Old Man of the Mountain

Good Evening eRepublik!

This is the second article in series of articles I'm titling "Getting to Know the Citizens of eRepublik", In which I will interview some of the well known, and not so well know citizens of eRepublik, focusing not only on questions about the issues and politics, but some personal questions as well.

For this interview, I made up some questions, and used some of the questions you gave me last week. More information about this at the end.

For this interview, I chose Uncle Sam.

Uncle Sam is our new and current President of the eUnited States of America. He is an active politician, known for his ego. He also enjoys bolding words and long walks on the eBeach.

The interview is as follows:

LennyA: I'd first just like to say thanks for doing this interview, I understand how busy you are.
UncleSam: Sure thing. For a fellow AAP member, why not
LennyA: I'd like to start with some personal questions, if you read my interview with Justinious, you should be familar with this.
LennyA: When did you first join eRepublik?
UncleSam: Well I first started playing erepublik under the name of Max Power XIVV, i believe exactly a year ago to this day. Uncle Sam however, was born on March third, so despite what my profile says, I've been here for a year now.
LennyA: So, your an eRepublik veteran, so to speak. What was it about eRepublik back then that got you hooked?
UncleSam: I must say that it was the community that first got me hooked. I desperately desired the approval of the leaders around me, since the country was so small back then, everyone knew what everyone else was doing. Then the idea of being the best, at first in the economy and business kept me glued to the game. I worked hard trying to get involved, for the recognition, and my success is what really kept me enjoying the game, me and my big ego lol. Anyway, it payed off, if you look at Capital Bank of America now a days.
LennyA: What made you want to pursue the position of President?
UncleSam: Well I first decided to run for President because Archibald was handling the economy very poorly, and I had some great plans. It was a snap decision back in September and I wasn't really a politician back then. For those who know their history, they would know that's when I brought the AAP into the big political picture, and then my career took off. After than I kept active in politics and it went well, however I always desired to lead this country and bring the positive reforms that it deserves.

LennyA: You mentioned your ego earlier. Lots of people like to use that against you. What do you think about that?
UncleSam: It's stupid political targeting. Honestly, the ego doesn't get in the way of being a leader, and what's wrong with taking pride in the hard work you've done. No, the point is, the ego is what makes the game fun for me in a couple of ways, it's what drives me to be the best. Without the ego, I'd have no passion, and without passion, I'd become a dead beat politician, and I wouldn't be able to get anything done. People know that I can put the ego away when I want to, and I take it out when I feel like it. it in no way is a problem, no matter what my opponents would like to say.
UncleSam: Active, Passionate, Loyal
LennyA: What? not 'egotistical'?
UncleSam: I wanted to say that, but I just covered that whole subject so I thought I'd mix it up a little bit. Although that probably would have been my fourth word. Actually ego would have been my fourth, not egotistical.
LennyA: Good point. On to the serious political questions! (Its ALMOST OVER, don't worry) What is one thing you hope to have accomplished by the end of your term?
UncleSam: Well there are many things I wish to accomplish... and all of them work hand in hand. I've already brought a little bit of war to the USA, but I'm not done in that area yet. The operation to get private weapons companies is still under way and waiting congressional approval and drafting, so I wish to get that done...Then I would also like to make the military stronger, hopefully through more funding, and getting some stronger tanks. Finally I want to complete this exporting program that I have going on so that the USA can prepare itself to be a strong exporting country.
LennyA: Sounds good. In your recent article, you declared the recent battle in Azores a victory, despite actually having lost. Will the eUSA ever gain back its military might? And are we at fault, or is it PEACE's massive spending?
UncleSam: Well it's a little bit of both. First off we have to realize that the main objective of that battle was not to win, rather it was to use the effects of war to our advantage. In that regard we did win. Now as far as the actual battle goes, well, we didn't spend much money on it...The answer to becoming a military power is through funding, organization and experience. We currently have the organization. We severely lack in funding, which is one thing I plan on improving over the next few weeks. Finally experience can be attained through simply involving yourself in a lot of battles, even if it means that we MPP up with other countries that are being attacked by imperialist countries like Indonesia.
LennyA: Ok. Now for some questions from my readers. I actually didn't get many responses last week, since it was my first article. So bear with me, because these aren't especially serious.
From Gilroy: Uncle Sam, will you be the president that gets us out of ATLANTIS?
UncleSam: It depends on the situations in ATLANTIS, currently things are going well and there's nothing really to argue about. Of course if something goes horribly horribly awry, then we may be forced to peruse other options. for now, I don't see it happening, since ATLANTIS is getting along well
LennyA: From Rhane: Ask Sam if he will get eMarried.
UncleSam: It all depends if I find the eGirl of my dreams, and so far Xista still won't sleep with me
