To get younger players acquainted with other member of our alliance, Slovenian government has decided to publish a series of articles about our allies. The first article is about our traditional friend and ally - Serbia.

Regarding international relationships I am also younger and inexperienced player, so I started to ask aroun😛 how did this friendship begin?, what is it based on?, and similar questions. The responses were very interesting: everybody was clear on the point that Slovenia and Serbia are friends, but nobody could explain exactly why. Typical responses were:

“well … you know … we are old friends ...”,
“we just are friends … since I don’t know when”,
“when new alliances are formed, we should always be together with Serbs”,
“the most important thing is, that we remain friends with Serbs”.

Everybody can sense strong and somewhat mystical relationship emanating from such statements. During my eLifetime I have also noticed incredible cooperation and friendship between our countries, which led me to the inevitable conclusion:

Slovenia and Serbia are friends, and it is going to stay that way!

Meanwhile my quest for historical facts started to bear fruits. First small piece of more solid information was eventually delivered by SmoothZiga:

“Slovenian-Serbian relationships were very good already from the start. Since our countries were added to the map, we were strongly connected. We always collaborated in joint military actions … I think the first one was triple attack on Croatia by Serbia, Slovenia, and Hungary in summer 2009.”

The second veteran who responded to my inquiries, Colonel Bruce, finally provided more detailed description of events, which helped me further understand strong ties that connect us. Because I think that everybody involved should know this part of history, I am publishing the whole Colonel’s testimony:

“In the beginning of 2010 the Croats wiped us out in the New Year’s action, while our CP was partying and wasn't online. After we were occupied, Serbs and Hungarians immediately came to the rescue and helped liberate most of our regions. The largest baby-boom in Slovenian history then happened, when a whole army of new Slovenians joined the game after a local TV station announced, that we are being attacked by Croatia 🙂

In the following months, Croats and Poles tried to wipe us out again (at the time, simultaneous attack of two or more countries on a single region was allowed!), but we have, with Phoenix, defended Prekmurje in one of the largest battles so far. After that we and our allies have wiped out Croatia and towards the end of V1, in the largest battle so far, deprived Poland of alpha and omega bonuses in the epic battle of Rhone Alps (the region was rich in wood, which has been bringing lots of bonuses to Poland because it was used for building houses).

It can be seen that Serbia has really incredibly helped Slovenia in V1, and in the end the Serbs even declared us 'the winners of the V1 module'.

With V2 and couple of months later V3, the admins have introduced new MPP rules and declaring of NE (which, before that, had to be paid by gold) and with these changes totally emphasized the military aspect of the game. In that period we have under Don Kronox and SmothZiga twice more wiped out Croatia with the help of Serbia, Hungary and our other friends.

Serbia has always stood by our side, our common enemy Croatia helped us develop practically fraternal relationship, which we have nurtured more or less during our entire common history.”


Knowing all this, there is only one thing to say:

Slovenia and Serbia - FRIENDS FOREVER!
