws. We haven't resorted to any such extreme measures, as that would completely alienate one of our citizens.
5a: Congress cannot be without experienced congress members. Especially with regards to your first point, stating that the Law should be interpreted according to its intention. This implies you need people who know the intention, know the jurisprudence...
5b: Young, ambitious players should definitely join the government. We can use a lot of help, and new input from them... Together we can create more fun articles.
6: I'd like to read more details in the article, but apparently, even though it's in the summary, it's missing there.... So I'll add two personal statements on this issue to give it some more backbone.
6a: The old subsidy programs were abandoned as they had become outdated by in-game changes, but congress at the time apparently never bothered to change the lawbook.
6b: A training ground subsidy makes a lot of sense from the in-game and from the coaching perspective. (I believe I mentioned that in some debates on-forum too, but it's a while ago). But we need a way to make sure that we don't lose too much from this when for example players quit and when they are banned.

yeah it is crazy. in some support groups ~1/3 still lives after a year and i guess in most cases the survival rate is much lower - sometimes all newbies of a sample die (after they got permabanned or quit) in less than half a year...
if you look at these numbers supporting newbies is like burning money. however if you can get some of the quitters to donate all their stuff to the state (or even other players) at least part of the money would come back/be kept ingame...
Good luck with a new Congress finally, must be very exciting. Sorry I never stuck around long enough to see it happen but I had to move on.

GPN the party that broke the law and gave us 2 key keepers. 1 official and 1 gpn approved.
GPN the party that has no objections to PTO another country.
GPN the party that would rather see all state mu's disbanded and have the soldiers join a private MU.
Thx for making it clear once again that the politics of I&W (and DemNL to a lesser extend with it) consist of, non factual, mud throwing in stead of looking at the bigger picture.
Looking at facts; I&W is the same party that provided a CP twice in the period before GPN prospered that overspend budget a lot, threw away millions causing the majority of problems we face since then. But hey; That's the past. We should look forward, but I&W (and DemNL) only seem to be able to slander on GPN. That leaves eNL with two wise choices; GPN, or if you want something else; VVN. I advice the latter.
And yes I know there is another top 5 party but that one I have never taken serious as it is constantly fluctuating as it consist mainly off newly recruited players that never last long so can never be a solid basis.

And please explain why you always include DemNL in your argumentation between brackets...
All you do is provide one argument why I&W is an unresponsible party, which you actually refute yourself with the next statement "that's the past". All that's left of your story is then the statement that "both parties only slander on GPN". Slander is making negative statements unsupported by evidence. And actually your own claim that they "only slander on GPN" is provably false. Both parties at least do something else, which immediately refutes your statement, making your own statement false, and thereby slander...
I'll stop at this point... I urge you to reconsider your statement. It makes no sense to me...
A: True. At the moment the person acting as Key Keeper is officially the "next in line", as far as the law is concerned. The previous person who acted as KeyKeeper is officially still in his position.
B: I'm confident that the PTO story was
1: not all of GPN
2: partly an exaggeration. I do not see how one party could PTO another country.
C: What's the difference between the state MUs and that specific private MU? Both fight for the same cause, and actually have the exact same priorities set afaik.
On the MU thing, private MUs did not followed orders in the past from non GPN Presidents. Ofc they dont have to because they arent state owned and controlled. Thats my major concern.
